  • This video is so amazing. Dominican Republic says CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!. South Africa and all the World.

  • URUGUAY CAMPEON DEL MUNDO!!!!!!

SOUTH AFRICA PREPARE TO LOSE BY RECORD VICTORY VS. URUGUAY

  • Beautiful video. It will be a great World Cup. Beautiful cities, great stadiums and I'm happy the African continent get to host the FIFA 2010.

  • 44 days to go!!!!

  • World Cup Countdown: Just 65 days to kick-off in South Africa!

  • @earthTV2 you're so stupid. it's less than 65 days . hahahahahahaaaaaaa

  • @KhyberBoy09 if you'd looked when he/she posted the comment, you'd see that it may have been 65 days...so easy on the 'stupid', yeah?

  • Stay at home and watch the World Cup on TV.

According to the Medical Research Council in June 2009, 25% of South African males have raped at least once. 33% of females have been raped. S. Africa has the highest incidences of child and baby rape. Many S. Africans believe that they can get rid of the AIDS virus by raping virgins.

    S. Africa has the 2nd highest murder rates in the world, and they have highest rates of rape. Murder, rape, robberies, and carjackings happen frequently to tourists.

  • @TranCendenZ Stfu.

  • @TranCendenZ then plz dont come to sa..we are going..thanx

  • @TranCendenZ Good for you. WC been going for 4 days now and not a single mentionable incedent. :)

  • @TranCendenZ You must be just be a hater of South Africans. Sorry this is one of the best world cup games I've ever been to! Very few really bad incidents happened. This is one of the most beautiful country in the country on the planet. Sorry mr racist, you lose!!

  • @amasonga Why did you call me a racist? I just stated FACTS. I did not state an opinion on anything. Why are you saying that I lose? Your comments don't even make any sense. You're an idiot.

Because people like me warned the tourists about the dangers, the tourists avoided traveling alone, avoided the non-tourist areas where there isn't security, and avoided dark areas.

  • Jittery foreign visitors, who include diplomats, celebrities and wealthy businessmen are scrambling to secure personal bodyguards for the World Cup spectacle, the Sunday Times reported on Saturday.

20 000 murders a year, they are wise to do so.

  • @DaSlug32 I don't even need to find any more information to disqualify that statement because it disqualifies itself. the Sunday Times on Saturday?????

  • Europeans will be there a champions!!!!!!

  • great videos of the cities!!!

  • The song is called "The Crossing" by Johnny Clegg

  • hey who knows what song the opening song is and by who?

  • Most governments in the world are corrupt and have blood on their hands, just about all the leaders in Africa are war lords so there isn't much choice.

  • I dont know of any countries that have elected a President after all his 'bad actions' have reached the public

  • U S voted for George W Bush even after they went into Iraq for the oil, were at least 20 leaders as bad or worse than Sadam but no oil. e.g. North Korean president, President Mcgarbie, Fiji been overthrown by the military, Russia slaughted Georgia, China killed female babies not so long ago, Japan bound girls feet so they stayed tiny etc but America did nothing. U S supported the Taliban & sold them weapons to fight Russia when they had control of Afganistan & sold weapons to both Iraq & Iran.

  • why are u guys talking about the US and war this video has nothing to do with it!

  • this video has nothing to do with the American or wherever war, it's the first WC in the African continent...

  • It's not American peoples fault as they were brain washed & media was largely one sided. You think sep 11 was caused by some guy in a cave ? As if a plane could dive into the pentagon without radar warning ! Or 4 planes going in the same direction towards world trade centre without being noticed, as if that many planes are all going to have Arab born American pilots flying at the same time in the same city.

  • Why is Binladins son alive & well in england and they know exactly where he is without capturing him ? as if the trade centre built for natural disasters would crumble like that from planes. Also if they really thought Binladin was hiding in a cave they would have sent troops and planes there.

  • I know of one...USA.

They elected George Bush for the second running in office after he attacked Afghanistan and Iraq for the allerged 'Weapons of Mass Distruction' that were never found.

By the way...what does Zuma have to do with he world cup. You cleary sound like those so called South Africans who think their own country doesnt deserve to host the world cup. Sies!!

  • hasnt a right, i meant

  • S.A. has a right to host the World Cup. No country in the world has a 100% 'safe house'. You or anyone else has a right to deny them. Everything is a world stage. You either get on the stage and act.....watch the show.....or you retreat to your own space and do neither. Every country in the world deserves the same.

