  • The ultimate lazyness... use chemistry for dish washing :D

  • dude just use oven cleaner its the same damn thing

  • If you just done a murder. And you want to cleanse the scene. You mix this solution with bleach topically and scrub the place all over. Of course you would be wrapped head to toe in a body suit so you don't leave any trace of yourself.

Then use luminol under UV light to see if you left any strains.

    Motse in Botswana, Africa.

  • at least his drains are as clean as his brain cells.

  • not even wearing eye goggles i hope he goes blind.

  • 1:30 is exactly where the lung damage occurred. thats how fast it can happen.

  • what your breathing in is pure hydrogen witch can explode also at work when we use it we have to use full respirators/gas mask with venting fans with super thick gloves and think apron and chem suit and we don't even have access to it its locked away and even we dont use it we bring people in that how dangerous this stuff is for the love of god dont any one try with out proper education this will kill you if your not careful

  • I appreciate the tip but the music background becomes noise when unnecessary, distracting and unwanted. I suppose what I'm getting at is... thumbs up for the tip... thumbs up for the video.

  • Dude!!! it's add the lye or Drano in this case to the water. Not the water to the Drano! That is so dangerous! It doesn't even have to be hot water. The chemical reaction of adding it to the water will heat it to boiling.

  • @cooksalot1 not really im a chem student and that rule only applies to acids , and how is that dangerous other than his complete disregard for safety equipment lol

  • You can also soak it in baking soda, water and white vinegar. Why use Drano, geez.

  • if you do this, don't use the pan until you wash it about two,or three, or sixteen times.

  • ....Or you use some steel wool and some elbow grease.

    Cheaper, easier, faster.

  • Never do that on a aluminum pan or else the NaOH will eat the aluminum.

  • You must be one of those young geniuses who start life off in a flash while still wearing diapers.

I've said it that way to give a hint at how NaOH could be produced, I think it's the clori-alkali process I think. Where you exploit electrolysis to attract the disassociated sodium and chlorine at their corresponding electrodes. Then use a membrane to keep the resulting lye water and chlorinated water from mixing. All from using saltwater.

There is a lot of disinfo out there, be care fool.

  • can one drink drano diluted to a ph of 9?

  • Yes. You can drink lava as well, both will probably kill you. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.

  • @nucleochemist "both will probably kill you."

no, Lava will kill you. It's temperature will burn your mouth and insides. Isn't that common sense?

Do you even know what NaOH is? Saltwater without it's clorine counterpart. Which you can separate by electrolysis with a membrane between the two electrodes. People drink what's called "alkaline water' doing that. Says it's supposed to make your bones strong by counteracting the acidic diet that a majority of people and disolve fatty acids

  • I suppose your right about the lava, I wasnt thinking about that one.

Yes I know what sodium hydroxide is - I use it regularly as I am a chemist. "Saltwater without it's clorine counterpart. " is a incorrect way of looking at it, and all of my colleagues would agree, as would just about every chemistry teacher on the planet.

  • Drinking alkaline water is bullshit-new-age-crap that makes no sense, for a start, it will all be neutralized by the stomach, which is (relatively) dilute hydrochloric acid. The human body is full of natural 'buffers' which are mixtures of substances which resist a change in pH. This is because biological systems must operate at precise pH.

  • NaOH certainly will by HCl. But you've still not answered my question. Can you drink Drano diluted to a pH of 9? or are their heavy metals and other such toxins present to fool with your system. And I don't appreciate your vitriol. It's a tell tale sign of a person who thinks he's an expert.

All foods leave either an acidic or alkaline ash as it's metabolized, my point is, drinking alkaline water neutralizes the foods in your diet that are acidic, giving ease to your body's buffer systems.

  • whats the song called

  • dude NaOH vapours are bad for you lungs

  • how about the bottom??

  • Where did you get your sodium hydroxide?

  • drano is sodium hydroxide and caustic soda

  • sodium hydroxide IS caustic soda.

  • great chemist great movie

    keep going dude

  • Dude! It really works but this is overkill! You are cutting butter with a chainsaw. Its not worth breathing lye mist. I use trisodium phosphate which has a pH of 13 in hot water with dawn detergent. It turns burnt on crud to gelatin in 30 minutes! A lot safer since Trisodium phosphate does not "fume" and it takes longer to burn skin.

  • For the people who seem to think its a bad idea to eat off that pan take into consideration lye is used in industry to clean all types of food contact surfaces. Granted mostly stainles steel and NEVER aluminum.

  • eating off that cant be good LMFAO

  • I'm surprised Darwin didn't show up in this video

  • Many people tend to take acids too serious, and underestimate lye (Strong alkali). Acids when dilute, are practically non-hazardous unless you drink it, get it in your eye, or leave it for an hour on your skin. Concentrated hydrochloric acid is also not so dangerous, only fumes are irritating. You won't burn you skin unless you leave it exposed for minutes. Conc. sulfuric or nitric are bad.

But lye is the worst. Bases are extremely destructive of human tissue.

  • Eating from that pan later does not pose any hazard, after rinsing well and pouring some vinegar.

You should't also get too excited about lye. When you get it on your skin, rinse quickly until the slippery feeling dissappears, and you are fine. If you spill boiling hot lye on your skin, you have problems.

Lye in your eye is the most dangerous property of this chemical. Concentrated lye will blind you almost certainly! Goggles!

  • Sir, that was pollution. You look like a strong man; little elbow grease would do the job fine!!

  • pour venger on it ...how ever you spell that

  • Exactly. I hope it doesn't end up being swallowed by getting into your food. I agree with the previous commentor becareful.

  • Dude you need full face cover when playing with lye! You're coughing because the lye fumes are burning your lungs! You can dissolve an entire human body in this shit - be careful!

  • thanx man i've been trying to find some lye for weeks shit no one told me darno was lye

  • "cough" dude, thats dangerous your cough was a result of te fumes...

u can become blind if some spritzes is your eyes...

  • yeah reson i looked @ this is this is what they use to dip cars to remove paint hot dip or whatever lol yeah im gonna eat off that lmao use chemestry it cleanst ur mess and ur lungs

  • Comment removed

  • While I do agree it is very very stupid to plan on eating from that pan, consuming NaOH in small amounts is generally not fatal.

  • Are you NUTS!! You can't even stand to BREATH the air with all those fumes and you plan to EAT from that pan now?? Buddy, you best schedule your chimo apointments now. Those fumes are going straight to your lungs...uhhh hello?? ever heard of CANCER???

    NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!!

  • From sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite? Not likely.

Both are used extensively in food prep, both for cleaning and in some cases in the food itself.

  • do you not see that he neutralizes it?

    damn

  • i LOVE your kitchen sink. Tell me, please, who makes it?

  • I have no idea :) bougth it about 5 years ago at the castorama hardware store - it is stainless steel and it was on sale for something like 100 Polish Zloty (i.e. around $25) What is great about it, that unlike other sinks like this, this one has a structured surface, therefore you realy don't see any scratches on it.
