  • This is one of the best videos about karate I've ever seen, simply, Wado-Ryu rocks and I'am pretty sorrow I don't have aby wado ryu dojo near by, infact in Mexico there is maybe two or three wado ryu dojos and nothing more, it's sad.

    Manny

  • PRO!

  • Thanks for the demonstration , sensei Daniel , really very good !

  • this is prolly some of the better karate i have seen in awhile im so glad they kept the whole karate jutsu theme to it instaed of the katare do stuff...karate jutsu it is and should be!!!very good!

  • This video compelled me to search out a good Wado school in my area and I've been at it for a few months now and love it. Thanks sensei for your inspired video.

  • This is my first time seeing this style. It seems to be one stop shoping. Very practical for self defense.

  • i train te same style and its awesome

  • Wow!!! Finally some takedowns that are Wado :D Love this video :)

  • thumbs up if you train karate ;D

  • @DrCameltoe Actually I train aikido but it´s ok!

  • nice uniform

  • @xxxN1nJa5k1LZxxx i mean the blue one

  • I aspire to be like this guy. I enjoy Wado Ryu, it gives me a constant positive mind.

  • I keep coming back to this vid. It's the most inspiring karate vid I've seen on YouTube. Great job. It made me sign up for Wado Ryu classes (lucky there's one close by!)

  • my brother studied Wado Ryu in Hokkaido Japan when he was stationed there. He didn't show as many tricks as these guys do here, but it was a very logical, powerful form of Karate.

  • how to download this video

  • Cool Video !!!!!!!!!!

  • very good fight !!!

  • We have a Wado Ryu school nearby taught by Akira Onada. Some of the hand techniques are a curiosity to me. They seem very influenced by Chinese martial arts- grappling and striking. But I'm not sure Wado Ryu is Okinawan or more Japanese. Looks like a very balanced complete style of karate. After doing Goju and finding some things wanting from it, I might check this out.

  • i have to say, this has inspired me to start Wado Ryu again.

Since my club ran out of money to keep running, do you have any links to other clubs in Bristol? Not to far away from i live, every one i find on internet is in town. i live sooo many miles away from town. please PM me

  • I have seen a lot of crap on YouTube but this really is one of the best martial arts vids on here no matter the style. Great show of this karateka's skills and nicely edited together with Hans Zimmer's Gladiator. Makes for a very poetic presentation of martial arts. Osu!

  • THIS REALLY IS THE BEST KARATE MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN:D

  • This is cool

  • This is true Wado-Ryu NOT Karate with Judo thrown in. Please keep in mind that many of the old Martial Arts pioneers shared many techniques and did not separate and segregate themselves like many of today's traditional “purists”. Ohtsuka OSensei, the founder of Wado-Ryu Karate, was a known contemporary of Kano OSensei the founder of Judo and they were both trained in Japanese forms of JuJitsu that had many similarities.

  • @Seija111 i'd say there are less purists today, hence MIXED martial arts

  • Hello, Very nice dojo. I would be interested in who your Sensei is, or who you trained in Wado under. Very nice Ukemi.

  • Your Blue Belt need some applause he certainly takes a good whacking here, your Judo skills are excellent, lovely looking Dojo, I'm Jealous. Kind regards to you all.

  • That was a good video Im with wado kai and alot of those move look very much the same

  • You are actually quite a good Judoka!

  • i do the same :)

  • good kicking technique at the end

  • Would like to learn this type of Karate

  • Excellent video!

  • Beautiful video!!!!! Actually I don't knew Wado ryu yet... what beautiful art!

  • Nice demo! I love the throws (mainly because they're my personal area of weakness, but you made them look easy) Kudos!

  • Looks like fun lol. I miss my Shaolin Kempo dojo...basically karaty+jujitsu+KF. Seems similar to this. Great demo indeed!

  • This is Wado Ryu and Jujutsu. Am I right? Because I'm seeing lot of jujutsu techniques in there.

    Amazing video.

  • @toastyzone

The creator of Wado Ryu had studied Yoshin Ryu Ju jitsu before studying Shotokan Karate. Wado Ryu is like an early modern day mma style as far as its creator seeing the need to combine striking with grappling.

  • i love karate :)

  • osu, thanks for sharing i like it... more videos plz? ;)

  • this guy is AMAZING

I see a lot of skills of judo, ninjutsu and a bit of aikido

    awesome job

    keep training :)

  • wow, great vid what balance and style. love the throws

  • Just wanted to tell you all how i've now been in 7 wado ryu practises now.

It's awesome and i'm loving it.

The exercises are hardcore and will keep you in shape.

The people you're with are very polite and friendly.

I got help at the first practise.

I wouldn't suggest buying the kimono right away incase you quit - it's not that cheap.

Still everybody who are in desperate need of a workout should go learn wado ryu.

Thanks for the maker of this video.

  • this is a great vid it shows the purity of wado ryu

  • OSU

  • Ive been thinking of taking up karate as a means of self-defense and i know from research that i have a good club that teaches the wado-ryu style, anyway i was wondering if people could give me abit of feeddback and tell me if its a good and effective style for self-defense?Thanks alot :)

  • @BoxingBadBoy77 i did wado ryu for 4 years from 1992-1996 it is a very good style it doesnt do much with the flashy nonsense it is straight to point of disable the attacker as this video shows if one wants a flashy style this isnt for them

  • they have judo skills too =D

    amazing =D

  • Impressive

  • do you know any Wado Ryu clubs in Bristol???? because the one i went to closed down because there wasnt enough people, i was only purple belt getting ready to take my brown, then people just started leaving for some reason.

  • These guys are amazing. I hope I will be able to learn these moves in future.

  • whats the name of the song?

  • @SirJimmy555 Now we are free by Lisa Gerrard. Gladiator soundtrack.

  • i like your incorporation of akido, judo and jujutsu in your video, very well rounded and excellent technique demonstrated

  • @cstellmach thats because wado is the culmination of the best of every great japanese art

  • @justaguy2001 i agree fully, i have trained in wado kai for the last 14 years, thanks for your reply!

  • Very Good.

  • awesome music awesome karate

  • @SeimeidoTV I understand. Awsome vid though!

  • Nice video and music. I do karate but not this type of karate I do shito-ryu karate

  • amazing vid :D

  • I have a red belt in Wado ryu karate do under Soke Hirano in Hawaii. Bravo on the video I am definitly a fan of your strong waza.

  • nice, thanks

  • that was great, youtube lacks in wado-ryu vids, we need more vid promoting it. Wado-ryu really brings out the peaceful part of karate and yet a vicious part as well. DAMN, i love karate and all martial arts

  • @mitsirugi1 yea i used to do this style during a very hard time and yu can really find peace when yu enter the dojo.I had to stop when they moved far away from where i lived i was just an orange, but i felt good that i could defeat a rank two times mine in taekwando

  • Beatiful.

  • as a fellow practitioner of Karate-jutsu, i have to say that was fantastic stuff. The power on those throws was impressive.

Awesome stuff. Thank you for posting.

  • Very Very Beautiful. This is the real karate-do.. throwing techniques, key, atemi waza....one of the most beautiful demonstration i ever seen...There is some Aiki influence here...good
