Discrimination is everywhere. Here in the states, Asian faces in mainstream media are considered less desirable unless u r mixed with white/black or latina. When was the last time you saw an asian face in Hollywood. We always get stereotypical roles like karate or if they're filming a movie scene in chinatown :( Seems like being an american can only be either white or black. Being an american can be of any ethnicity as long as you were born and raised here.
