  • Is that elodea

  • thats more of a bowl than a tank lol

  • the new tank should be more flat than deep, they are bottom feeders so they dont realy swim like sea monkeys wich like depths

  • they're so UG- CUUUUUTEEE!!!!

  • how did you"transfer" them from one to another?

  • Sick! Whats safe to put in a tank? Because i wanted to put pebbles, plants, etc. in mine but the package says no, but yours looks awesome!

  • @FVNostrovia Yet you watched it

  • @FVNostrovia so what hobbies do you have, supposed fat ass?

  • They hatched but 6 of em dissapeared and that seamonkey that somehow got in there idk how is also gone. I put some food in but theres another small dot swimming about so if he somehow survives I will have 2 in mah fishbowl.

  • @mzh3000 Now theres only 1 hes big and having trouble shedding. IDK WHAT TO DO!

  • I put some water I BOUGHT and then poured in the sand. Now it's all foggy for like the last 8 hours and the stuff that the eggs were with " woodchip peices" wont sink at all.

I think hatching chances are slim :(

  • Dont do that often they will get stressed and in some cases starve with too big tanks beacause they arent good adapters

  • youcan buy them at toys r us

  • @glaceon8900 yup u can and sea monkeys theyre next to the sea monkeys if u know where they r

  • @cutiegirls4ever i do know what sea monkeys are

  • Where can I get some and what ar better sea monkeys or these

  • @randomsha5211 these because they are sooo much cooler to watch and these lay eggs, and sea monkeys dont. well, i guess some sea monkeys lay eggs. but sea monkeys laying eggs is very rare

  • they look funny idk y but i laugh its funny

  • WHERE CAN I GET A PACK????

  • @MsKaylee100 Youy can get them at Hobby Lobby, I just saw a pack of them for sale for a whole 4 bucks yesterday.

  • @ddmiddle777 thanks

  • they look like tadpole fish lol

  • Amazin!! I have some questions. I just bought an egg pack, and when I go through the entire process, do I hatch them in a regular container? Can I hatch em straight in my tank? Or can I hath them in a separate container and then transfer them to my tank? Can i use sand? Food? How to repeat the cycle after they have die? ( i mean like drying up the container, and refilling with water to hatch the eggs. thanks!

  • what do they eat and how often do you clean there tank?

  • medio trucho

  • Wow, they're big! I didn't realise triops were that size :p

  • @CoolSeaMonkeys i know im not proud of that

  • i used to have 6triops, and they were soo cool, until one turned against the others and started eating them..... sob sob... even when there was food.... dang~ soo they all ended up disapearing

  • where do u get em

  • had a question!!?? can i use "playground sand" for the bottom of my triop tank?

i would wash the sand through water. is this how u get the clay out?

  • Needs coral gravel (get it at nearest pet store)

  • had a question!!?? can i use "playground sand" for the bottom of my triop tank?

i would wash the sand through water. is this how u get the clay out?

  • haha XDD

  • I like triops than sea monkeys...Triops are larger... I want to have triops as pets...but they dont exist in the Philippines... =_=

  • well its worse here i norway!

  • they dont? i used to live in the phillipines but do they sell science sets? cxause if ur lucky one of the science sets might be about triops thats how i got my first triops

  • ozone with spring water no toxxy

  • is spring water added with ozone toxic to triops?

  • just put the water in the tank and let it sit for a few days in a warm room for a couple of days.

I just used tap water for my triops and 6 hatched out of the pack and I tried the same with bottled drinking water and none hatched :S

  • they look happy but did u put a little sand for laying eggs if it a girl

  • cool

  • i had to hatch mine is seprate tanks cuz i had 1 hatch and eat all the other eggs

  • my triops egg wont hatch...help plz

  • i can help u if u make a vid and send it to me.

  • @MrFlex12310.I'm still waiting for my Triops eggs to hatch.

  • Did you use distilled water?

  • show me a vid and i could help u ok

  • im getting some soon in a kit!!! are the kits good for them????

  • im getting some soon

  • I had to stab my triop because it kept on bullying my fish...

  • lol

  • dude thats normal after a couple of days they become friends

  • lol friends?

    CANNIBALS!

  • u evil dude!

  • ROFL!

  • cool

  • i just got my triops and its been like 24 hours! the water is right temp and everything. but i dont have a lamp on. will they still hatch even though i dont have a lamp?

  • yes they will mine did just give it time

  • they do but they die without a lamp

  • k thanks im using anightlight and its pretty wierd but works perfectly. the water is now at a stable 24%c and there is a lot of light. thanks to both of you!

  • i just got them can someone tell me how long they live? and how big they get and if they reproduce. THANKS!

  • they reproduce hundreds of eggs in the sand. they live about 70-90 days. When they are all dead you have to dry the sand and reuse it for the next hatch. (not all of that, there will be hundrets of eggs inside, you can store the eggs for 30 years for bad times..)

