  • Anyone else notice that the video was posted exactly 4 years before pickle passed? ( March 10 )

  • why do ppl assume when they see a video of a ferret they have to comment about what the owner is doing wrong or that they're uninformed? Anyone knows within the first 2 days of getting a ferret for the 1st time they'll scare you at some point if your new to them. IE: Dead Sleeper... with that being said... who doesnt look up everything about a ferret? and if the scare doesnt make you read up on them, they're cuteness and your love for them to make them happy cause they bring you joy will~

  • awww! poor picles... i sawwwyy! :( he was so cute!

  • I'm sorry for your loss. losing a pet is always so hard. just on March 10th my Cat passed away. I know how you fill.

  • Sorry for your loss, someone recently opened my ferrets area and the escaped. I got one back but the over hasn't come back, so i know how you feel to a certain extent.

  • I've never had a ferret but I know what it's like to lose a pet. I'm sorry about Pickle.

  • OMG She's adorable~! How cute~!

I'm very sorry for your loss. Best of luck to you and your family.

  • I'm sorry for your loss...

losing a pet is always so hard.

    On a brighter note,

I'm looking to get a fuzzy myself(:

I know they're such a joy to have

    in the home.

  • @LadyVicioussVids FYI, when offering sympathy over a loss, it's not the best to add "but on a brighter note..."

    There is no brighter note.

  • Oh my goodness you're silly! Never give a ferret anything rubber or rubber-like! They like to eat rubber objects uncluding balloons, remotes with rubber buttons, erasers, etc.

It attracts them for some reason and they eat it. It's bad though because it causes intestinal blockage and can hurt them badly :(

I love your furry though! she's so adorable! And her hiss is cute as a button!

  • @Dreshra If you'd taken the time to read any of the other comments before jumping to conclusions, you'd know that this has already been addressed. Pickle stole rubber things, but never chewed/ate them. When we moved at one point, we found a stash of pens and medicine droppers, all with rubber ends bits completely unchewed.

    But thanks for your concern.

  • "Fings369" whats your problem?

  • awh bless she/he is so cute! looks very playful and cheecky she must really love you i know my ferret would probz turn and nip me if i took a toy playfully haha! very nice coat aswell she looks really well groomed and looked after, she looks like a very lucky ferret to have a nice owner like you ^-^

  • i love that. i have a pine martin friend but he just visits from the woods when he feels like it

  • That's so cute! Ferris doesn't really get mad if I take her toy away (she has this sparkly yellow ball she zooms around with dangling from her front teeth) I guess cause she knows I'll give it back, I don't know lol. She didn't do much but squeak when she was excited until my cat taught her how to hiss. She didn't know what it meant though, so she'd bounce around the room hissing like a little kid randomly saying bad words! She cracks me up! XD

  • "give me the plastic bitch!" that's what pickle was thinking

  • LOL she's so cute! My ferret has a thing about stealing the remote... all I can say is that its a good thing I taught my dog how to find the remote! LMAO That's team work! LOL

  • SPEED STICK 0:25 thumbs up!!!!!!!

  • I own 4 ferrets, and I tell people that they hiss like a cat. But, now that I think of it, it sounds more like an very loud snake hiss.

  • your house from just this video looks too fuckin dirty you don't deserve a pet unless you yourself can take care of OUR things and YOUR environment before being responsible for another living creatures

Lazy people don't deserve pets...... kinda makes sense........you wouldn't want your grandmother in a dirty nursing home with lazy caretakers!!!

  • @Fings369

    Don't be mean.

  • tickle my pickle!

  • PICKLE?!?! hahahahaha! awesome!

  • Yes taking in a ferret is alot of work. Like adopting a rescue ferret.. My baby girl was potty trained within her first time home. this one is only 8 months oldand he has sooo much trouble learning and its pain in the ass. but hes slowly adjusting..

