There was a man named Paul who was interested in controlling his church. His letters show this. He never met Jesus. When someone says to me that the Bible is God's word, I question THAT. Most of all I question the claim that it is all the word of God, for this seems impossible.

That's because those stories are about as realistic as the stories of Adam & Eve, Jonah & the Whale, Noah's Ark and lets not forget the Ressurection story. Are you saying that there never was a man named paul who established churches in places like Corinth, Ephesus, Thessalonica, Rome, Philippi, and Collosi? Are you saying that the letters that he wrote to them are nothing more than useless drabble, and that these letters were never distributed to these churches in the first place? Or do you suggest that everything he said in these letters were of his own creation? Do you suggest that a man who killed Christians CANNOT turn around?

There was a man named Paul who was interested in controlling his church. His letters show this. He never met Jesus. Yes he is responsible for so much of the crap about the rapture, his views on gays causing them grief even today. He was an opportunist. His initial persecution of Christians gave him the knowledge to study and understand them in order to be able to take advantage of followers just as TV Evangelists do today with their ministries.

You are going to have to convince me how a man who killed Christians in the name of God completely did a 180 and became a Christian himself. Completely contrary to what he was doing previously. And you can't say he didn't meet Jesus. He describes how he was met by him several times. And in addition to that, the preaches in perfect harmony with what the gospel and the other works of the New Testament say. There is no need to talk to people like you who have their ears closed.

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:14. Just to show that the "Word" is Jesus, John tells us that the Word became flesh and becomes the "only begotten of the Father." The same Word that Scripture tells us "was God" from the beginning.

The concept of God existed long before man. Because I don't agree that a concept is unique to humans, we can't agree that the concept of God was created when human minds grasped the idea. When you speak to most Christians, you have to be prepared to deal with irrationality (according to the accepted philosophy of logic). Most of us believe in a pre-Adamic being: Angels, for example.
