@whitelon I'm not totally sure, but i think it is because he didn't want to run on the pavement and dull his spikes... Because there was a little patch of pavement where he jumped.

Why would you ever in any circumstance jog in a race? Being the nation's best runner is no excuse for poor sportsmanship. Every runner is taught from day one to never look back and to run his/her own race.

@neshyba2 all he wanted was to get first. he didn't care what his time was. the only reason people sprint at the end is because someone is near them. i have never seen a race where someone who is way in front actually try hard at the end unless they are trying to get a record time.

how is looking back bad sportsmanship? we learn not to look back because it slows us down slightly, not because it makes us look bad.

Description is wrong. Lukas is the 3rd boy to repeat as champion not 2nd. Abdirizak Mohamud (1996 and 1997) and Dathan Ritzenhein (1999 and 2000) also won twice.
