A big salam to the legendary Maestro from Bangladesh. An artist is universal.without any political Boundary. Art is for Art's sake. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan created a legend by fusing ancient Kawali with the modernism. He is a creator of new image in the music, rendered in this part of subcontinent. Salute to u Nusratji. May Allah give u a place in Heaven, where u belong. Ameen
yep NFAK himself said that all the qawwalis he did are an IRFANA KALAM so yep its to do with the divine! so it jus depends on the listeners interpretation..........
hey guys i would like say one thing all these Sufi ghazals or songs are from point of view of a lover where they consider God their beloved and when they talk about sharab ,it means the the state of absolute bliss which is 100 times grater than any state of being intoxicated .
Baba Bulle shah was a very famous Fakir who is believed have reached the higher level of consciousness .
if you love this you might wanna hear the Begam Abida Praveen ,she `s sung him beautifully .
This was a Kalaam written for Bulleh Shah's spiritual teacher's return. This song does have the literal meaning of a lover returning, but in actuality, this was written with a different interpretation in mind.
Although I don't speak Erdu and can not understand a word that's being sung, what I do understand is that I have been blessed to hear the music and feel the spirt of NFAK. His voice is that of an Angel of God, a being of light, a messenger whose purpose is to uplift all people and bring them to a place where they see/feel a glimpse of the Divine. I was blessed to see him at the Greek Theater in Berkely, CA just before his death. His music is Eternal for all people, all cultures. I am in Awe!
These are one of the most popular lyrics by Sufi poet Buleh Shah (more than 200 years ago). "Ghryal" is clock and its ticking is a reminder of passage of time. "Since I am with my loved one so please throw away the clock. I do not want this time of union to pass away". The lyrics really capture the height of emotions at the time of union.
us ko apna baap bana le . tere maan bhi khush rahe ge tere altaf bhai se. sala khud aish karta hai aur tum jaise tatoon ko peche laga deta hai.tujhe kabhi aa ke kuch dia hai us madar chot nain jo barh kar us terrorist kay bare main baat kar raha hai.
ye altaf bhai ka chamcha kahan se aa giya yahan. us chutu ne saara karachi bombings se nehla diya aur tu saaley usko leader bolta ha.aaj Pakistan mein eak bhi leader nahi jo kuch ker sake sab ko qatal ker dena chahye
the land of pakistan is for muslims it is pure not to be sullied by language of nationalism Assabiyah Allah's rasool has called this type of call as worse than biting your dead fathers penis! So beware and if ur muslim call towards thats good (islam) and forbid the evil.
He was mughal...you can also see it from his features..Moghuls are originally from central asia...they were from any where else before they came to Afghanistan then india Pakistan.
i fell in love with nusrats music since i was 8. now im 20.... i listen to nuttin but nusrat day and night. this is a favourite song of mine. there will never be another . RIP
Sir, kindly retract your defamatory statement, because it illuminates your soul, and anyone with such a soul should not have it illuminated in public.
you have to understand the lyrics are part of asian folkore/culture/heritage he writes the music and melodies as well as fusing different poems together to create lyrics out of them. Thus qawalli is created.
alot of people take this qawwali in the wrong context. This is a relgious account of Lal Badshah returning from battle. People take it to mean about the common love between a man and woman, when it is not.The indian version is vulgar as it demeans the historical meaning of this wonderful qawaali by a legend.
I happened to hear him before he was that famous. I heard him and recorded a 4 hour spool in 1973 in Batala Colony, Babar Chowck, Lyallpur. bless him, a ture master. khalid
I have read Jeff Buckley interviewing Nusrat. What I most remember is "...what the listener NEEDS to hear, the listener WILL hear." this is one of the better vids i've seen. thank you so very much for posting this.
It is not necessary to understand a word that Khan is singing to understand that his voice is that of an angel, a messenger of god. I was blessed to see him perform live in Berkeley, California shortly before his death. His music endures for all time.
this is a great qawalli. piya ghar aaya sano allah milaya. that's so true. once you find unconditional love for yourself and this world, you really do find god. i wish the message of nusrat fateh ali khan would get in the head's of politicians and business people around the world.
could anyone named that 10 person who dislike this video im gonna hack them"seriously

Here are the answers to your questions;
Q.1 what is that he says after...aaavo ni sayoon ral devo ni vaadai...
Answer: He says "man were paya sona mahi". It means that I found a match who is very handsome.
Q.2 what is this "hun hoya ghazal kaamaal di"
Answer: He says " hoya fazal kamaal ni". Fazal is blessing. It means that finding you has been a great blessing for me.

here is the rest:
And sing many beautiful songs
Since big and mighty are also coming
So after much persuasion my beloved has come and now parting is out of question
My beloved has come home
rayhaan23 5 years ago
Here is the eng trans:
Strike the bell-gong to announce the arrival of my beloved
O beauties, my beloved has come home God has united me with my beloved And now torments me himself
The continues striking of the bell-gong curtails the period of the night of our togetherness
Whoever understands my emotions I'l1 throw away the bell-gong for him
