  • Hand Of Blood,Tuuuunnneeee

  • Woah i love bullet for my valentine

  • theres also a way to remove the vocals aswell, very handy tool this is.

  • @HaloPownage1 hahaha that's funny

  • you have the smoothest voice dude.. and audacity really helped thanx

  • thats awesome man!! I'm working on playing songs by ear now and once I get a new pc this is what I plan on installing on said new pc.

  • Yeah how do u fucking get songs from itunes on that?

  • @MyAssStings

    Just drag n drop.

  • Im still trying to import a song from my iTunes to Audacity, can you help me with that?

  • @moviesfromLJ You have to create a WAV version of the song. To do this, right click on the song and go to create WAV version. After clicking on that, a second version of the song will appear on your iTunes. Next, go to audacity and open up the iTunes library. Go to the band with the song you just did and you should be able to open it onto audacity

  • @moviesfromLJ

    Just drag n drop.

  • dude i cant figure out the name of this song!!!

  • @shrederbouy1 Hand of blood- bullet for my valentine

  • @shrederbouy1 hand of blood

  • which song was using?

  • You would be a badass call of duty commentator lols! You sound exactly like WoodysGamertag

  • excellent help on figuring out songs by ear!

  • what song is that example?

  • dude thank you so much :) I actually managed to learn a song I thought would be impossible at my level :)

  • ...Just realized that Hand Of Blood is like "The Change Of Seasons" By Dream Theater!

  • whats the name of the song your using as a example

  • @eLeCtRoFrEaK0036 Hand Of Blood, Bullet For MY Valentine

  • @eLeCtRoFrEaK0036 Hand Of Blood, Bullet For My Valentine

  • HE TALKS

  • Friend did not you do a tutorial on how to make the guitar sound good as your video? PLEASE I guess you do it with audacity not?

  • Tnamks sooooo much! :D

  • I have audacity and use it to record all the Time. It's an AMAZING program.

  • thabks

  • just because you listen to a track over and over again doesn't mean you will learn the song

  • @Atothefourth its called ear training

  • @Atothefourth I am not trying to be rude or mean brother quite the contrary. However I would like to point out if you after doing THIS 20 or 30 times can't pick out this intro of the song he put up then I think it's either time to put the guitar away, or learn and get a little better at playing before making a comment like that mate. It really just becomes a matter of feeling out the notes play a note on 1 string till it sounds like the very first note in the song, sounds good, move on ect.

  • thanks so much for posting this

this is going to help sooo much

  • great song. hand of blood

  • I downloaded it an it doesnt work. When I import audio tracks i just get a squeaking noise for a split second. please help xD

  • @Seandude223 make sure you're using an mp3 file. that happened to me with my recording. use your preferred software to change the file to mp3 or use itunes. import your songs like normal. go into edit - preferences then under your CD import options use the mp3 encoder. after importing your song, you might have to find your song and right click, create mp3 version. copy it out if you want to find it easier.

  • @Seandude223 its because the audio track needs to be an mp3 file and i thing WAV also, hope this helps

  • Thanks, Thanks, Thanks again

  • Where do you get your drum backups from ? and do you use them on aidacity?

  • JESUS CHRIST, look at that waveform

  • this video is useless now since guitar pro kicks major ass but some songs arrent as accurate as tabs but helps 100.94343435446344430454% more

  • good but you can do this stuff on guitar pro and its much more realstic to use, just torrent it or buy it, worth the money

  • really healpfull = thanks

  • bullet for my valentine hand of blood

  • wow! this would be really helpful :D

    thanks bro..

  • fuck guitar pro AUDACITY FTW! lol

  • haha this will come in handy for making rock band network songs o.O

  • hii there,

is there also a way to record my guitar sound (usb) with it?

  • @DJ0KNUF

Yeah i use a Line6 POD XT pedal plug it in by USB play a backing track and play guitar over it while i record. You need to go into Edit, Preferences and change the recording device to the recording device that you want to use. Hope that made sense.

  • This helps if u have a Floyd rose

  • OK...I understand that an instrument can't be completely eliminated from mix. Can it be diminished/reduced/mitigated to point that it is very faint? I'd like to reduce gain of guitar but a "whisper" of guitar track could actually be helpful.

  • hey for some reason when i click "effect" from the top menu bar, i cant select anything like change pitch or change tempo. what do i do to make it work?

  • Is there a way to convert an audio file to FFmpeg format? Because that's what it's telling me to do, but I can't find anything online for converting..... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Thumbs up if your from the country where Audacity came from

  • or you could just get guitar pro....which does everything

  • @pisspore Guitar Pro is great for writing and reading tabs, but it doesn't help you with transcribing music. This is video only explains how you can learn a song without tabs. If you don't bother learning the song by ear (I haven't done it yet myself), then Guitar Pro is kickass.