  • 10/10 for you....I cudnt have put it any better myself!

  • There's so much to see in South Africa!

  • You left the Table Mountain cable car out of the Cape Town footage

  • i know...a serious omission :-)

  • Comment removed

  • Cape town is the most beautiful city that i have ever been...somerset west is one of the most beautiful area in Cape Town...

  • i cant wait!! south africa 2010 here we go....

    HONDURAS!!

  • People must realise that 90% of the crime that happens in South Africa is located in townships. Visitors won't be anywhere near townships (or any crime hotspots) unless they want to take a guided tour (which is very safe). Our crime is indeed bad, but don't let the crime stats fool you. World cup visitors will be safe, just as long as they don't go wondering into dangerous areas.

  • Why dont u mention the mall robberies that have been happening lately where people have been murdered (which are not in the poor areas)?

And if the non-poor areas are so safe, answer this for me, why do people have high walls around there houses, with burglar bars and electric fences? (and even these safety precautions dont work)

  • what if the world spoke only one language it would be amazing !!!!!!!!

  • I'm still going

I hope I don't bump into assholes like you

  • Just because a country has socio economic problems that causes an exodus, that doesn't mean that they shouldn't have the right to host the world's biggest party. Same goes for Brazil, and by the same logic, Argentina shouldn't host it either.

  • this makes me want to hop on a plane back to SA...

  • Brazil: Our sixth star is there!

  • superb!!!!

what are we without our dreams...

  • EXCELLENT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Usa for 2018 world cup host.

  • you dont even call it football, so what are you geting at

  • Neither does South Africa, South Africa calls it soccer

  • If our crime is so bad, then why are whe still one of the best tourist destinations in the world !? You people are just looking for reasons to talk bad about SA, do us a favour and stay away from our country ! you do not deserve to experience our counrty !

  • Don't try to sugar coat the reality, we're not stupid.

I live in Australia. We get HEAPS of South African immigrants who ALL say they've immigrated here to escape the crime in South Africa.

  • As an SA/UK dual national in England there are HEAPS of Ozzies here to escape the boredom (and Asians) in Oz :o) ! This is SA's Big Fresh Start..nobody said it wld be easy...gonna be the best World Cup ever...Viva South Afrika Viva ... One World,One Chance,Fair Play.Peace.Yer Aboes no longer fight back they're sadly all too drunk or high on petrol with depression.Good job mate....and no you can't have the World Cup,you don't deserve it :o) !!!

  • Well i'm glad, then you can live with those pathetic people, they fit in perfect there, the people that stay here are the good south africans !

  • they don't fit in here

    they're fucking idiots

they fit in perfectly where they come from - a country stuck up shit creek

  • que ANSIEDAD Q TENGO :D

  • no me gusto la confederaciones ni la copa oro ahora sigue el mundial, ojala este chebre :D

  • its weird cuz before afrika had no soccer players or teams and now look at them hosting the world cup in SA

  • u r an idiot

  • you should be ashamed of having our country in your name.

SA has already played a World Cup and they've been African champions before. Ever hear of Mark Fish, he was playing in Europe years ago. Please do research before you embarass us by posting with our country's name.

  • should be a good world cup, hope the refs are not too much against england as they are normaly are- and before anyone mentions geof hursts goal, the equaliser that took the game into extra time was offside

  • They really know how to show the best parts of that country, it's a big oportunity not only for SA, it's the chance for the whole African continent, to show the world they're capable to organize such a big tournament.... if the small organizational problems of the Confederations Cup are solved, we'll enjoy an amazing World Cup;)

  • I had a teacher that told me he lived in SA. I asked him about the crime rate and he said,"there's crimes everywhere, not just SA." and he said,"no it won't affect the World Cup." I believe he's right and SA is a beautiful place to play football. I cannot wait till next year...

  • Here is a fun fact released by the EU just a few days ago!!

Statistics compiled by the European Commission indicate that Britain(2007 study) had 2 034 violent crimes for 100 000 people, compared to South Africa's 1 609 for 100 000!! Britain is in fact, the MOST violent country in the world!!

  • Official statistics are manipulated to allow the world cup to continue.

