  • Good instructional video

  • For replacing the hinges only, you only need to pry up the lower half of the bezel. Also, the razor is too dangerous. A small flat blade screwdriver works well as you can slowly pry up the bezel without jeopardizing the LCD.

  • Nice video thank people like you deceiver a a thumbs up

  • the best way to do this is throw away ur old air and get a new one!

  • I know you specify exact model #s on your site but you should make it clear here on Youtube EXACTLY WHICH MODEL MACBOOK AIR these procedures apply to. I'm guessing that late 2010 Macbook Air 11/13 models do NOT use the same procedure?

  • @stevehoge - This is the 2009 model, not the new 2010. This video was posted long before the 2010 model came out.

  • Good video!! I just replaced the screen on my Air. Whatever you do, don't bend the bezel, or it'll be impossible to put back on, and I used a credit card to remove the bezel. Thanks powerbookmedic!

  • Change the title the "How To Disassemble Mac Book Air LCD Screen"

  • If you would show how to take the top portion of the laptop off the base before you begin to show how to replace the LCD that would have been the bomb. In any case, appreciate you a great deal.

  • but how to remove the clam shell in the first place? do you need to take apart all laptop first?

  • @covertintel - You can view our other videos for the complete disassembly process.

  • how did you get the screen removed in the first place?

  • @Tiberiu1Laticevschi - You can see our other videos for the complete disassembly process.

  • The screws attaching the hinges to the frame are T6 like most of the other torx heads on the laptop, not T7

  • There should be enough adhesive left to reattach the bezel.

  • Are you talking about the front bezel? Your best bet for that part is eBay.

  • do you know where I coul`d buy this thiny part of aluminum ?

  • We sell the LCDs at our site. The cables we occasionally sell, but your best bet is to buy a defunct screen on eBay and harvest the cables from it.

  • Hi, Thanks for posting this. I tried it and totally screwed my screen - it's really really hard. Anyway - now I need a new LCD (any particular model number?) and new cables - they got cut by the razor in places too. How do I even get the cables out of the lcd frame? Would very much appreciate some advice.

  • Putting it back together is easier than taking it apart. It goes back together very easily.

  • but how to stick it back /.? with some special gum ?or something like that ? I mean the final part that is thin .:) thank`s for the answer

  • Good movie! Thanks Powerbook Medic!

Only one question remaining before proceeding with my macbook air... How good all the things are coming back when you need to close it up?

  • wow... that's cool... now I need to get an mac book air... anyone want to give me one? eh?