  • dahm she's like my ferret's twin sister

  • If her "swollen girl parts" r swollen..That means she needs to breed & if she cant at least have sex..She WILL die!!! Buy a book.Alot of vets dont know alot about ferrets so read up..it can save ur babies life!!! Also..Ferrets r natural born thieves.I wouldnt put my ferret in jail for wanting to steal & stash.Also..Dont leave pennies lying on the floor OR any small objects.Thats an operation waiting 2 happen.FERRET PROOF UR HOUSE.Fans under the fridge #1 killer of kits.2nd-doors.under carpet 3

  • @SmokinMo11 If you had read anything I've posted here previously, you'd know that I'm not punishing her, nor is she in any danger due to an un-ferret-proofed house. She's a thief, but not one who eats her trophies.

Further, I have read up on ferrets, and am well aware of what the signs/symptoms of adrenal problems are in my ferret, as well as the treatments. But I'd love to thank you for assuming me to be an uninformed ferret newb and brightening up my morning.

  • WHOA SHES LIKE, DOING A LITTLE JIG 8D

  • i know how ferrets can get when locked up. mine hate it when we leave out of town cause they go into their huge cage and lose the freedom of the livingroom and backyard. i hope you ferret friend is ok.

  • i hope she gets better <3

  • (Aspiring vet tech here) DO NOT wash your ferret every month. It is like MischiefMeerkat said, if you wash them, you are also washing away their naturally secreted oils in their fur that help regulate their body temperature amongst other things. They are also more likely to smell worse afterwards. So if you must, only wash them with kitten shampoo once or twice a year.

  • Did...Did that ferret sat "Let go!" At 0:27-:29?

  • @Roosauec I think that was me whispering something, but damned if I can remember what I was saying :)

  • My ferrets died and I will miss him and his brother and sis. on the bright side I get 2 new ferrets. They all died of disease except 4 1. Anyway who wants cookies.

  • my ferret doesn't like to be locked up either. she stares me down for like 20 minutes

  • my ferrets get mad when i prevent them form getting some where it is so CUTE!!! they spin around and swing there heads back and fourth and bite things.

  • Right now I am in school to become a vet and they should not be washed regularily. They need the oils on their fur to have a healthy natural coat. If they are really dirty, and I mean really dirty then bathe them as you have to. Though if they are getting this dirty you probably should look at where you are housing them.

  • @ferretsaresmall you clearly have no idea, I done a 2 year animal management course at college and we had ferrets there. the vets told us to just bath them only a few times a year. So are you saying you know more than a vet, and the fact that you ferrets smell of dove is wrong they should still have there own natrual scent, make sure you know what your chatting about next time. Also ferret care books also state only bath every few mouths.

  • Boy I feel sorry for @ferretsaresmall's ferrets. Should probably take your ferrets to the vet to get their skin checked out, if you even take them to a vet period. Their skin is probably REALLY bad, and you NEVER use flee shampoo on a ferret. It's toxins could really harm your ferrets internals and dry the skin up terribly, it doesn't just dry out ferret skin but dog and cats too, the mat. used in it just naturally dry the skin out..

  • Please read the ferrets are for dummies guide book, because you are clearly a dummy when it comes to ferrets. If anything, bathing once a month is the maximum, and should be left between 3-4 months.

  • Any immature child that can not type simple words correctly, means ignore them. They are ignorant obviously. I work at a vet clinic too, took care of 4 albino ferrets. I didn't have to bath them every day or anything. Just feed them and clean up after them.

  • HI BABY!!!!!! ... sorry had to GIR Quote xD ... But that is pretty kawaii ^w^ :D

  • my ferret has an attitiude like that too all the time!! what do i do?

  • ive been wondering what that noise is.right now mine is making it because im taking her away from crackers

  • The noise means it is either annoyed, or mad.

Alot of ferrets make that noise. Its normal.

  • so cute!! hope she's better now =)

  • Actually you dont have to bathe a ferret that often.. There are some people that doesnt bathe them at all. Its just that they smell so bad sometimes that we need to get them clean. But not more often than once a month

  • aww, this is too cute! Poor thing!

  • right... umm basically im nt a moron and i do use proper punctation actally this is txt writing so u can fuck off u stupid little bitch

  • go to hell yu are probaly 3 so go cry you little bich

  • I have two ferrets called Eleanor and Rigby and when you take away his favourite toy he does the same thing Pickle does. watch my videos if you want!