My experience from close friends and relatives (around 100 people) is 3 murders, 1 rape, 7 violent house invasions, 2 car-jackings. That is 13 violent crimes out of a 100 people or expressed per 100,000 people that is 13,000. Which is much worst than even Iraq.

Almost any SA person you talk to will know one or more people personally which have been effected by crime.

  • Ha Ha south Africa is a Democracy ( LOL) not like China. The Western media campaigned against Beijing games cuz of "human rights", Tibet..blah blah...but they Failed. Beijing games was a success. western media won't campaigned against South AFrica cuz its a democarcy,, peace nobel laureates Mandela, desmond tutu.. ha ha ha.. Lets see in 2010.

  • England is full of heaps of Ozzies escaping the boredom in Oz ,while yer Abos drink & sniff petrol to kill their anger & depresssion.Good job mate. This is SA's Big Fresh Start - nobody said it wld be easy.Viva South Afrika Viva.Gonna be the BEST World Cup Ever...and the SA diaspora will suppport every minute of it's success. One World,One Chance ...and no you guys can't have the world cup, there is no plan B - you smply don't deserve it o) !!!!!!!

  • yo stfu

  • your an idiot...

  • Yes crime is everywhere but in SA there is way more violent crime than other countries. There arent many countries where people have burglar bars, high walls around there houses, and electric fencing, those things are very common in SA. and even if you have them you are still scared!

  • I dont agree at all. You go anywhere in the world, people put some sort of security measures to protect their assets...high walls, buglar bars, electric fencing. It's just that SA caught the media's attention with its violent crimes in the past and that has unfortunately 'stuck' into peoples' minds. SA is not the safest country in the world I agree....but is also not as bad as potrayed in the media out there,.

  • Id love to hear what countries you have been to. Ive been to other countries so I know what I am talking about

  • I've been around mate....Jamaica, Bolivia, Peru, US, Malta in Europe, Sweden and Azerbaijan.

I work for an International Civil Engineering firm and have been to almost every country we've got big project on.

As I said earlier on....SA is not the safest country in the world due to its history, poverty and other social attributes, but also not as violent and full of crime as potrayed in the media.

  • What about the statistics that are far worse than what the media report? How many of the murders are reported on the news every night?

  • I hope Egypt qualifies for South Africa

  • Wow...what a beautiful country i live in...i get tears in my eyes looking at this!!!

  • ur lucky. I really envy you.

  • would australia and japan will get their ticket to south africa?

  • Brasil 2014!! Vai ser a Copa mais foda de todos os tempos!

  • I hope Ireland will qualify for south africa 2010:)

  • they will if stephen ireland is on form.

i love that player - no homo

  • I hope the same with my country argentina.

  • esperemos que si che... aunque Brasil será en 2014... hay que sobornar al MAFIOSO de Blatter para que se haga en Argentina jajajaaj

y si le entregamos algunas modelos?? jejejjee

  • Mate,I have lived in the UK for eight years now and after watching your video I have just been reminded of how great our country is.I just want to say thanks, great video great energy and a great World Cup for sure!

    FOREVER SOUTH AFRICAN!

  • SA was a fantastic place. It has a good side, but a very nasty side. The last 3 years things have got out of hand.

  • suerte!

  • interesting commercial it makes south africa look like a strictly white nation, this is supposed to bring south africa to the world stage

  • it just makes it look decent and safe not dagerous and dirty

  • yeah, whats with all the white people???? this clip is too inviting and foreign friendly.... please, at least show one dead person, or at the very least, someone with a very big scar on his face. preferably an elderly lady. she can be black, or white, hell, who cares ????? JUST GIVE THEM SCARS!!!!!!!! Scars for everyone!!

  • I love ur video LASEGO...this video makes me think about what will happen at SA...maybe a not so strong team will prevail and get themselves to the top...I mean I love all the tough teams like Spain Italy Brazil and so fourth...but I believe somthin extraordinary will happen...and no other place would be better in my mind than a beautiful place like South Africa...

  • if its so bad, why did over a million of us apply for tickets?

    I got mine and I can't wait!

  • Adidas

  • wow que hermosos lugares!! muero porq ya empieze la copa del mundo ahi en esos bellos lugares ! GRACIAS DIOS POR EL FUTBOL!!!

  • hahahahaha. Egypt safer than Mzansi? Egypt would be a BLAST.

