do you have internet on your wii? you will need it to update.you can check if you have wireless internet on the settings. if you don't have it, i don't know what you're going to do.

It happens to me as well. I put a game in and it comes up the update I unplugged but it doesn't start up proprly w/o the normal whirring sound
I have Mario Party 8, Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda, Wii Play and Wii Sports
