The video game in itself can be very addicting, but ask yourself, it that all it takes to turn a normal person into one that craves a game for many hours on end? No. It takes somebody that is vulnerable socially to fall prey to those kinds of urges. In other words, people who become addicted to WoW have some shortcomings to begin with, the game becomes the black hole filler.

I play a similar (don't e rage listen to the next part) but vastly difrent game called RuneScape. I use to play around 8 -10 hours during the summer, when i woke up and had nothing better to do i would play. When i finnaly fell asleep it was ususaly around 4 am. and at about 8 am, i was back up.
yes it's a bit much and i don't play nearly as much, but i find ironic that my mom could scream at me for playing a game too much, when most of her day seems to be spent watching tv.
You heard about this new expansion that is out called "The real world". They've raised the level cap up to 200 now. And the long and boring grinding sessions are gone, with a much better and improved system. I've already reached lvl 135 and Im working my way up, beats everything so far ;)

Say if you dont currently have a job. Everyone you know has one, they go to bed early and wake up early and will be gone for 8-10 hours where you have none to hang out with. It's really not hard to play 14 hours a day if such is the case. But the press will do anything to get money.
I play WoW for the comical value of it. Messing and chatting with people has got to be the best part of the game. I founded my own charter company / corporation in the game, something that I wish to do in the future in real life. Can't be addicted either, since I am an A-B student in high school, have plenty of friends to hang out with, and play golf / hockey.
If anything, WoW has helped further develop my social and business skills!
I never got addicted, and I think the reason is that I never joined a guild. There's no point grinding for hours to earn that Tier 10 armor if you have no friends to show it off to, nor any raids with stringent gear requirements.

And so do I When im visiting them I always, ask into the game and their characters (ofc we do other stuff to) Don't take me wrong i play many games for pc and ps3. I love it. When I have nothing to do and bored, I play games. Wow is a hobby for people. Just as much as sports like football and baseball. People just have to realise we live in 2011 now and not 45 B.C

The video game in itself can be very addicting, but ask yourself, it that all it takes to turn a normal person into one that craves a game for many hours on end? No. It takes somebody that is vulnerable socially to fall prey to those kinds of urges. I know I'm not rich, so this is what I do to have fun when I have free time, I just happen to have a lot of free time so I play a lot. It's not complicated.
Of course there are extreme cases, like parents forgetting to feed their kid because they were playing this game, but that's very rare.

I play a similar (don't e rage listen to the next part) but vastly difrent game called RuneScape. I use to play around 8 -10 hours during the summer, when i woke up and had nothing better to do i would play. When i finnaly fell asleep it was ususaly around 4 am. and at about 8 am, i was back up.
yes it's a bit much and i don't play nearly as much, but i find ironic that my mom could scream at me for playing a game too much, when most of her day seems to be spent watching tv.

Go into a dungeon, kill everything, get money, leave the dungeon. Wash, Rinse, Repeat... I get bored so fast...
Only real reason I play WoW anymore is because my '360 is broken... Need something to waste my free time on...

@evilhomer11 sry to u evil but i have had a drug addiction and trust me having a drug addiction is alot worse cause it is a physical addiction. and scientist will say anything to keep a majority of people happy and take home there nice big pay checks for doing it . some1 that is addicted 2 a videogame its called log the fuck off and dont play it isnt hard any1 that gets violent and shit well you's have something very wrong in ur head and really should get that looked at

@TeenQueenMeeky 100% correct, wouldn't agree more. The only "hard" part about turning whatever video game you play off, is actually thinking of something else, something better to spend your time on. Say if you dont currently have a job. Everyone you know has one, they go to bed early and wake up early and will be gone for 8-10 hours where you have none to hang out with. It's really not hard to play 14 hours a day if such is the case. But the press will do anything to get money.

I play WoW for the comical value of it. Messing and chatting with people has got to be the best part of the game. I founded my own charter company / corporation in the game, something that I wish to do in the future in real life. Can't be addicted either, since I am an A-B student in high school, have plenty of friends to hang out with, and play golf / hockey.
If anything, WoW has helped further develop my social and business skills!

I never got addicted, and I think the reason is that I never joined a guild. There's no point grinding for hours to earn that Tier 10 armor if you have no friends to show it off to, nor any raids with stringent gear requirements.

@jackfudgeu You play WoW because the world is "fucked up". And there is nothing else to do? Really? You should be playing WoW because it is a GREAT GAME. IT IS FUN. Not because everything else sucks. You are the kind of people who have a problem. You depend on the game. If it is removed from your life, chaos will incur. There are a lot of other things you could be doing. You don't HAVE to play WoW.
WoW should be fun. If your becoming dependant on it, quit. Straight away.

I've been 70 3 weeks to a month now. I want to hit 80, but I've got stuff to do, and I feel bad wasting my time on WoW. I just renewed my subscription, though. (Hours at a time? Big deal!) I don't get WoW jokes. I just started playing to join my friends.
