I live in california now, but every time i go home, naturally the approach is from the west. Seeing Baton Rouge and the spillway is always a welcome home feeling. It is always beautiful to see.
I been on air plane, I like it when it take off or landing. But when turning I hate it, feel like I was gonna fall off the side... But good flight....
That right dude. But I dont hear any roars inside as a matter of fact I am deaf also.. :D I love taking off and landing on ground hards. But not turning.. Gets me dizzy to see the deep city, makes me feel like falling off those plane. :D
Man I love that approach into MSY. Growing up in BR I saw so many planes making that approach along interstate 10 when driving to New Orleans. It's great to be on the plane now visiting home and seeing the interstate when you make that turn over the lake. It's like a welcome home sign. Then I walk out of the airport and get smacked with humidity and I know I'm back in Louisiana for sure. I could seriously use and Abita and a plate of red beans and rice right now. Thanks for posting this.
i love it at night and when ever i hear welcome to new orleans i hear my self thinking welcome home

MSY is one of the best approaches and landings, especially at night (even after Katrina.)

...also one of the best spotting areas: the parking lot next to the threshold of Rwy19 is AWESOME for getting good vid!

Question: It's OK to film upon descent? I thought the "turn off all electronic devices" rule would include this-
Mp25DIII 4 years ago
Yes, it is very dangerous to film on descent. Contact the FAA for me. Thanks

I contacted them--they said only flaming dorks could film and you were covered under that rule-