  • Eleanor Rigby,...

    love that song (:

  • I hope Pickle's okay!!!!!

  • She's doing much better. She plays with the cat, attacks feet, all her usual little ferret-y things. She's going to the vet soon for a check-up, and we're thinking she's got some adrenal issues going on, but aside from that she's back to her regular self :)

  • I have a little furry weasel myself name Kricket and she's the JOY of my life. I know that sounds pathetic but I'm a dork. =) She recently fell out of a window and fell on concrete about 15 ft.

You could IMAGINE how scared I was. Turns out my little critter was FINE! She didn't hurt herself at all other than being very shocked n' immediately tired. Thank GOD!

So I always feel for the ferret owners with unhealthy critters...I love mine so much!

  • uh oh i watched another video and there ferret had adrenal issues as well and it was just so sad...

  • Pickle's actually doing VERY well. When we took her to the vet in September they told us she most likely wouldn't see her 5th birthday (she's 4 1/2 now) and she was well on her way to being completely bald. Amazingly enough, in the last 2 months she's not only grown back all her fur, but she's gaining weight like crazy and looks like a completely different ferret.

And... She has a new friend now, we just added a kitten to the mix as well, and they enjoy chasing each other around the house.

  • thats great i hope the vet was wrong pickles is adorable

  • @soren415 my oldest girl has that problem. she lost all her fur. but never showed any pain or discomfort and a few months later we woke up and all her fur was back. now she is losing it again. i think it is going to be a yearly shedding and outbreak if you could call it that. she is a trooper.

  • @FixedByDoc Yeah, Pickle lost the majority of hers last summer, and grew it all back and put on a bunch of weight over the fall and early winter. Now she's got the thinning hair and "swollen girl-parts" typical of adrenal problems, but she's still showing the two cats who the alpha animal of the house is.

  • @saidshe that is basically the exact same as my tepin. she is starting to lose a little fur again now. i think its going to be a yearly cycle. she is such a trooper and still the boss. lol.

  • did she/he fall in a pickle jar lol

  • Cute! I have a vid of my ferret taking a bath... but she pooped at the end. lol

  • Ferrets should not smell bad. If they do - it's indicative of a problem. It could mean poor hygiene by how the owner cares for the ferret/s or a bad diet. All ferrets have a natural musk - but unless they're upset it should not be overly noticeable. Do not bathe your ferret more than twice a year, wash their bedding and clean their cage weekly and scoop out their litter box daily. With help from you, your ferret will be a clean and relatively scentless animal.

  • there smell is a defence mechanism

  • no actually you should bathe your ferret 1 a month with either regular shampoo or flea shampoo it doeant matter!! i have two and they smell like dove soap!! you obiously dont know jack shit about ferrets!!

  • Actually, everything that I have read says that doing it once a month is really pushing it, & that every 3 months is fine, others say that you should only do it if they get themselves really dirty.

The more often you wash them, the more they will smell. Shampoos strip their skin & fur of the oils that keep them moisturized. Too much washing dries out their skin & makes them itchy, forces their oil-producing glands to go into overdrive & makes them smell more.

    Please go do some research.

  • no i do do reaserch and it says that you should do it once a month! wud u like it if you wernt washed for 3 monthes! so i have done reasech and if u do know evrthing there is to know about ferrets how come ur ferret dosent have a friend?

so dont tell me what to do with ferrets! :C

  • Honestly, the only reason why I'm approving this comment is to show what a moron you are and what sort of drivel you're spouting off. No one in their right mind would, or should, take ferret ownership advice from someone who can't use proper punctuation or spelling.

Oh, and she has a friend: her "little brother", my cat Chaucer, whom she torments and chases non-stop.

  • @saidshe i never wash mine they generaly bath in their pool ie dogs larg water bowl. lol. did i mention they beat up the dogs and steal their food too. ferrets are small doesnt seem to smart.

  • If you don't have one, you really don't have room to talk.

Research is nothing compared to experience.

