  • the best band of the world in a wonderful moment.

  • one of my favorites u2 songs.

  • Oh my God I remember totally falling in love with U2. This sound, the songs, the feeling, the attitude. And to this day I have managed to never see them live. And honestly, as much as I love everything they do, every phase they have gone through, I'm most sad that now, if I do see them live, I won't hear these old songs from their old albums that I adore so much...

  • i love running to this song

  • great live but back when was magical

  • THAT'S THE BEST U2 WE'VE EVER SEEN

  • One of the best concert of all time

    The Edge: without cap lol

Bono: Such energy on stage , hope put the same energy some day in Paraguay

  • Ahhhh, U2 where did ya go after you left red rocks! your sound- Haunting, Majestic, Classic, never to be done that way again, even though they will never go back, U2 owns RED ROCKS, their spirit walks about there every night... they just allow other artist to use it time and again! How long? the Day was Sunday, Bloody Sunday-June 5th 1983 a day that will live on in infamy!

  • @1983REDROCKSU2 Brian Eno got a hold of them and they were never the same after this.

  • Bono's hair looks alot like a Davey Crockett hat!

  • U2 @ Red Rocks is absolutely brilliant. What a show! they were on that night. The Dvd is excellent as well, it really captures the rawness of the show. No frills no gimmicks just in your face musicianship. The photography was superb and the weather, Then sound.

Just absolutely perfect. probably my favorite music DVD Get it and turn it up

  • I saw U2 at Dooley's Restaurant and Nightclub, East Lansing Michigan, Monday night, 1981. They were hauling their own equipment, playing through a crappy house PA to about 100 people. My band was playing there later that week, so with nothing to do on a Monday night we checked out this unknown band. They're superstars now ...I'm not. RD

  • @RomanovDynasty1, they were already selling out theaters, even well over a thousand in attendance to see U2, in cities throughout the U.S. before they played in East Lansing that Monday night in 1981.

  • Come back to Red Rcoks U2!!!!

  • Could be, arguably, the best concert ever! Wish I was there!

  • Awesome concert and they just got better and better... just fantastic

  • What an awesome event, they had such passion back then! I guess that happens when you are literally playing for your life and careers!

  • 92-3. Who are the 3 d-bags with no taste in music? The probably bought Milli Vanilli albums.

  • If i had a time mashine, i would travelded back to 1983 and go to this consert!

  • Ridiculously good live performance. Jesus Chist.

  • @fennajh inderdaad!

  • De beste band ter wereld!!

  • U2 TWILIGHT TRIBUTE BAND!!

We are on Myspace and Facebook.

  • @u2Twilight Yeah U2 tribute band, i know those jerks :)

  • @janza78 Really? did we meet? Why jerks??

  • Best Show ♥

    Best Song ♥

  • Thanks- great to see the full show on video- not just audio- awsome!

  • incredible.. the way Bono sings here is just incredible! I thought that the album version was good but this is ..wow

Wish I was there at red rocks!!

  • Bibien1 looks just like Adam Clayton! Has anyone seen them together?

  • i like U2 like this.

  • takes me back....

  • the best of u2 is in this concert.......

  • i love the edges guitar intro of this song

  • The video quality isn't really that bad... It certainly could be a lot worse, but it's not as good as the original.

  • how can someone give me a thumbs down on my last statement--its true the dvd and even the home video version looks way better than this ugly version and if you had cable in 1983 this concert looks great but this one? No way!

  • the video is just poor quality but there was cable in these days and the original version does not look this bad it looks great!

  • well my copy is better video quality, but I've seen worse than this. This isn't that bad.

  • bad hair day bono hehe. but he is cool anyway!!

  • poor video quality

  • you're right but the sound is good

  • those were the 80's....thought they've had HD ???

  • your bleu room from the passengers is the only song Adam is singing. But live he sings Elevation etc

  • Red Rocks-the best concert eva....

Under a blood red sky-the best live album eva with 8 homicidial songs

  • Ever since I first saw this on MTV around 1983, Ive been wanting to see U2 live, especially during the JT and Zoo tours.

This year, Im not missing them ... Ill be at the Sam Boyd show on 10/23/2009 ... ACHTUNG VEGAS, BABY! :)

  • this MUST have been a great concert!! Only if was born 10 years earlier

  • Adam does vocals on i will follow think thats it.

On the UF/JT tours larry wears a mic and does it

bakdbeenz at 1.44 adam is in front of the drums

  • that comment was for those who said Adam didn't actually sing. I saw him sing on the Unf. Fire tour as well.

  • the U2 live at red rocks album was probably the most influential record I ever heard. In my college years (1983-1987), I discovered U2 and there has been no turning back. If you didn't listen to U2 or REM in my day, you were out of the loop. It is the best live album of all time.

  • YOUR CORRECT!

  • I was only a sophomore in high school back in '83, but even then I knew these guys would be great, and 26 years later I'm glad I was right...I got to see them in'91 at the Pontiac Silverdome, and will remember it the rest of my life. I hope the people at this show knew how special this performance would be...

  • Me too, saw the at University of Md, in 83 general admission, best concet of my life!

  • You are so right buddy!

  • @jp84rocket The Live @ Red Rocks is a show/tour I really wish I had seen. I was only 13 at the time, but wow.. that music was amazing. Way before Bono started giving political and religious speeches in between every song. This live release and The Delicate Sound of Thunder are tied for my top favorite live releases.

  • @jp84rocket ... Are we twins? Completely my story except that REM was not known in Denmark at that time, not by me anyway.

  • @jp84rocket indeed a great album, however there were more than U2 and REM going on at this time.

  • you telling me:)

  • super concert,i agree with u2control.great voice,he was younger, but anyway as good wine they get better with the years...

