  • could anyone named that 10 person who dislike this video im gonna hack them"seriously

  • A big salam to the legendary Maestro from Bangladesh. An artist is universal.without any political Boundary. Art is for Art's sake. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan created a legend by fusing ancient Kawali with the modernism. He is a creator of new image in the music, rendered in this part of subcontinent. Salute to u Nusratji. May Allah give u a place in Heaven, where u belong. Ameen

  • Most beautiful voice and music. RIP Nusrat.

  • yep NFAK himself said that all the qawwalis he did are an IRFANA KALAM so yep its to do with the divine! so it jus depends on the listeners interpretation..........

  • hey guys i would like say one thing all these Sufi ghazals or songs are from point of view of a lover where they consider God their beloved and when they talk about sharab ,it means the the state of absolute bliss which is 100 times grater than any state of being intoxicated .

Baba Bulle shah was a very famous Fakir who is believed have reached the higher level of consciousness .

if you love this you might wanna hear the Begam Abida Praveen ,she `s sung him beautifully .

  • and its not in urdu it is punjabi

  • who cares what language it is in

  • it is a romantic song sung by a woman whose husband is coming home.

  • This was a Kalaam written for Bulleh Shah's spiritual teacher's return. This song does have the literal meaning of a lover returning, but in actuality, this was written with a different interpretation in mind.

  • Excellent dear thanks for This video.

  • Although I don't speak Erdu and can not understand a word that's being sung, what I do understand is that I have been blessed to hear the music and feel the spirt of NFAK. His voice is that of an Angel of God, a being of light, a messenger whose purpose is to uplift all people and bring them to a place where they see/feel a glimpse of the Divine. I was blessed to see him at the Greek Theater in Berkely, CA just before his death. His music is Eternal for all people, all cultures. I am in Awe!

  • its in punjabi buddy

  • i like this song

  • bless. he was one of a kind, a true musical powerhouse.

  • What a divine performance! I thank God for His creation. Perfect music.

  • You mean the voice of Rahat Fatah ali Khan?

  • although i cannot understand the lyrics, it still sounds beautiful...

  • Its not annoying in this song cos I think it compliments NFA's amazing voice, in that sense it adds another dimension to an already amazing tune.

  • Don't worry if you can't understand it....just FEEL it, it's beautiful. Beutiful music breaks all language and cultural barriers!

  • i could nor agree more , legends like NFK don't belong to any one country or even culture they belong to the whole humanity

  • Nusrat does real justice to Bulle Shah...jr

  • azına sağlık gardaş

  • azına sağlık gardaş

  • Here are the answers to your questions;

Q.1 what is that he says after...aaavo ni sayoon ral devo ni vaadai...

Answer: He says "man were paya sona mahi". It means that I found a match who is very handsome.

Q.2 what is this "hun hoya ghazal kaamaal di"

Answer: He says " hoya fazal kamaal ni". Fazal is blessing. It means that finding you has been a great blessing for me.

  • YAH SNADEEP IF U cheeck bhulle shah poetry u can find there it,s bhulle shah poetry

  • this not only singing...it is also poetry...you know what i mean if you can understand it

  • ironically, It was poetry before composed into qawwali. It is also the same with nearly all of qawwali.

  • wat?

  • his works were copied by many musicians around the world...

    He is the Best

    thanks for posting his vidieos

  • what a great tune created by Nusrat for this poetry, amazing.

  • These are one of the most popular lyrics by Sufi poet Buleh Shah (more than 200 years ago). "Ghryal" is clock and its ticking is a reminder of passage of time. "Since I am with my loved one so please throw away the clock. I do not want this time of union to pass away". The lyrics really capture the height of emotions at the time of union.

  • Thank you for this small translation.

  • Please excuse me I hit the wrong hand. Your translation was most helpful.

  • god bless him, legendry singer

  • I don't think there has ever been a singer so great like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. May god bless his soul.

  • Nusrat brought the spiritual beauty of the Qawwali to the world. He is sorely missed.

  • mera piya ghar aya

  • N F A Khan Lives n will Live!!!

  • you have to understand the lyrics are part of asian folkore/culture/heritage he writes the music and melodies as well as fusing different poems together to create lyrics out of them. Thus qawalli is created.

  • Oh wow. Nice nice song.

But Rahat is really getting on my nerves.

  • i think hindi song ripped from this... mera piya ghar aaya... oh ramji..

  • Magnificient! Brought me to tears and gave me goose pimples. Rayhaan Thanks for the translation.

  • here is the rest:

    And sing many beautiful songs

Since big and mighty are also coming

So after much persuasion my beloved has come and now parting is out of question

    My beloved has come home

  • Here is the eng trans:

Strike the bell-gong to announce the arrival of my beloved

O beauties, my beloved has come home God has united me with my beloved And now torments me himself

The continues striking of the bell-gong curtails the period of the night of our togetherness

Whoever understands my emotions I'l1 throw away the bell-gong for him

  • alot of people take this qawwali in the wrong context. This is a relgious account of Lal Badshah returning from battle. People take it to mean about the common love between a man and woman, when it is not.The indian version is vulgar as it demeans the historical meaning of this wonderful qawaali by a legend.

  • eeehhh i've heard better

  • I happened to hear him before he was that famous. I heard him and recorded a 4 hour spool in 1973 in Batala Colony, Babar Chowck, Lyallpur. bless him, a ture master. khalid

  • Nusrat Lives!

  • I have read Jeff Buckley interviewing Nusrat. What I most remember is "...what the listener NEEDS to hear, the listener WILL hear." this is one of the better vids i've seen. thank you so very much for posting this.

  • It is not necessary to understand a word that Khan is singing to understand that his voice is that of an angel, a messenger of god. I was blessed to see him perform live in Berkeley, California shortly before his death. His music endures for all time.

  • I can't understand a word he's singing, but the singing is enough for me.

  • The Master The energy amazing, Dildar on Tabla superb.

One of the nicest persons I have ever met. Nusrat lives

on. For Farukh and the support group just could not ask for more in any performance ever. WOW. Brilliant.

  • awsome...cant no word explain dis legend

  • A True masterpiece from a True Master. He was a true legend.

  • R.I.P nusrat fateh ali khan :(

  • Nuzrat fateh ali khan ....so entrancing....only god inspired folks can sing like this...an indian in canada salutes the master..you will live forever

  • if there was only "Yeh Jo Halka Halka Saroor Hai" on video some where i could die a happy man.

  • hahaha i used to hear my little cousin sing this aaalll the time in pakistan, i never knew it was because she heard him singing it...lol

  • Probably none. Most of the lyrics stretch back as far as the 13th century.

  • Pretty much. He just sang Sufi poetry and some stuff that was written for him. Halka Suroor and Allah Hoo were written by his manager.

  • this is a great qawalli. piya ghar aaya sano allah milaya. that's so true. once you find unconditional love for yourself and this world, you really do find god. i wish the message of nusrat fateh ali khan would get in the head's of politicians and business people around the world.

  • the king of qawwali

  • he was a legend!

  • the best qawwali artist of all time, may he rest in peace
