At the back of the book the author writes how she had a black maid as a young girl, but the stories within the book are not real. Although me and my friend were sure it was real until we read the book.

I thought that the movie was very racist and anti work. Its saying that black people feel like they shouldn't have to work, and I don't believe that. It starts by saying that this woman was mad that she had to raise white kids instead of sitting at home with her own. But you should have to work to feed your kids. Work is doing something for someone else. No one should be asked to pay for any woman to sit on her ass and raise her kids except the father of those kids.

I think the brilliance of the book is that it shows that in this hateful time, there were some black people and white people who cared for each other despite the world telling them not to. I personally liked Aibileen, Minny, and Skeeter and they were all very different characters that united for an important cause. Can't wait to see the movie!!!
