Savarese was to young, to strong, and to hungry. That first shot was a forhead/side of the head type shot that can definately hurt a fighter &leave his balance off.

i remember watching this fight when it happened and buster looked bad before he got into the ring. Soft in the middle and soft in the head.

Is there an analogy between Douglas and Riddick Bowe? I know Riddick has the better rep and legacy, but if you think about it, Riddick was pretty close to his prime during the two Golota fights, making him not unlike Douglas.

Bowe came in too light in his 2nd fight against Golata (235 lbs.) and that was a big mistake. After being in 3 tough fights with Holyfield and not taking proper care of himself between fights took a toll on Bowe's overall conditioning for his later fights and shortened his career. Bowe had many amateur fights also and was rumored to have been KO'd in the gym on several occasions, which sped up Bowe's demise.