  • ooooh ! :D

  • sir can you pls post a tutorial on how to sync the backing tracks to the recorded guitar on audacity i have a big problem on having them sync thanks i would be a lot of help keep on rockin & more power to your awesome playin...\m/

  • Thank you :)

it was really nice of you to take some time and help out viewers

  • awsome ty! i wanted to edit some metallica so james hetfields guitar wasnt in...

  • How can you isolate the lead guitar parts in an instrumental song..for example a paul gilbert piece.

  • now all videos have fucked up audio does any one know how to fix this

  • audacity fucked with my audio because my brother tried to get rid of the vocals of dying in your arms by trivium now when i listen to the song on youtube there are no vocals and you can only hear one guitar during the solo what can i do to fix this

  • lol left right i ddin't knew that :O!, thxx

  • I prefer Guitar Pro : )

  • extremly helpful!

  • tell me that u just use this program and learn it by ear????

  • only way to get instrument by separated is pconvert the song to midi right? :D

  • I myself and thousands of other guitarst-muscians would love for you to make a video about how u record!! i know you explain it through your website but I think you could explain things and have visuals about how u play better in a video! It could be alot of fun! it could give your subscribers and fans something new from you that could benifit from! Just think about it killrbuckeye

  • Thanks dude for this tutorial! :)

  • what song is that :o

  • @VICyufei hand of blood by bullet for my valentine.

  • Thanks, I used audacity for a while now, but I didn't know that you can change the pitch :D

  • Nice =) BULLET FOR LIFE!!

  • So that's what your voice sounds like. Did not expect that.

  • Hello ive been wondering how you record the video though? becuase i dont have a webcam i have a regualr digital camera which is how a record all my vids and usually the quality comes out bad ;( so i understand how to record audio now but how do you match up the audio with video? How do you do it? Thanks in advance :)

  • what version do you use? i'll be waiting for your reply sir

    thanks!

  • Great thanks for this easy introduction, it helped me a lot to fix a wrong tab for the intro of 'Horizons' by Parkway Drive=)

  • i got a question.

could you remove the drum and the vocals just to hear the guitar part. and if not could u at least lower it or something?

  • there's a way to do something sorta like that... send me a pm if you haven't found a way yet.

  • Since the audio file is all packed in one MP3 or other file, you can't seperate drums, vocals or guitar. But if you use a couple of effects, you can almost totaly silence them. Audacity is also great for recording, easy to use and it's the best freeware I could find over the internet.

  • whats the site to download it ?

  • @deadbyaprilowns

just google it : download audacity

  • audacitydotsourceforgedotnet

Replace "dot" with an actual ".".

  • Bullet for my Valentine! Lovely ^^

  • is there anyway to block the voclas and leave the guitar parts?

  • how do i get the files onto audacity?

  • is there a way to completely remove guitar parts from the track, and just make it into a backing track if you get what i mean? -thanks

  • No, that's not really possible on a mixed stereo track.

  • thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @KillrBuckeye well you can keep audacity up, and then channel to the left or right,

the press play and record yourself on camera

but other than that, there's no other way

  • @KillrBuckeye what about a mono track?

  • @BonJoviBeatlesLedZep Sorry, not much you can do with a mono track in terms of separating guitar parts.

  • @KillrBuckeye Okay, sounds dumb anyway. Do you have Sony Vegas? If you do, can you make a tutorial on adding proper distortion to sounds using Vegas, or better yet, how to do it on Audacity? (if possible)

  • @jshow420

Jam Vox does a decent job

  • @jshow420 It is possible to remove guitar solos, but you have to use JamVox

  • @jshow420 you can doit on garage band

  • guitar pro is so much better and easier

  • btw u can also remove lyrics with Audacity thats wat i do when i want to learn a song ... check out Audacity totorials on youtube

  • pretty cool, nice features.

  • well, its a good idea, but i find getting the powertab for the song, then slowing it down and trying to play it with it and speed it up as a i go along

  • Thanks for this! This will really help me out with a couple of sweeps I've been trying to figure out!

  • Thanks! These are some great features of Audacity that I didn't know about.

  • i downloaded this, its amazing, works great

  • merci !

  • is this virus free

  • yes i've got it and I have no problems at all with it

  • guitar pro

  • @sgtluke5 ha u awesome. I use TuxGuitar and it's free and AWESOME. but i guess guitar pro really is the best

  • is there any way to get a computer program that shows guitar tab insted or notes as i carnt read music if so plz can u let me know buy the way im a big fan of your songs

  • @Slip407 USE TUXGUITAR. I don't know if you learned music or anything by now. But I'm a keyboard player for a band, now learning guitar and you can download guitar pro files that play the music and show you the tab AND the notes.

  • I'm trying to also use Audacity to record my guitar, it's only getting random noise on my computer, but not my guitar. I do hear the guitar, but it won't record it for some reason.

