I think that every genre YMAS tap into they do it well and I think thats why they are such a well liked band because they have fans from different genres of music. To be honest i love every YMAS song and album but thats just me.

everyone says that the new stuff is rubbish compared to the old. personally i think the old stuff sounds pretty much the same but a bit more unperfected and with a little screaming in it. You're just disliking the music either because they are more popular now or simply for the fact that it doesn't have screaming in it. The actual music is just as good! Actually listen to it rather than just going off the screaming or what genre they're put into!

@Moirasmith110 Nice! yeah I went to Surrey to see then :') they are awesome guys... what really let me down was when they were at Reading yesterday, during the consequence (which is actually 1 decent song from HMD) at the end Josh didn't announce anyone to do the screamo, normally it's Sean Smith or another band they are with, anyway, I was omg, he may actually do the screamo himself!? Then he just sang the chorus again. It didn't sound right, that's when I knew the screamo was over for Josh :(
I never thought I'd actually say I like one of their songs but this EP is awesome. I can't stand their new stuff, Save It For The Bedroom is catchy but too annoying after hearing it a few times. I love this :D

This is Josh screaming, this was when these guys were raw and awesome and not followed around by 12 year old screaming girls lol. Just like every other band really, get sucked into the limelight and BAM, they change. I miss the old YMAS, I went to a gig in 2006 and now it's 2010 and I went to their gig in Newport. It wasn't the same, Hold Me Down aint bad, but it aint good.
Anyway, to everyone saying "they shouldn't do screamo" that's kinda ridiculous. This was what made them.

@Sequel46 amen to that. I went to a gig when they first came out. It was in edinburgh and barely anyone was there, maybe about...20/30 people and they came to hang out after. Was brilliant.
I agree with you totally, i only picked up on you me at six, at take off your colours, but listening to Noises and Promise Promise, even I think that they should do screamo more often. However, like when The Rumour was done live, Josh never screamed during it, he got someone else to do it.

@SamAtSix "capable of doing a lot more" no, they simply took a look at the charts and saw that screamo doesn't sell as well as pop. Look at the UK charts, there is no screamo in there. So they ditched that in order to sell themselves to a bigger market - which they have done and I praise them for their strategic business plans. Look at them now, selling out huge arenas, I am pleased for them and I would have done the same in their situation but money talks in this industry - not their hearts.

everyone says that the new stuff is rubbish compared to the old. personally i think the old stuff sounds pretty much the same but a bit more unperfected and with a little screaming in it. You're just disliking the music either because they are more popular now or simply for the fact that it doesn't have screaming in it. The actual music is just as good! Actually listen to it rather than just going off the screaming or what genre they're put into!

@Moirasmith110 Nice! yeah I went to Surrey to see then :') they are awesome guys... what really let me down was when they were at Reading yesterday, during the consequence (which is actually 1 decent song from HMD) at the end Josh didn't announce anyone to do the screamo, normally it's Sean Smith or another band they are with, anyway, I was omg, he may actually do the screamo himself!? Then he just sang the chorus again. It didn't sound right, that's when I knew the screamo was over for Josh :(

I never thought I'd actually say I like one of their songs but this EP is awesome. I can't stand their new stuff, Save It For The Bedroom is catchy but too annoying after hearing it a few times. I love this :D

This is Josh screaming, this was when these guys were raw and awesome and not followed around by 12 year old screaming girls lol. Just like every other band really, get sucked into the limelight and BAM, they change. I miss the old YMAS, I went to a gig in 2006 and now it's 2010 and I went to their gig in Newport. It wasn't the same, Hold Me Down aint bad, but it aint good.
Anyway, to everyone saying "they shouldn't do screamo" that's kinda ridiculous. This was what made them.

I agree with you totally, i only picked up on you me at six, at take off your colours, but listening to Noises and Promise Promise, even I think that they should do screamo more often. However, like when The Rumour was done live, Josh never screamed during it, he got someone else to do it.

@SamAtSix "capable of doing a lot more" no, they simply took a look at the charts and saw that screamo doesn't sell as well as pop. Look at the UK charts, there is no screamo in there. So they ditched that in order to sell themselves to a bigger market - which they have done and I praise them for their strategic business plans. Look at them now, selling out huge arenas, I am pleased for them and I would have done the same in their situation but money talks in this industry - not their hearts.
