probably not, the internal mechanisms would be far too complex and large to be housed within the cubes smaller frame, and the very nature of the changes would more than likely affect the mechanisms functions, perhaps if the cube was of a considerable size then maybe, but as of now i doubt it could ever be accomplished.

Technically they could be made, in what you'd consider the proper size as well.

You'd need to use nanotech of course, tactiles, motos, and what not.

Unfortunately it would be one very expensive puzzle box, considering the amount of money spent to accomplish the few currently functional nano parts in labs.

Outside of that, if you watch the animations here, and movies things dont seem quite possible with solid matter, axis and planes magically shifting places etc.
