I voted for Obama but I am not happy with what is happening. I am disappointed. This latest plan will be disasterous. The money they are going to us for this trilion+ bailout is simply being printed out of thin air, which is going to devalue the dollar and cause hyperinflation. Very few people understand this, but ALL MONEY IS ALWAYS PRINTED OUT OF THIN AIR. From 2003-2006 an extraordinary amount of money was printed by banks, SIVs, etc. That's why we had an inflation problem as late as middle of last year. I am not saying that the government (the Fed) knows with absolute certainty how to print money responsibly, although that is their mandate. They are fallible as all of us. I also can see how there is political pressure to print too much money. My point is that high inflation is not a forgone conclusion just because the Fed is printing money. For the economy to grow, the money supply needs to grow too, even when there is no inflation, whether it is central bank or other banks doing the printing.

First of all. The Government does not print the money. A private bank called the Federal Reserve prints and controls our money. Our government gave the Federal Reserve the power in 1913. Prior to that, only Congress could print money.America can still print it's own money, but those that pushed that idea did not last long ie Kennedy and Lincoln.
