Joey Dachshund walking 6 1/2 weeks post back surgery

my dachshund just had the surgery this monday. Before surgery, he still had deep pain sensation but now I dont think he does. I dont even think he has control of his bladder anymore even though my vet insists he does. He becames paralyzed sunday morning. He was peeing only when I set him on the grass outside not anymore he was on crate rest because on friday a vet had told me his loud yelps was due to IVDD but he said i caught it early and had time Im scared I think he's worse. Any consolation?
