Poor health is a bullshit excuse. T-mac may have suffered a worse injury, but he still hasn't proven to me TODAY that he can still play like a superstar.

As a long time resident of the Orlando, Fl. area, and a major Orlando Magic fan.........allow me to state this: Tracy McGrady, in his absolute prime, was a JOY TO BEHOLD! Mcgrady is a good forward who likes to be on posters for dunking on people, and a great outside shooter. So is kobe. But kobe is much better because he can do so much more than that. He's a good post player despite his small body and a much better playmaker. They are both great at scoring.

I kinda disagree, T-Mac never developed a post game, never played defense, never developed an all around game. I thought he could have been better than Kobe if his health was good, but the more I think about it, healthy Kobe vs healthy T-Mac, Kobe would win cuz all T-Mac has is offense and I think Kobe is a way better offensive player than T-Mac was. Fortunately, Kobe was able to play though his injuries and it sucks T-Mac had the injuries he had. I wish i could have seen more of T-Mac

And yes I've watch t-mac when he was in his prime. His pull up threes and face up game was unmatched. If he was more healthy and worked more on defense, he could have been one of the best to play the game. But his post game wasn't as dominate as you might think. Compare his post game vs Kobe or MJ and you'll see.

Tmac in his prime was a good 28ppg, 6rpg, 5apg, 1.5spg and a block with 45%fg and 36% three. Beast, he was an all around player and played alot of defense in hsi toronto days before he had to carry a ton of bads in orlando.

Kobe better, but T-mac had just a smuch, if not more talent. he was taller, longer, and was super gifted. i give it lack of hard work ethic and a bad body. Kobe was gifted with that MJ desire to be the best and push themselves to an insane level. Kobe be my second fav player. Both wer emy heres growing up and still are. Kobe and T-mac, on the same team, in 2002-2003 = 2 championships...in ONE YEAR HAHAHA.

I kind of agree T-mac wasn't "as" good as kobe when he was at top of his game before his injury but kobe is a veteran player so he has a reputation to be good whereas tmac is just staarting to have one and kobe is more of a shooter than a scorer whereac t-mac is more scoring and he added shooting to his scoring so he was very diverse and would have been one of the best scorers wih his athleticism, and i think he would ahve gotten close or past kobe if he was 100% all to the end of his career.

As a long time resident of the Orlando, Fl. area, and a major Orlando Magic fan.........allow me to state this: Tracy McGrady, in his absolute prime, was a JOY TO BEHOLD! He will never receive the proper credit he so richly deserves because he's NEVER had the "team" support other greats have had. When I watch Grant Hill play today for Phoenix, it makes me nauseous. The guy was ALWAYS hurt during his career in Orlando.......years that he and T-Mac could have been the "Batman & Robin" of the NBA.

People forget for a few years it was a Kobe vs Tmac battle, and T-mac when healthy was the best complete scorer/handler in the last decade.
t-mac was a better offensive player than kobe and could handle the rock better too. Kobe might of had a better crossover but it was damn near a tie, and he was a little stronger going to the basket and better defensively, but other than that T-Mac vs Kobe was damn near a tie.
T-mac, penny, G-hill, were could be all time greats.

After seeing the out come of the trade for T-Mac. Houston should have kept that same team with Steve Francis and all of them because they played together for a while. rofl, whoever says tmac is better than kobe is a joke and a kobe hater. I have much love for mcgrady, but lets be honest here: kobe put better numbers when he was on his scoring tear years than tmac ever did. plus, ,kobe plays defense and works extremely hard to stay at the top. Now i know tmac has back problems, but even when healthy, he's lazy and is nowhere near as good as 24.

@TheSDodig alot of what you said about mac is true but he was able to score more fluidly and pass better at his prime than kobe. He also had crazy three point range. Had he worked a little harder, stayed healthy and had a chance to play with arguably the best center of all time who knows where he might be on the all time great lists.

Shaq had to bang with other 7 footers (Mutumbo, Olajuwan, Ewing, Robinson) in part of what was the most physical era of the NBA. Mcgrady is a good forward who likes to be on posters for dunking on people, and a great outside shooter. So is kobe. But kobe is much better because he can do so much more than that. He's a good post player despite his small body and a much better playmaker. They are both great at scoring.