  • Only certain parts are dangerous for tourists and there'll be lots of police & security around. Not sure Egypt would be a great choice. Yes the fans & stadiums are great but what about terrorism (Luxor massacre)?

  • Cape town = best city in SA by far

  • Great music !

  • I wonder if you feel happy now that you've given your two cents. If you think you're going to get raped, robbed and murdered, then don't come. If you're ready for the biggest celebration of football and shared humanity ever on the African continent, then be our guests. Everything will be ready on time, it's for you to decide if you want to be a part of it.

  • @AGoonerMatata Well said.

  • I wonder how many people will be raped, robbed and/or murdered when the world cup takes place? If they get everything ready on time, I have my doubts...

  • Comment removed

  • I-DIOTS like you should be caged...BIG TIME

  • dont worry. south africa is the country with 4peace nobel laureates and has the support of Dalai lama. south africa is the showcase of human rights and democracy. dont worry come. ppl are friendly here. there are no communists and dictators here

  • i cut my 2 hands for kiss this girl at 0.15 !!!

  • this country looks really great and so beautiful

  • Ojala Superen el Mundial del 2006 en Alemania..

  • Great now I have to get a million bagillion shots, that's gonna cost a fortune.

  • i just applied for my tickets on the fifa website!

  • I hope this will be great. from north africa Algeria. viva SA for ever!!!!!

  • This video made me tear. I relocated to America in 1997 and when I watch this video it reminds me how beautiful ZA is. But the only thing thats stopping me from returning is all the corruption, crime and violence.

  • But is it a nice place for vacations.

  • Definitely, best place in Africa! Its the perfect mix of western culture with African culture

  • babess you post menoupausal wanker. SA is gonna be great!!! great people, great venue , awesomeness!

come on people dont listen to all the negative talk. SA will make it work just like the 1995 RWC.

    trots suid afrikaans!!!!!

maybe she has sour grapes because she left Mzanzi to go and live in some other shithole without Lions Zebras open plains biltong castle Springbok rugby vuvuzelas eliphants the Kruger park 2000km beaches forests desert mountains springbokkies giraffe just to name a few!

  • Listen darling! does your mommy know you eat with that mouth? by the way it is butt with an extra "t". and seeing as I am old why don't you try make me? South Africa sucks, you suck and all your little kaffir buddies suck

  • Feel free to make contact should you want to know more TRUTH about our beautiful country in connection with the 2010 Fifa World Cup, its going to be great :)

  • There is a difference between being negative and being realistic.

I do hope that 2010 will succeed, but be honest, do you feel safe walking around at night, do you even feel safe in your own home at night? Most people in SA dont thats why they have high walls around their houses, and lately thats not enough so many people now have to have electric fences as well.

How can we expect tourists to feel safe when we dont even feel safe?

  • i think you should ask amnesty international and human rights watch of 'free tibet" to campaign in favour of south africa mundial. Atter their vain effort in campaignining against Beijing Olympics, they have now time to this time SUPPORT southa africa a democratic country and adopting western human rights. Also ...nelson mandela the peace nobel laureate....... LOL

  • HAHAHAHA! there are shootouts between the police and armed thugs in SA nowadays in broad daylight. There has been nothing done about the crime at all. So all you ignorant soccer fans go there........it might be the last thing you ever do.

  • AHH SHAME! guess what you not here in SA now, so you cant speak. As a South Africa who did not runaway, im glad and totally excited for the upcoming times. I cant wait for when the world see's SA shinning and you and others who try and spread your negativity about our beautiful country is proven wrong! 2010 SOUTH AFRICA IS GOING TO BE GREAT!

  • AAAAAAHHH shame! I'm more south African than you you little twot. Cant wait to be proven wrong- never gonna happen. Keep dreaming

  • haha we will see you old twot. and dont bitch at me just cause you old. you left our country, so but out!

  • great video. i think this will be a great world cup. I hope an African nation wins it

  • I wouldn't go to africa , they should've done it somewhere in europe where it's safe and more comfortable atmosphere for everyone , I dont have any problem with SA so no flame please, but I wanted to go to world cup very much , when I found out it will be Africa , I'm not so happy.

  • Stop being sop negative! come visit for 2010 you wont regret it! I assure you, as a south African you will have a great time. We always have people coming to visit from places like USA, Canada, UK and they always speak about the great times they had, and many are coming for 2010.

