I am a plankowner on the Springfield. I remember when we launched on 1-4-92. It was cold and dreary. They pulled the trigger and the boat sat there for an eternity. Then started to creep slowly, and then faster. We ended up in the middle of the river.
When were you onboard the USS Archerfish? I served from 1991-1996 as a member of the Torpedo Division. The back of my head is also in this video at the 1:04 mark. What great memories and good friends!!!
I remember the name now, sure...so you must be getting close to retirement ny now, sounds like you are still active anyway? I like the video pictures of the Archerfish, brings back awesome memories for sure!!! That picture at the 1:04 second mark, do you remember where or when that was taken? I have been thinking about it and can not place the location?
Nice job! I did a slit sea tour - 2 years on the James Madison (SSBN 627) Blue out of Kings Bay - and 2 years on the Grayling (SSN 646) from Charleston to Mare Island Naval Shipyard.... I'm very proud of my single tour of service and even moreso to all those who made a career out of the boats! God bless all those past, present and future and especially those who are Eternal Patrol !
can you explain them to me? i got into nuke and volunteered sub. i don't know which one to pick. i know i do it at boot camp but if i had an unbiased idea from someone with experience that would be cool. btw did you like your nuke job or would you have preferred another?
Whoa! Check me out sitting next to Dan H. @1:34! How's it going West?
