In a list with vukan he'stan put a terminator librarian with null zone and what ever other power you like (avenger is good and fits the fluf) in a landraider with 5 thunder hammer terminators. Awsome combo. Plus with the increase in the power of psykers latly having a psycic hood in the middle of the field is becomeing almost neccissary.
Ive used a librarian quickening and might of the ancients, he raped a carny before biting it to the other carny, but i must be behind on the rules (rulebook with friend atm) why cant he instant death anymore? isnt it still leadership test, model dies regardless of wounds?
Trust me when I say I've seen a single librarian do a lot of damage. My own killed an Ork Stompa in my first turn of my first ever Apocalypse battle. Vortex of doom, yeah I got lucky, several 6's on the trot blew it to hell, but proved they have a use.
This seems really unnecessarily negative for a cheap, problem solver HQ. I like him jumping around and dropping str 10 blast is a nice problem solver. I think he really shines when he just has nothing extra, and maybe the upgrade for the two powers a turn.

Most of the psychic powers are worthless because they only become useful in very specific situations. Like the null zone only becomes useful against models such as the 1k sons or teminators. And even then you'll have to be shooting AP3 and AP2 weapons respectively.
To me this whole series of vid's sounds like this......"wah wah, space marines cant fly and shoot instant death out of their arses, wah wah.....they dont auto-win games boo hoo".

DarkAngel librarian has a save (moral check=no wound) but that is only one save per turn + just for him
normaly you get more than 1 wound in a combat

Thousand Sons have power armor and an invul. Thats the only unit I can think of that does.
As for Vortex, I can only imagine how terrible that would be to use when facing a Farseer with Runes of Warding.

Librarian w/ Epistolary and Space Marine Bike powers-vortex of doom and force dome
Stuff him with Korsarro Khan and a Command Squad on bikes and kill some stuff. Avenger is beast however.
