Our current mayor, republican Jerry Sanders, ALSO cleaned up corruption in San Diego (the previous mayor, Dick Murphy, was ranked one of the 3 worst US mayors in Time Magazine). He did everything Palin did in about the same amount of time, but in a city with double the population. Why didn't McCain choose Sanders? Because he's not attractive.
I just listened to Palin at the RNC convention. I have read or heard virtually every point of her speech before in the media, always provided by McCain campaign officials. Several of her characterizations of Obama and descriptions of her life and family were published previously word for word. So it's just a committee stump speech, I doubt she had any input. I have only seen one photo, supposedly at 7 months, looks like she does now. Its interesting that her daughter was out of school for a total of 5 months with Mono just before/after the baby was born. Also Palin was in the lower 48, about to speak when she said she started leaking amniotic fluid, she did the speech and then flew 8 hours back home, then delived the baby and was back at work in 3 days. Flight attendents on the flight interviewed stated that she didn't look preganant at all.

But she did this AFTER the federal budget for the project was reduced due to outside public complaint which increased the cost to Alaska by more than twice. The electoral-vote website had Obama at 278 seats when she was announced. The day after her speech - while he was raising $10 for every dollar McCain got - their website had Obama up to 301 seats.
The GOP now has her in total lockdown & will permit NO unscripted events or interviews with her. She's a total disaster for the GOP, no matter how hard they try to put tinsel on that turd.

I always laugh when they say "Sarah Palin cleaned up Alaska"... I live in San Diego, a CITY with double the population of Alaska. Our current mayor, republican Jerry Sanders, ALSO cleaned up corruption in San Diego (the previous mayor, Dick Murphy, was ranked one of the 3 worst US mayors in Time Magazine). He did everything Palin did in about the same amount of time, but in a city with double the population. Why didn't McCain choose Sanders? Because he's not attractive.

I just listened to Palin at the RNC convention. I have read or heard virtually every point of her speech before in the media, always provided by McCain campaign officials. Several of her characterizations of Obama and descriptions of her life and family were published previously word for word. So it's just a committee stump speech, I doubt she had any input. She's a good speechifier, all hat no cattle. Just what they say about Obama.

I have only seen one photo, supposedly at 7 months, looks like she does now. Its interesting that her daughter was out of school for a total of 5 months with Mono just before/after the baby was born. Also Palin was in the lower 48, about to speak when she said she started leaking amniotic fluid, she did the speech and then flew 8 hours back home, then delived the baby and was back at work in 3 days. Flight attendents on the flight interviewed stated that she didn't look preganant at all.

women are different. In Europe women often have babies at home with midwives. In Kenya fellow Luo tribesmen of Obama the women are often are back in the fields working the day after they give birth. Some women get really big and never lose the weight. Some women you can hardly tell they are pregnant. Some even claim (usually 1st time mom teenagers) don't even know they are pregnant til its time for birth! You can't aleays tell a lot from clothed photos if people are pregnant, fat, bloated, etc.

Notice how when Mccain introduced her for the first time, Bristol was in the background holding the baby with a baby towel draped over her chest and stomach. Here is a woman who proudly claims to be a reformer regarding Federal earmark abuse because she cancelled the "bridge to nowhere" project. But she did this AFTER the federal budget for the project was reduced due to outside public complaint which increased the cost to Alaska by more than twice. It APPEARS She cancelled the project not out of opposition to earmarks but BECAUSE the amount of pork was not enough. Is her claim to be a reformer pure spin on her part if not a lie about her motives?

And when I saw the speech, which was nothing but fluff and appeal to emotion.. I thought people would criticize her for that, but oh no.. people love it!

Yes, keep talking down at Sarah Palin. Keep "be-littling her" for being a mayor of a small town before being on the oil commision and then governor. Keep attacking her. The women in this nation saw one women being beat up this year already and didnt like it. They will not stand for another women being beaten up I promise you.

Are you talking about her mayorship of a town population 7,000 and her governorship of Alaska population 600,000+ (size of a mid size city in america)? When i think of a state thats in touch with the rest of america, you know what, Alaska always comes to mind.

The latest polls show that Obama got NO BOUNCE FORM HIS CONVENTION! ZERO! McCain is still tied with him! ANd the Republicans havent even had their convention yet!
The Dollar is gaining strength. The war in Iraq is being won. The nation loves Sarah Palin. The swing states love their guns and religion, and dont like people saying they "cling to them". Fox news will release the "whitey tapes" of Michelle Obama next month. Biden will get killed by Palin in the debates. All she need do is show up.

Obama had gained a lead even before he spoke last week. If they're tied, it's because everyone who's usually polled was at the beach.
The dollar is now gaining a little strength--has a lot of ground to make up. The war in Iraq was a mistake. The nation doesn't know who Palin is. There are no whitey tapes and Fox news is a joke. The only way Palin wins the debate is if Biden makes her cry and people feel sorry for her.

Kids rebel against even the most well-meaning parents. A person is not a hypocrite if their kid rebelled against them. Stuff like this happens to any family. To put it in perspective, it was not Sarah Palin who acted in a manner contrary to her viewpoints. She had a rebellious daughter and, in a positive sense, families like Palin will work through it in the way they see best. For politics, focus on the viewpoints and solutions of each candidate.

yes, i remember that scripture. i do, however, believe GOD to be more consistant than to have the "minister of God, a revenger" be just as worthy of that very execution. what i mean by that is, in HIS perfect wisdom, no sin is any less evil, but palin wouldn't be in favor of executing her daughter for having unmarried sex. that hypocrisy is one of many reasons i'm not a republican.

blackgoldwarrior was simply comparing Palin's actions with her words and with the Bible because Palin claims to be evangelical. It's not unconstitutional to have a Biblical view of government, especially when the Bible encourages you to be a good citizen. Moreover, the concept of separation between church and state was included for the protection of the church.

I see your point. But I don't think it's hypocritical to support the death penalty. Capital punishment can be supported by Scripture, and, if I'm not mistaken, premarital sex was neither a capital crime in the Scriptures nor is it one in the U.S.

Thanks. I'm leaning toward Obama. I'm independent, evangelical and pro-life, but I'm sick of this administration disregarding not only the constitution but all the people less fortunate than the upper 1%. My brothers and sisters need to read their Bibles and their world history, both of which warn against "friends" in the government.

Was Obama legally adopted by the Muslim Soetoro and this is why he took the name? If so when did he legally change his name back to "Barack Hussein Obama II" or "Barack Obama"? What name will appear on the ballots and what name will be on the official WH stationary? What is this guy's real name?
ps: I agree w/you on the religious issue. We don't need govt promoting any religion even if it is Islam or,more likely, secular communism under Obama/Seotoro or whatever his name is this month!