But they can reappear if you just wait for a longer time, too. (might be weeks or months)

  • ok thank you so much :)

  • I use to have triops but they died after 3 months.

Triops are cooler but they are harder to care for but sea monkeys are fun to.

I love messing around with sea monkeys with the laser it comes with they do somersaults and flips.

And you can buy something for it they play with by tossing it around with each other

Triops are cool but they always eat the eggs really fast where sea monkeys can give birth to live babies.

Also I use to always carry sea monkeys with me in my sea monkey leash.

  • mine grew so big that we had to give them to the zoo!

  • Amazing are they, heh? The fact their eggs can lay dormant when the water dries up probably is the reason why they survived what the dinosaurs couldn't.

  • @Templier90 Fact: the eggs can remain dry for an upwards of 20 years before they "die".

  • i used to have 2 then one of them dissappeared i think they ate each other D:

  • @eliza5536 i dont know...mabey...was the live one fatter tha usual ?

  • @chickenpoper im not sure it was along time ago and they were like tiiny

  • @eliza5536 they r known to eat each other most r canibils

  • in my kit it said triops live for 6 mounths if there in the right conditions or sommin lol

  • i put my sea monkeys with the triops and the triops ate them so much fun

  • triops dont live long at all. a max of MAYBE a month but more commonly2 weeks. sea monkeys however live on average to 2 years

  • Yeah, but you failed to mention you can get a new batch of triops by simply drying out the tank and then adding more water. They lay plenty of eggs during their short life spans.

  • was i supposed to mention that?

  • No, but it wouldn't have hurt. It makes a difference if someone is considering buying Sea Monkeys instead just because they live longer.

  • I Think Triops Are Well Better Then Sea Monkeys

  • yeah but sea monkeys look cooler but when a triop is 1 month old prepare to barth :[

  • what are better triops or sea monkeys what lives longer?

  • Sea monkeys lives longer, but triops are larger than the sea monkeys

  • triops longer!

  • i have sea monkeys, but im getting triops next week!:D

  • Triops are way better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you wanted sea monkeys just buy brine shrimp...they're the same frickin thing:o

But triops only live 1 month while sea monkeys may live 2 months.....but I don't know but I'd rather buy a swimming killing machine(triops) than a horrible boring and retarded sea monkey(technically a brine shrimp but whatever)

    WELL THAT'S MY OPINION ANYWAYS.;D

  • on my box which i got my sea monkey kit in says sea monkeys are guarrentead to live for 2 yrs and i think i read somewere triops live for 2 months or sumert.

  • @thatfishbreeder Triops are cool, I agree. But you're wrong about the sea monkeys, they live to be roughly two years old. Just stating a point.

  • triops

  • there both just generally awesome.

  • that hornwat if so can they eat it?

  • Hornwort, yes. And yes, they eat tonnes of it.

  • @Mildewpants Where can you get hornwort?

  • males have short tails and females have long tails

  • I'd beg to differ. What about hermaphrodites? ; )

    Depends hugely on species too.

  • I would love to put an 'aquatic Utricularia' carnivorous plant in there, A carnivorous Aldrovanda would be cool, to.

  • Why? The triops would just eat them ;).

I have kept utrics with triops, shrimp and fish before though.

Never seen Aldrovanda for sale anywhere, but if I got some I certainly wouldn't waste it feeding adult triops ; ).

  • I thought it would be the other way round. Plants would eat triops....Pity the triops would eat them...no fun there...LOL.

  • hey guys, can some one tell me a opinion: i want to take seamonkeys or triops. what should I take?

  • Triops are generally much more interesting and do a lot more, but the kits aren't great and they usually die unless you spend more money on a cheap air powered filter and a bigger plastic tank (will come to around £10 extra).

Sea monkeys are interesting biologically if you read up about Artemia, but are fairly boring to raise/watch - cheaper though.

  • triops but it is harder to look after them as they need sand and stuff but it comes with it

  • none get fish

  • why did u move them into a smaller tank r u crazy

  • Read description....

  • I got eggs in at the mo! I am excited!

  • i use to have these but they died cause i ran out of the food that came with the box and they ended up eating each other.. what a shame.

am looking to get more of these but anyone know where i can get more of the same food in the box or any other ones? i tried feeding them carrots and vegetable before but they didn't eat it

    please reply

  • i dont really no but u can feed them worms when 3 weeks old

  • do you have to order them online because I have NEVER seen them is stores? PLZ HELP

  • thesell them on toystores

  • never knew lol mine died :( my cat was drinking the water...

  • buy of argos if live in uk

  • Have a look in Argos

  • Got some triops at the weekend, only put them a couple of hrs ago and last time i checked there were 23 triopz eggs in the tank!

  • how long does it take for them to hatch?