  • that's england not africa

  • I'm polling for every african country except Egypt. If there will be a march between the Egyptians and the English or the French, I'll poll for the Europeans. FUCK EGYPT

  • Save money for University or go to South Africa for the World Cup???...

Save money for University or go to South Africa for the World Cup???...

    (Come on England!)

  • all the african teams will do well as they will be able to handle the heat. the England team complained of the heat in portugal and that was 35c. can someone tell me how hot it gets in south africa

  • Ha Ha Ha you moron, SA is in the Southern Hemisphere. Their winter is June/July.

  • depends northern part of SA it can go to 35 and recently it has been around 28-33...

  • Of course it's hot now you incredible idiot it's their summertime. I've been in July and it was ok but not that hot. A bit like a typical English summer i.e. around 65-70 degrees. Trust me the heat will not be problem.

  • For any and all negative fuckin dickheads...hold your drivel for yourself and stay AWAY from SA...nobody needs your types, we will feed you to our lions... We want REAL human beings to visit our gorgeous land...and welcome to you...VIVA AFRICA to WIN !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • im going to 2010 world cup cant miss it

my 8th time going to SA

    ! thing spur rules

  • south africa is our home so instead of the negativity lets hope for the best and come together and celebrate this great event

  • =) no place like home .

    I can`t wait to go back .

  • SOUTH AFRICA!!!

    *.*

  • i'll be there either as a footballer oras a fan

  • cool cool see u soon

  • omg the world cup is near cuz next summer south africa would let the world they are prepared and the final draw will take place also next year of december YEY

  • This is a huge undertaking the South Africans are embarking on right now. Just with the stadia themselves, they would represent a giant leap in terms of investment in and completion of major projects in a developing country. Add in the infrastructure works and you'll have an idea of what they intend to do.

The country may look radically different four years from now.

  • JOBERG BABY! BAFANA BAFANA!

  • I think all those chicks in bikinis should be enough incentive for tourists :D

  • Do me proud SA!

  • hell no! VIVA SOUTH AFRICA VIVA!!!

    2010 is going to great

  • I agreed with you, I dont think the ambient would be the same than where the football (and not soccer like they call football there) is passion in other countries

  • wont be the same, you dont know anything about SA and our SOCCER history. so before you wana come talk about how we not passionate and the ambient not being right, get your facts straight.

  • Thats what you think! that's such an uneducated and narrow minded ting to say, you don't even give reason for what are saying. well whether you think its a mistake or not its too late.

  • sorry nothing against SAF but to be quite realistic SAF is too far from europe asia or america plus highest crime rate in the world , highest HIV country in the world , aqnd rape against women are very high as you know no one would feel safe 2go to SAF plus in summer time it would be rainy and cold and the country can't deliver stadiums on time one had to be cancelled plus the infrastructure all these reasons ain't good enough i think north african country would be better choice like EGY OR MOR.

  • "i think north african country would be better choice like EGY OR MOR..."

your talking crap get your facts straight where are you from?

  • People traveled to JAPAN and KOREA to see the 2002 world cup. You are fucking far off with the crime and HIV, as well as infrastructure. South Africa's overall infrastructure is way more advanced than that of many latin american countries that have already hosted the tournament (Mexico, Chile, Brazil). You are only a reflection of the world's stupid and unfounded negativity towards Africa, and I expect you to eat your words by June 11, 2010. Good day.

  • What do you know about Brazil, asshole? Shut the fuck up. You should wash your mouth before saying the word Brazil. SA 2010 was clearly a mistake. Recently a man who pointed out evidences of corruption was murdered. God bless those who dare going there watch this World Cup.

  • Yeah and El Salvador, which btw has the highest crime rate in the world is much better?

  • Who said I live in El Salvador dumb ass? I'm from Salvador, a city in Brazil. You must have missed some Geography classes.

  • you are a mistake

  • you are an irreperable error.

  • Whhop!!! Lets hear it for DURBAN!!! It is the best host city according to me. :D 2010 is going to be awsume here in S.A!

  • YES SOUTH AFRICA YOU CAN DO IT

  • be quiet boruss scotland is awseome!

  • Scotland sucks!

  • YERS! Go Durban!

  • Beautiful video, beautiful song.

  • Do you know the tittle of the song?

  • "The crossing" by Johnny Clegg

  • dutch ciry names

  • Brought a tear to my eye
