Another ' lost ' classic from your great repetoire Jim, keep it up , you seem to find all the lost gems that should have been a monster hit, remember Kenny Everitt enthused over it in the days when Radio 1 & 2 were occasionally combined. Thanks for posting.
I heard this song for the first time this morning on the Brian Matthew show, Sounds of the 60's on Radio 2. I agree, it is a great song & superior to Can't let Maggie go. Thank goodness for youtube again, now I can save it to my favourites.!!
Yes, I agree...beautiful record. Should have been a hit. Maybe a bit slow for radio in 1967. Doesn't quite get going...drones on a bit. Not that I don't love it.
Many thanks for this, Jimmy. I would concur with all of your comments 110%, were it not for the fact that I also love the track, 'Can't Let Maggie Go'. Lyrically 'Do I Still Figure' blows it out of the water, and the string quartet writing is beautifully crafted. Nevertheless, the oboe in 'Maggie', the vocal harmonies, the lovely melody and the perfect marriage between bass guitar & bass drum produce a fabulous result in my humble opinion. 'Do I Still Figure'? A masterpiece! 'Maggie'? Close!
So nostalgic of summer 2010.

A much better song than Maggie , perhaps it was just too classy to be a hit. Samantha Jones did the best cover-version of this forgotten classic.

One of my all time favourites, along with Maggie. Seek out also, if you can, another sublime Dello composition, Julie In My Heart.

LOVE the video. Brilliant.

Checkout Samantha Jones (ex Vernon Girl) version too. That has the same arrangement and she sings it really well, slightly faster. I like it.
