People you talking shit, this cars are stock. Why??? Lotus Omega does 0-160km/h in 11,5s so in 13.6s omega should top 176 km/h in that time. The Merc has 5.5l 354hp and could do 5.4 sec to 100km/h

Omega - 377hp, 568Nm, 5,3s to 100km/h, 11,5s to 160km/h, 1690kg

E55 - 354hp, 530Nm, 5,4s to 100km/h, 11,8s to 160km/h, 1710kg

So the accelration test are pretty even as shown on this video.

I own a E63 AMG and have driven E55 AMG a number of times.  The car that is shown in this video as E55 AMG is "NOT" an AMG.

Yes this is a Lotus! Based on the Opel Omega A (Vauxhall Carlton) with a 3.6 liter engine with 377hp! And ist runs up to 300 km/h!!!!

@Sanyey Its anything but "evreyday" first off its not a 3.0l its 3.6 twin turbo, second it had new brakes and dampers fitted. It was even given a lotus type designation. It was sold as a Lotus carlton/omega, registered as a Lotus carlton/omega, and Lotus carlton/omega is the model name.

I love it, when someone tells others not to post bullshit, than himself does the same :DD pal: the lotus omega has a nearly stock opel omega chassis, with a 3liter 6cyl 24valve OPEL engine..everything they did with it, is that they bored it up to 3,6 litres, they gave it 2 turbos and thats it.. this is the same case with the c20xe engine.. its not a cosworth engine, only the cylinderhead was designed by Cosworth!

@Sanyey i remember when merc needed a car to compete with the bmw m3 so they got cosworth to build a full car for merc ,(e190 cosworth16v?) i could be wrong on the name tho,BUT this car went on to be the slowest car in its class,even the saphire cosworth and 2.8i capri left it standing at half the price,like the man said before mercs are for comfort and safety ,this lotus carlton was a car and a half and im unsuprised it kept up with that merc,with a better driver the lotus wins this race.

Jesus Christ, I am surprised nobody has seen the mistake here yet. That "E55 AMG" isn't even an AMG at all. It's a regular E class for crying out loud. Maybe an E320 or whatever else they have over in Europe. There are no twin exhausts at the back and it doesn't have the genuine circular lights in the lower bumper upfront.

To the moron who uploads these videos. Stop labeling the E class here as an "E55 AMG" because it isn't one.

Both cars are tuned, that is obvious. But the E class is not an E55 AMG. And getting your hands on a 5.5-l supercharged AMG V8 isn't as easy as you make it sound.

A tuned E320 can perform fairly competitive in such drag races. Tune the hell out of the engine, remove excess weight from the car (luxury features, rear seats, front passenger seat, spare tire, 1/3 filled-up fuel tank etc. This car is not an E55 AMG and I seriously doubt it has an E55 motor. Most likely it's a tuned E320 or even an E420/E430, but it's not an E55 AMG.

That Benz is NOT an E55 AMG. It's not even an E50 AMG. It's some standard E class, maybe an E280. It's not even an E420. And the tuning that went into the Benz wasn't anything special if it was even tuned. The W210 doesn't have a reputation as a tuning car. Nobody bought an E class to tune it up. Those cars are bought for comfort, safety and status: not performance.

The Lotus Omega is 3,666 lb (1663 kg) and the amg is 3990 lb (1810 kg) so thats 324 lb's lighter than the AMG.
