  • They are Serb`s!

  • Frankie actually was a regular on a Cleveland polka TV show back in the 60s called Polka Variety. It was a bid deal on Sunday Afternoon.

  • @weirdalfan1980 thank so much, that clip made my day. What a historic moment in music and comedy.

  • Holy shit! good music got nominated back then.

  • 'Al-oholics Anonymous'. That's brilliant.

  • Awesome

  • Weird Al Yankovic isn't serbian, he's Yugoslavian.

  • @theaccordionguy Yugoslavia was country of 7 ethnic groups: Slovenes, Croats, Bosnians, Serbs and Macedonians. Frank Yankovic is of slovene origin while Wierd Al Yankovic is of serb origin but both ethnic groups are related.

  • Well done! It's a shame that in Israel the accordeon is not well appreciated. People in Israel laugh at me because I'm learning to play the accordeon...

  • I forgot what nationality Al is but not as halarious as some1 on a show about weird al says Al is Jewish, ROFTL

  • thats right frankie is slovenian like me ;) is wierd al slovenian too?

  • thats my pap frank! hes my grandpa! i got to play his accordian

  • @hartsmodic Were you blessed wth the Yankovic name? (Seems like that name carries a great accordion talent with it!)

  • Frankie Yankovic is SLOVENIAn decend!!

Weird Al is SERBIAn decend!! this is HUGE difference!!!

    SLOVENIA!

  • I grew up with polka at a few bowling alleys where i grew up in boston..Great stuff so happy and joyfull..

  • ckco polka time n the 80s i remember and well as usual oktoberfest too

as close to polka invasion, but it has staying power we still have weird al and polka songs at weddings too. :)

  • are frankie and al related?

  • no they are not related, frankie is slovenian decend, weird al is serbian decend

  • What if Weird Al and Frankie the polka king could have done the Minster, Ohi Oktoberfest?

That would have been one kick-butt show!

My mom was a big fan of 'ol Frankie.

  • ahhh western ohio polka fests - Hamler's was best but I was partial to Jenera's! and the Yankovic "cousins" playing either would've kicked butt!

  • The song playing in the beginning is "Relax".

  • Did someone not know that?

  • i think that frankie and al are related cause i read on wikipedia that al played accordion cause of his uncle or something like that playing the accordion so its a very very very flukey fluke if they werent

  • odds are small cuz al yankovic is of serbian decend while frank yankovic is of slovenian

  • RASscape, he learned the accordion because his parents were fan of Frankie Yankovic(alot of people were fans of him as well as Lawrence Welk at the time) and thats why he learned it. And then as urssulas said, they come from different parts of europe.

  • My dad traveled with Al's dad back in the 50's.

  • just looked up; A door-to-door salesman traveling through Lynwood offered the Yankovic parents a choice of accordion or guitar lessons at a local music school. Yankovic claims the reason his parents chose accordion over guitar was "They figured there should be at least one more accordion-playing Yankovic in the world", referring to Frankie

    so no relation =(

  • FRANKIE YANKOVIC IS AWESOME! :)

  • God this brings back memories. I had this on tape at one time. Unfortunatly (stupid me) I erased it. Does anyone have the full show?

  • aw!

  • Cute! I wonder if that was ever a dream of Al's, to play with Frank Yankovic? Thanks for shareing this video!
