When I was a cop I used to love following fire engines on their runs. As soon as some idiot cut off the engine or failed to yield, I'd slip from behind the fire engine and ticket the driver.

Yes, there is tension between Cops and Fire. I think it goes to the fact that everyone is happy when the Firemen arrive and very few people are happy when Cops arrive.
That being said, I had nothing but respect for the LAFD in my patrol area....

You wouldn't last 5 minutes in 50-75 pounds worth of turnout gear on a 100 plus degree day fighting a structure fire hoss! Its ok we understand that most of you cops have an inferiority complex and you feel inadequate because you were bullied growing up. Hey just because you didn't pass the tests to get into fire academy doesn't mean you have to spend the rest of your life hating the real heroes! LOL

It isn't that we suddenly love the police because we need them. We still hate the police but if we deal effectively with the situation ourselves (ie in the way that the police deal with such things) we break the law and become victims of the police in turn, so we have no choice but to call them, even though we hate the bastards.
