For replacing the hinges only, you only need to pry up the lower half of the bezel. Also, the razor is too dangerous. A small flat blade screwdriver works well as you can slowly pry up the bezel without jeopardizing the LCD.
I know you specify exact model #s on your site but you should make it clear here on Youtube EXACTLY WHICH MODEL MACBOOK AIR these procedures apply to. I'm guessing that late 2010 Macbook Air 11/13 models do NOT use the same procedure?
Good video!! I just replaced the screen on my Air. Whatever you do, don't bend the bezel, or it'll be impossible to put back on, and I used a credit card to remove the bezel. Thanks powerbookmedic!
If you would show how to take the top portion of the laptop off the base before you begin to show how to replace the LCD that would have been the bomb. In any case, appreciate you a great deal.
Hi, Thanks for posting this. I tried it and totally screwed my screen - it's really really hard. Anyway - now I need a new LCD (any particular model number?) and new cables - they got cut by the razor in places too. How do I even get the cables out of the lcd frame? Would very much appreciate some advice.
Good instructional video

@stevehoge - This is the 2009 model, not the new 2010. This video was posted long before the 2010 model came out.

The screws attaching the hinges to the frame are T6 like most of the other torx heads on the laptop, not T7

There should be enough adhesive left to reattach the bezel.

Are you talking about the front bezel? Your best bet for that part is eBay.

do you know where I coul`d buy this thiny part of aluminum ?

We sell the LCDs at our site. The cables we occasionally sell, but your best bet is to buy a defunct screen on eBay and harvest the cables from it.

Putting it back together is easier than taking it apart. It goes back together very easily.