  • Thank you ! I've never thought of using audacity this way before. I believe it will help

  • lol, me too. I've only been using it to make dog whistles, chipmunk effects, and making Through the Fire and Flames sound like a flea is singing it.

  • Thank You :)

  • this is awesome i just downloaded it and have been playing around with it but how did you get the high part of the guitar seperate from the low part of the guitar?

  • Some albums are recorded such that 2 distinct guitar parts are panned to the left and right, so you can separate them to some extent by panning all the way to one side. However, other albums have the guitar parts centered, and there's no way to separate those guitars.

  • very cool! im gonna go get it now, but yea i think this will help a lot, and i always wondered what ur voice sounded like hah

  • I never thought of that panning thing, I new that in some songs guitar parts are panelled, but I never thought to use that as a learning feature, thanks for opening my eyes a bit! and would you tell me what soundcard you use for your recording? I'm looking for a good recording one and if anyone knows lemme know!

  • I was using a SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum for most of my covers, but now I use my POD X3 as an external audio interface.

  • ive had this program for a while, and its great

i use it to edit audio mainly

  • what song

  • wow..this helped ALOT.

    thanks man.

  • I´ve downloaded this programm 1 year ago

and its very useful to learn fast powerchord solos

  • Great points bro.. Thanks :D

  • thanks bud.

  • Audacity is for mac too. you might want to change the description.

  • Good point. ;-) Although usually if stuff works on Linux, it will work on Mac.

  • Hey killr, just a question seeing as how you know your computers and guitars.

are there any free programs on the internet where you can add effects and what not when you play through the computer?

not sure you if you my jist, but reply at will.

  • theres plenty, best is probobly REAPER, but its difficult to get used to, however half an hour on youtube looking at tutorials should be enough.

  • do you know how to convert audacity audio to play in itunes ? thanks

  • Any audio that you import into Audacity should be able to be played in iTunes, as it's most likely in WAV or MP3 format.

  • Can you remove particular instruments, in Audacity? A reply would be greatly appreciated.

  • No, there's no way to completely remove an instrument from a stereo mix.

  • how do i figure out bass?

  • @jabez36 use bass boost

  • where do i get this ? thanks

  • @TheGuitarist23666 , go to File, then Export, and choose what ever format u want.

  • thank you very much, you explained this very well

  • thank you!

  • this is how i got into bfmv just from that one part thanks! :)

  • Wooow, essential trick to learn solos!"""""!!!!

  • I like changing the pitch on this

    its so funny haha

  • whats that song called

  • Song: Hand Of Blood

    Artist: Bullet For My Valentine

  • thanks. In middle school band class, my band teacher had everyone use this program. It worked well for the trumpet as well as all the other various band instruments (and apparently guitar).

  • dude thank you.

  • Can u use this for drums?

  • Why would you want to? :/

  • Hey! Thanks for help! This helped me alot, i mean very much! Thanks now i can play guitar with slowdown tempo! THX!! i Subscribe you, Favorite and 5 star!

  • Comment removed

  • ok so...u have to download songs from your mp3 or ipod to the audacity?

of can u just get the songs from itunes or limewire?

  • Excellent program! This is the kind of help I've always needed. Thanks for the upload!

  • I have some questions for you :

1.) How do you open up that thing with the left and right adjusters..it is not the preset one.

2.) How come when I record one thing, and then record something over that, I can not keep it going too long because soon it will start getting fuzzy? Is there a setting I can use to fix this problem?

    Thanks!

  • i got a question... How do you record yourself playing? i know how to record sound with audacity but i dont know how to use a camera with it...

or do you record the song and then just record your self playing then put that over the actual music or is it live?

  • This is described in detail on my website (see link in video info).

  • which version do u have killrbuckeye? the 1.39 ?

  • Personally I use Guitar Pro or PowerTab where I can change the pitch and tempos. Is Audacity only available for Windows? If not, what is the best alternative on the Mac?

  • You're missing the point of this video though. How do you think those Guitar Pro or Power Tab files are created in the first place? Someone has to transcribe the songs by ear. Most of the tab files you find on the internet are very inaccurate, so you can't always rely on them for learning songs. Audacity is open source and is available for Mac.

  • hey dude! i am one of those who are very amazed with your talent and mad skills! i hope you play dream theater too. pls.sort of request

  • something I've always wondered. Suppose I know which notes to play. How do I know on which strings I should play them?

  • This is something that comes with experience. You have to consider all the notes/chords that are played in a particular riff. Usually there are only a couple different fingering patterns or locations on the fretboard that actually make it playable at full speed. Sometimes there's more than one location that will work, so just choose the one that's easiest for you.

  • my effects wont let me click on em!

  • u have to highlight the area u want effected b4 u click

    hope i helped

  • Cool, I knew about the change tempo effect, but didn't know about the pan. That helps a lot! Thanks!
