One of my favorite Amiga games as a kid... I used to own many different ports of the game and this version managed to have the best gameplay, which is strange (because let's face it - most arcade games ported over to the Amiga were really half-assed/bad thanks to lazy coders and them not having access to the original source-code, like US Gold).
Loved punching ninjas in the face. "Whomp! Derp! Whomp! Derp!", lol.
I used to play it alot as a child. It was quite a good game, but I could never make it past the fifth level because of the dodgy jumping. I could never figure out how to jump over the carriages without losing one life each time. Even if u did figure it out u have to be pixel perfect or else u will fall. Sometimes its just impossible to avoid taking damage from the ninja stars coz of the crap jumping.
i love the way the ninjas easily outrun the speeding truck in the second level. Our guy mayaswell have just walked alongside the damn thing rather than surf the top of it.
this is superior to the every other version (cept arcade obviosly) exept one respect from the nes version. i like the music and sound effects way better in that version. also in this version they don't say "i'm bad" at the end of the level they just grunt which is pretty stupid.
Yeah I think this is a rather good conversion. Fast, lots of sprites on screen at once and it actually resembles the arcade quite a bit. Very playable. I got real close to finishing it but could never quite get to the chopper!
My favourite coin-op. 10p a blast at Blackpool Central Pier. Could never get passed the truck trailer boss on arcade. But managed to make it beyond on the Amiga. I also, could not jump gaps. I used to 'round-house' to jump them.
I had a pirated copy of this game and could never figure out how to jump forward. I was usually pretty good at figuring out games without the instructions, but this one had me stumped.
My very first game for the Amiga. Quite a very good conversion: for the time it was nearly arcade perfect and had a couple of improvements like the multi-parallax scrolling on the second level. The only problem with it is that the original coin-op got boring quite soon...
The Amiga version's ending with the Bad Dudes statue is the same ending of the Japanese arcade version simply titled "Dragon Ninja", except the Japanese arcade version didn't say anything about eating hamburgers.
Is this me or does the Amiga version of the second level theme sound kind of like a prototypical Mega Man X/Rock Man X song? Seriously, they should do a mix of the NES version and this version of that level. Do you not think that would rock, folks?
Theres a level on Castelvania IV which sounds linds like this thats what I always remembered, (think its the one with the cogs flying everywhere). Good conversion though for the Amiga and it always makes me laugh when I hear his power punch... Hwatt.. Noooo, sounds like hes got a cold :)
Well, i just went through all the castlevania IV tunes on deliplayer and even though it reminds me of this tune (stage 2) its in fact nothing like it lol.
actually, this is a pretty good conversion for its time. this came out in late 1988 and was quite faithful to the original, keeping the two player mode, and in certain parts it was even better (the parallax scrolling in level two, for example)
okay i loved this game, but i still, to this day, dont know the controls to jump from trailer to trailer! someone please tell me hot do you jump sideways!
No idea how this guy pulled it off, there was no direction to push and button to hit to make these tards jump forward. Thus we never got past the train level.
I just laughed when I saw the final boss. The master ninja who happens to chuck fireballs from a helicopter!? The only reason he caught the president in the first place is because he's an idiot and only has one leg.
Yeah, this guy sounds like a real brain-donor! "D-eh! D-eh!" He may be tough enough to rescue President Ronnie from the ninjas, but he's sure not smart enough!
xD

Haha the main character is definitely Jean-Claude van Damme straight outta Bloodsport! Especially when the character raises both arms!