  • @ferretsaresmall u dumbass

  • @ferretsaresmall are you serious?? What lame ass source do you have that says to wash ferrets monthly? When you DO have to wash a ferret you do NOT use any ol' regular shampoo! Baby shampoo or something designed for them. Sure you ferrets might smell good, (for now), but I bet there skin is jacked all to hell 'cause you've dried it out..

  • If you Wash a Ferret Constantly you are stripping the natural body oil's the ferret's have.. this cause's the ferret's to release more body oil's to cover what they have had washed away.. This can actually cause the ferret's to stink more..

So sorry, you only wash the ferret if they are really stink.. and even then you Don't use Soap unless it is needed to remove what ever they are covered in..

Best method of cleaning a ferret is Warm Water.. [Baby tempreture]

  • @ferretsaresmall I agree with saidshe, you are a moron. I have read everything about ferrets, and even if I just got a ferret a week ago, a 6 month old ferret which I named Rolo. I know not to bathe him unless it is really, REALLY required. And I'm probably a lot younger than you, but at least I know how to use proper punctuation.

  • @Ryuurin3435 that is an awesome name for a ferret "Rolo" lol. mine are trevor, tepin, and tristan.

  • saidshe is right. 3-6 months between baths. Bathing strips their fur of natural oils.

maybe YOU don't know about ferrets

  • @MischiefMeerkat you are so right.

  • LOL ferrets love too do that!!! my ferrets do that all the time i got vids of them :3

  • my ferret always makes that noise, i dont know why

  • hahaha thats cute a ferret at the pet store has a purple monkey and she makes that hissing noise when i try to take it away from her:)

  • do they biteee and my mom said tht ferrets are like sugar gliders if u dont play with them or pay attention to them alot ,they wont be tame ...is it right or wrong i want ur answer so i can tell my mom and she might allow me to keep it hehe:P

    thx alot

  • She's right. You need to pay attention to ferrets, just like you'd pay attention to any pet. If they're not properly socialized, then they're not going to know the proper way to behave, and so they're going to be nippy little things.

  • Depends on the ferret too. Mine is pretty tame and obedient; around me. She won't bite me, she uses her litter correctly and everything (mind you I don't keep her caged). When I'm not present she won't hesistate to go at the side of the litter, and she nips at everyone else in the house, other than me. Been trying to correct it for around a year now.

But yeah. They do bite. They usually mean well though. Kind of like a "Hey! Play with me!" kind of nip.

  • when they make that breathing in noice does that mean there pissed or is it them just breathing in??

  • It's their all-purpose sound to indicate annoyance :)

  • lmao, ok thanks

  • pissed

  • my ferret does that too all the time! but she does it with medium/small stuffed animals

  • I try to take Chewy's toy away, he yips at me, lol...like a little dog

  • MMIINNEEE!!!

  • OMG!!! Totally like Tubesock, on my Gimme Licorice video, LMAO.

    Love the name :)

  • That's aweosome! My ferrets do that as well! They're so possessive over thier toys! It's so funny to tease them!

  • lol! I have 8 ferrets and they take their toys, my stuff, my fiance's stuff and just random objects laying around and try and steal them. If I try stopping them or taking the object from them, they hiss at me out of frustration, just like this lol. It's funny. Sometimes they'll try and steal my hand or foot and if I pull away from them, they hiss at me too... Like I'm supposed to detatch my hand or foot and give it to them lol.

  • mine hide and stash their Kong balls..anything rubbery or foamy...doesnt chew them just drags them around and hides them...haha your little is like NOOO MIIIINE come ONNNN i waaaaant

  • OMG! D; Don't let her hide with rubbery things! Intestinal blockage is the leading cause of death in domesticated ferrets! T~T Even if she "doesn't eat it," she will still play with it by biting. She may not mean to, but she could easily ingest a small piece. Ferret owners who believe that this will never happen to their pet will end up very disappointed. :c

  • As I pointed out, she doesn't bite/chew it. She just hides them. We keep track of what she's doing with the toys. I'm not some little kid with a ferret - she's my second, and the last one lived to the ripe old age of 6.

