  • Nice,how did u do it 3d?

  • in case you didnt figure out why you cant see the blueprints just select those two that "dissapear" and right click and select object properties and remove the tick from backface cull

  • OMG where do i get blueprints!?!?!??!

  • what the fuck was the point of that?? all you showed was that you kow how to put images on planes!!

  • Ok..i know many of these posts are old..but ill help if i can : for blueprint setup to model around..place ur blueprints to SIZED (pref the official cars specs) planes..and either apply as texture, or drag and drop. And sl4sherXL is right, or click the plane, right click the rotate, and type 180 into Transform around Z. hope this helps someone, somewhere :p

smcars{.}net for great car blueprints!! Peace out happy modelling

  • omg

  • I wish I could afford this program =(

  • OPEN YOUR EYES jaja904 .. you have internet .. what are you waiting for ?

  • covert to editable poly, select the element and click "flip" to flip the normals

  • Fuck you !!!

  • i will like to use this 3d max

  • i can put the picture on the plane i tried to make the fish but when i put it on the plane it turns grey then when i clik on show standard map in viewport it turns almost white with little grey dots please help i really want to do it,i have 3ds for 3 days so.... please help

  • is that plane object with texture?

  • how can i put the pictures around like that car?

  • you could make it a cube and remove 4 of its faces. But honestly, I think it would be best if you make it 2 sided and show the texture on the viewports.. other than that check the settings.

  • just flip the normals

  • read max help however guys are right just make it 2-sided

  • Or just change its position. Move the front to the back, and back to the front. 2-sided planes don't really help but makes it more difficult to model.

  • in the material editor check the box by "2-sided" and thats all

  • how can i insert the pictures?

  • go to the material browser, or press "m" and then change its diffuse map with the picture you want then click in the button that says "view texture in viewport" and thats it.

  • what is diffuse map and where is it?

  • just drag the pic to the object

  • When using image planes, turn up your self illumination to 100 in the material editor, trust me! You'll be able to see your images much better! Also configure your card drivers to the highest texture it can handle. ex. 512, 1024 etc.

  • oh thanks! haha now i can see them without lighting

  • Thanks....

  • lol, its not a fault. It happens with planes, they only have 1 side so you can only view it from 1 side. To fix it either set its material to 2-sided or right click on the plane and uncheck properties>backface cull.

  • hey im downloading right now is it fun?

  • you got backface cull checked on in the object properties..

  • pffft, noob.

    Convert to Editable poly

    Select poly mode

select the side thats facing the wrong way

click flip in hte right menu

    and ur done!

  • or you could copy the plane, flip the normals and attach it to the original plane.... or you could make it 2-sided like hammerbchen said :) lol

  • You have to set the material to "2-sided". This will make to image plane visible.

  • No it isn't.

    Using v7 btw.

  • whats the problem?, its normal in 3dsmax o.O