  • 24 hours give or take a couple more

  • About 18-48 hours. Although when the weathers colder they may hatch a little later. Triops cancriformis takes longer to hatch then longitacaudus.

  • make sure u use the right stuff!

  • Mine hached in three days so i gess three days

  • were can i get some

  • any good toystore

  • he he. My daughter has triops but i'm the one taking care of them.

  • What the hell is a Triop??

  • critters. lived for 200mill years some guy said to me but they still live

  • where do u get them? i've tried sea monkeys but never triops. sea monkeys stink. so hopefully i'll like triops

  • you can get them at wal-mart in the by the PET FISH rocks or plants around there i see them all the time for about 4-5$ i had them befor they are cool!!

  • how do i change my triops tank? My kit came with a small one and i want to switch it for a bigger tank before they become adults

  • im grow ing them maybe when there old enougth transport them with a spoon quicly . the tank must have v. simular temp otherwise tey die

  • cool maybe I'll get some

  • WHERE DO U BUT THEM AT!?!?!?!!

  • Can you please tell me how to move triops too another tank, because it is impossible to just pick them up (I don't wanna try!)

Yours are allready really big, mine arent, :-(

    xxx

  • If you have a bigger tank, they will grow bigger. Just like goldfish.

  • maybe thats true but if there only babys or in an egg then they wont grow or hatch unless it has a liter of water or less water

  • Do Triops Reproduce??

  • duh

  • i got a prblem with my triops i put the eggs but the trips don't caome out(only one come out)

  • me 2

  • is the water temperature correct? its suppposed to be like 60-80 right? correct me if imm wrong

  • 74-84 as according to the Instruction manual :)

  • let it float, when it soaks up water, it'll sink for the bottom dwellers, and eventually they learn to swim upside-down and eat the surface food (:

just make sure you feed them as soon as they run out of food, otherwise they'll turn on eachother!

  • hey just got my triops a few days ago... i waz just wondering... what should i do for the filter? lol i just hav a very basic tank thats pretty big and i dont kno wat type or even if i should get a filter. Plz respond ASAP :) Thanks

  • Yep, I worried about that when I first started with triops too, but it's normal :).

  • i know me too .. mine is now a 7 day year old

  • Makes sense.....????

  • 7 days.... cool

  • Don't worry, they are meant to float and will float for many days. Leave it in there until the triops are a decent size, lots of different critters are in the bark that the triops need to feed on. The eggs do cling to the sides, but they can still hatch if wet. Just gently splash them off every now and then, not all the eggs hatch anyway, and you dont want to many triops : ).

  • are triops freshwater or saltwater?

  • freshwater.

  • Wer will Triopseier???

    EINFACH PRIVAT MELDEN

  • how old are your triops in this video?

  • 2 or 3 weeks, I can't remember exactly but no longer than 3 weeks.

  • wow there big, thanks

  • nice tank check out my site for additional info

    triopsparadise[dot]webs[dot]com

  • thay will die sadly, because they dont have sand for eggs and they need to let eggs out or they will explode(not really) but die in pain

  • Nope, they can still lay eggs without sand lol, even though those two were males anyway so don't have eggs.

  • How do you know there males?

  • you cant put anything in with them it will irritate them

  • Not necessarily true, snails, loads of shrimp, and some fish are OK for triops to live with - as long as the tank can support them =).

  • i would really like triops its my birthday in a couple of days and im asking for them

  • where do you get them from?

  • Toy stores : ). Usually in the kids sciency bit.

Other than that - the internet has loads, just type 'Triops' into google : ).

  • i have sum from argos can u buy fish tanks n stuff in fish tanks for um

  • do they give you all the stuff you need eg food eggs and tank?

  • you cant get them in pet stores you have to go to hobby stores

  • I got mine from hobby lobby.

  • anyone know where to buy small water plants that are good for triops???

  • Pet shop? Any aquatic plants will do, the triops will try to eat them though. A lot of petshops sell non-aquatic plants as aquatic ones, but it shouldn't matter for a triops tank.

  • i'm a very experienced freshwater hobbyisy (10 years), and i would love a little tank of these on the side. could i set up maybe a 1' tank without a filter and heater? the water temp in my fish room is 22 unheated, and i have alkaline, hard tap water. i would of course do weekly or more frequent water changes, using clean healthy, pure water from my fish tanks thanks!

  • Sounds fine, though you will need something like RO water for hatching them, auqaium or dechlorinated tap water would be fine for water changes. Triops are ver dirty, so if you want to be able to see them in the tank I would recommend a filter - they are very resistant to ammonia, but sill fare better with a simple sponge filter.

  • alright, cool. i'll try it. thanks.

  • how do u change there tank?? do u just poor the water in the other tank with them???

  • Pretty much, it's important to remember they are very sensitive to water chemistry changes.