  • u2s best concert ever--vocals were great and the guitars, bass and drums were incredible! Long live the Red Rocks Concert!!!

  • I tried hard to resist being overly influenced by any other artist but I must admit that this particular band, and specifically this concert, are part of my very fabric.

  • Bibien1 looks just like Adam Clayton!

  • This was great to hear in the Orpheum in Boston on their first tour ever. Thanks for sharing the song!

  • adam sing?

  • I've heard that they didn't ever have his mic on. Guess he just wanted it for show.

  • Not true...1:44 you can clearly hear Adam

  • thats the edge's voice for sure

  • eu amo esta musica

    Twilight

    amo u2

  • ill finish with this thrid comment saying there are a LOT of other bands with bassists that are worth far less than Adam Clayton. I will agree that without the edge though, U2 is musically only half of what it is. Well, was. As far as im cocnened Pop wasn't that great and 99% of anything after that sucks. they lost the originality they once had. Live at red rocks is a classic show in rock n roll. No doubt about it. Wish the tape version was COMPLETE. First time i see this one.

  • This very one even, one of the earliest ones ive learned. Simple but nice. And on Pop he had a few really nice basslines. I think on joshua tree even if really straightforward, basslines like with or without you (4 roots notes all the way) count for something. Instantly recognizable. Same for New year's day. From 1980 to 1984 he threw in some chrods around live too a lot. Simple power ones but still rare to see bassists do this. He did it a bunch in the Live at red rocks show.

  • Ok im kinda sick of people saying Adam CLayton can't play bass. Now don't get me wrong, he's not a technically great bass plyer but he knows how to play to a song. Ive been playing bass for 12 years and while i was able to play all u2 song within the first. Ive always enjoyed a lot of his basslines. I'd say his basslines from Joshua tree to maybe Zooropa weren't as great as his earlier ones though. Two hearts beat as one is a kickass bass part. The slap solo in gloria.

  • I love all U2 songs...particularly ones which Edge has backing vocals to!

    :)

  • incrivel

    u2

  • I lost my way..........

  • This song is actually about a teenager trying to tell his parents, he;s gay.

If you've read Into the Heart, you'l know what I mean.

Just pay very close attention (especially to the intro) to the song.

  • I cannot believe my comment has 3 thumbs down, if that is the way "superior" U2 fans look at interprations of songs, then they've picked the wrong rock band to listen to.

U2 push for equality, and homosexuality is one of them!

  • In the 'Into the Heart' book, Bono is just amused how the lyrics can be interpreted that way, because the lyrics can clearly be interpreted as referring to homosexuality. However there was no homosexual intention or idea when they created the song and the lyrics, according to them. Just a case of coincidental similarity.

  • U2 ! U2! u2 U2! Band of the world !! band of the century!!! keep up the best work!!

  • U2 would not have if it were not for Larry, the drummer in in case you retards did not know it!!!!

  • BeCAUSE U2 is such a huge band ...no one will ever really talk about the fact that Adam Clayton cannot play bass at all

  • huh?? you don't think he can...even now?

  • Hi Babyblue. Yes. I think that Adam Clayton can play rudimentary bass guitar. Sorry if it seemd like I was being harsh. U2 possibly never would have existed if it weren't for Adam.

  • oh yeah? what makes you say that?

  • Adam Clayton was very instramental in U2's formation. Rather than take my word for it perhaps you should go do some research BabyBlue.:-)

  • well i knew that!:) i thought you might have some information i hadn't heard. i've heard the other 3 wanted to give it up, and ac convinced them to stay together way back then. they wanted to quit because of religious beliefs i thought..

  • If you knew that then why exactly did you say this babyblueloveangel? "oh yeah? what makes you say that?" ............... Are you high? :-)

  • of course not. i just give all 4 credit for forming the band. but when they went to break up, i know he convinced them to keep it together. but you're right, he was important in forming the band...

  • Just relax and take another bong hit LoveAngel. :-) Everything's fine. U2 is a great band and I'm sure you're a great gal :-) It's wonderful to hear these songs from Boy live!

  • i'm not high! just cold medicine maybe. stop it. yeah....it's great to see stuff i haven't seen in forever.

  • Fuck off! He's a GOOD bass player, man. Solid and he plays nice and loud.

  • yeah it's great to see Adam singing on the chorus- why did he ever stop??

  • Adam stopped singing because his voice is almost worst than his bass playing......Sorry but it's true.....I love U2 but Adam Clayton is a frightingly bad bass player. Don't get me wrong I love U2

  • Hey no worries, I'm not into attacking people for expressing their views, and I know he's definitely not the greatest out there. I think most U2 fans know that Bono and Edge are really the geniuses in the band, Larry and Adam round things out well though, and if they were all musical geniuses they might have ended up more like the Beatles...

  • ...it's also no secret that Larry and Adam have been taking lessons for at least ten years. I'll admit I've never heard Adam sing solo, but his bass playing is at least decent enough to have kept them going this long. If you're a musician though (I'm not really) I can see where you're coming from. Rock had always been more about attitude than virtuosos, it'd just be cool to see him display the panache he's got in this video more often these days. cheers-

  • A big reason to remember why and how U2 became the best live band around.

  • The Edge, Guitar Hero

  • I'm sure most U2 fans will agree that this "Live at Red Rocks" is a classic live U2 gig. The video release is still only available in VHS. The live CD is actually not all at Red Rocks.

  • So fucking cool - DVD please NOW.

    I rekcon next year....

  • I'm suprised Adam sang too! Great song, this makes most of todays music seem like crap.

  • wow man adam sang!!!!!!!!!!!

  • incredible song!!!

isnt too known but is good ,,,really good!!

  • Rare, thanks for posting

  • timeless