  • I see you get the same type of comments I did on my video too. Everyone's and expert with an opinion. It's a wonder our ferrets survived on a diet of rubber and licorice!!

  • bahaha my baby hisses to :)

  • My ferret once did that

  • lol i love how she hissed!

  • mine is a boy and is named.

bandit....lol...he hisses when you playing with him and he hisses at my dog my dog's scared of him...0_0...lol my ferret is king of my pets!!!lol.

  • rubber is not good to give to ferrets cause for some reason they love rubber and they can chew and eat it and then it gets stuck in their stomaces

  • If you'd read the comments further up you'd know that mine is not one that chews it, which is why she's allowed to have it.

  • good way to stop any chewing is to get a dogs rubberball on a string and tie a thick sock over it, they can still chew it but they can swallow it, mine are fussy as well, they don't eat most rubber stuff.

  • Haha mine too. Whenever they battle the cats they make that noise.

  • Such hisses! She definitely didn't sound happy. Mine are always quick to hide their prizes as well.

  • that rubber crap on the eye dropper can be chewed off and it they eat it can clog their intestines. just a heads up

  • I wouldn't let her play with it if she was the type to chew things. She prefers to just hide things rather than chew them :)

  • lol, i have two ferrets. they both always take thing with rubber, like shoes, flip flops, balls, beer huggies...etc. they usually just chew the shit outta them by accident when they carry them around. Ive never seen a ferret eat rubber. They usually just chew on it until they find something better to destroy.

  • im happy about that, and its good you notice. i'll go to a pet store and look at the ferrets and there is usually all these crappy toys half eatin in there. it makes so angry lol

  • good thing she didnt decide to say screw it and eat your hand for the dropper instead of pull it away..

  • im going to get a ferret when i move out of my house, the things are just so cute

  • They are great pets. Make sure you learn all you can. And just a heads up, they have a weird odor, and you have to make sure the cage is practically always clean, they tend to smell kinda bad lol.

If you have any questions about ferrets though, feel free to message me, I have had them all my life!

  • umm hey if i decide to get a female ferret how bad will it smell. I am hoping close to not atall cuz my mom won't really go for it if has a bad odor

  • Keep the cage clean, don't feed it shitty food, and don't wash the ferret and it won't smell. Mine doesn't smell unless you actually pick her up and sniff her or something, and even then she's no worse than any other animal.

  • mine either there so cute though it`s driving me crazy

  • lol its like "GIVE ME THE EYEDROPPER GOD DAMN IT" lol :] that was cutee, but i feel bad lol

  • She did get to keep it, and my boss lets me take as many of the medicine droppers home as I need to keep her happy :)

  • aw nice boss :]

  • so thast the sound i thiught it was my phone or tv or somthing not the ferret haha

  • my ferret died not long ago, but now i know what that sound means, ill remember that if we ever get another one...

  • I remember when i was asleep my younger ferret used to come onto my bed, start licking my feet, then start biting my feet and trying to drag me with her :|...sometimes she almost drew blood. SHe used to hiss at me aswell.

I told her off, grabbed her by the back of the neck several times, but she still always done it

  • thats funny

  • Yeah they make that weird breathing sound whenever you try to take their favorite toy out their mouth or when they are scared from an other animal.

  • She also does it when she's just plain mad about something. I swear she's like a small child sometimes. :)

  • Yeh!! Mine too. I know what u mean.. hahahaha Like a little todler or sumthing

  • Was you pulling her tail???

  • No, I was holding one of her toys. Her tail is way to cute to pull :)

  • OOH, soo THATS what that sound means...oops

  • yah she is ferrets rarly hiss

  • Actually, they do hiss when they're angry or scared. She does it when she's mad at us, or when we're saying "no!" to her for doing something she shouldn't be. And just the other day she hissed at our cat because she didn't want him in the bedroom closet together.

  • haha, she's PISSED!

  • It sounds like me at 5 AM. Fan-damn-tastic.

  • What a cutie! I'd forgotten the sound ferrets make when they're pissed. lol

  • Yep. She does it when she's mad. If we catch her misbehaving and tell her "no!", she'll do it too, like she's talking back at us.
