  • I love your vids! Looking for info on how to smooth or clean up skin with PSP beyond using the healing tool. Have a person with severe exema and want to know how to use layers to smooth the skin...can even supply an image if you're willing to do a tutorial. Watched your dodge and burn vid but not sure how to get the dark spots on skin uniform with the rest of the skin. Thanks in advance.

  • Thanks a lot! You saved me from a lot of work :) (And convinced me that I don't have to buy Adobe)

  • @ktmcleopatra Glad tp be pf assostamce ...

  • Always such great presentations Rich!! I've been using PSP X2 for over 2 years now and always trying to raise the bar on my work. Using some of these methods will definitely help do that. As a photographer I tend to shoot dark so as not to loose detail from over exposure. Much easier to brighten and retain detail. Once over exposed the detail can be lost!

  • @mustangeddie302 Ain't that the truth - getting detail back in blown out highlights is an exercise in futility.

Have you tried the Shadows/Highlights adjustment? I've been using it in Photoshop and Elements and it really is quite effective.

  • Hi.. I was wondering.. when you have your layers box up, how do you get the blend moods across in each layer level?mine is just at the top of the box?

  • @kimbergirlie24 Ya - you can have a different blend mode for each layer and they are right above the layer.

  • Thnkx 4 sharing. It is really helpful .

  • The Blend Modes are so useful and everyone should understand the basic ones.

    Thanks for the comment ...

  • I must say you have a natural talent for teaching!! xxxx

  • I try to present it as if I was learning it - so - a great amount of detail is required.

Thanks for the great comment - you've made me blush ...!

  • Rich - When you're done with all of the steps in the video...what do you do then? I merged mine and the background didn't change.

  • Be darned if I know why that would happen.

I tried it with all of the merge and flatten commands and it always works. I even turned off the top layer and tried it and sure enough it worked fine.

Try it again - it has to work ...!

  • realy good and simple way to show it. This one is very useful for all the holiday photos we make that didn't turn out that well^^

  • The blend modes mean we can take really crappy pictures now and fix them in Paint Shop, right?

Naw - maybe get the picture right up front!

    Thanks for the comment ...
