Unfortunatley, what Bertie can't grasp is that the way in which this project is going ahead, is seriously endangering locals lives. This might sound like scaremongering, but its not, local people have genuine concerns about their health and safety. Last year 5 local men had to go to prison to get their concerns heard. Will the same have to happen again, for people to get their voices heard?
As i've said before, planning laws have been breached, should the law not apply here? What would you do?
These pipeline workers are entering an illegal construction site, because this site is in direct violation of the Sevesco II EU Directive. Also the planning permission on which this site is based is out of date, because shell omitted info in their original environmental impact statement on which the planning decision was based. They should under law resubmit for planning permission, however they have the government on their side.
They were in front of an oil company headquarters. Did you see all the toxic labels and other warning labels on the pipe? The pipe symbolized the oil pipeline, and the damage it does to the environment. At least that's what I gathered from the video.
