This Petros sounds very similar to my Alvarez DY62 Kazuo Yairi Signature acoustic. I know the Petros is a much better guitar and its stretch to compare them but they both have HUGE body and shimmering top end.
I have played $5,000 plus guitars that dont have the body my Yairi has. That Petros sounds amazing. And I love your playing Maycn.
Beautiful job! Can you tell me if that is in standard tuning?
You should know too that you and Benjamin Kammin and the whole UWM school are performing an invaluable service in presenting these songs of Leo Kottke. I, and I believe many others who have tried at various times to learn a Kottke song or two have been mystified. Seeing it done inspires, instructs, and entertains all who love Kottke.
Good grief Macyn - just when I thought you couldn't get any better! This piece is simply fantastic. Absolutely brilliant stuff - thank you for posting.
I've learned to expect nothing but the best from your postings, and I wasn't disappointed with your rendition of this Leo Kottke tune. Outstanding work on one of Leo's most difficult tunes from his early years!
You still impress me more with each new video. Studying your playing has made me a much better player. The new Petros helps too. What an incredible instrument.
Every time you post, i'm just blown away by your wonderful talent, and the beauty of your playing..thank you for spending the time to share with us all!
how can you be so brilliant... and yet so natural.. like it comes so easy for you.... and it does. your so amazing.... wish I had a pinch or your talent..

Your interpretation is very good, unfortunately the recording is too dark.
Disc strongly in the studio!

Great sound. How were you mic'd on this one? Looks like three condensers.
MrJuneau11 9 months ago
I recorded this at school. There were two condenser mics. I believe the other thing in the shot is the end of the mic stand.
