  • FUck it, I'm happy about all that commercial shit, the bigger the difference between dub and mainstream become, the sooner they parties will get seperated more and more. Lets lose those fucks

  • i dont listen to hardly anything from 2009-present. all about OG dub :)

  • Comment removed

  • its a shame, because dubstep has turned into a formula :/

  • @j0rdyb0y62 FOR REAL ALOT OF PEOPLE GOT THAT SKRILLEX SOUND, ITS ALL ABOUT DUB

  • 'Midnight Request Line' remains such an epic fucking tune! #disgusting!

  • it annoys me how people are hyping about Dubstep like its something new and they've invented it.. If you are a true Dubhead you done know its been banging since 2006..Im happy his docu shows that though..

  • @fanboyvalorofficial if Justin Bieber is putting Dubstep on his album, how is it not mainstream?

  • FluX Pavilion!!!

  • 2006 damn O_O

  • Joe Nice predicted the future perfectly at the end....

  • the best part and worst part is that dubstep is the most unorganized genre ther is... which is why it hasnt gone mainstream and played on the radio in lots of places... so its going to stay underground til it gets unorganized which it wont be anytime soon

  • @fanboyvalorofficial Are you joking? Brostep has taken Dubstep and taken it to the masses. For example I heard Skrillex and Magnetic Man and Katy B played all within an hour of each other on Radio 1. It is very much mainstream as you hear a Dubstep influence in any electronic pop song.

  • @36hunters i have yet to hear dubstep on any of my radio stations dude sorry but its not as big as it seems, like i said in lots of places its no nth radio i didnt say its not played at all just not in most areas

  • tune at 6:00?

  • wich year is this?

  • @brulione 2006

  • Joe Nice saying true words right at the end; big up

  • kode9~nine samurai~bad riddim~

  • Todays DUBstep is awesome =)

Feed Me - Cloudburn, My mom said I am a freak - Freak Me (Capella remix), Modestep - Sunlight. The list is long, and even thou Skrillex counts in as DUB I would rather call it something else, he has his own sound and do some really good music =)))

  • Why the fuck is skrillex in the related videos?!

  • todays dubstep does nothing for anyone. you know? I respect rap, pop and even Disney tunes and all that other mainstream music but those forms of music has meaning. The most extreme in mainstream is dubstep and see what that does or you can say does NOT do to people is meaningless.

  • See, I enjoy Dubstep, or at least what I perceive it to be. I am now, more than ever, concerned that I have not enjoyed true Dubstep, just going with the mainstream stuff. What has it grown into? What is out there now, calling itself Dubstep? It scares me a little bit. . .

  • @nitroworld1 You, sir, are either an amazing troll or a complete and utter moron. I'm assuming the second option.

  • 'the best thing about dubstep, is that there is no formula' what?

  • @chilly2829 the formula like how the beats shud go together and when the break comes in blah blah blah (i think) anyways haha dubstep can sound very diffrent thats why u get so many debates on youtube about what is "dubstep" and whats not lool

  • @nitroworld1 lol

  • @nitroworld1 By ruining it completely.

  • sub-genres"

i cant fucking delete my comment...

  • Wtf is this? Why the hate between Dubstep sup-genres? I love 'em all

  • The 240p marches once again.....

  • @WiseGuy257 240p is the only quality they had 5 years ago

  • The black guy at the end called it!

"people are gonna go crazy for it"

  • Who remember's when Grime and Dub-step where the same-thing. now there so different

  • Check Thedeeprot out..

  • kode9 'dubstep relies on the subbass frequencies, not too much the midrange frequencies'...amen.

  • miss this :'(

  • why dont we all make lots of channels promoting the old dubstep back

  • "One of the best things, about dubstep, is that there is no formula." Don't suppose he's heard the build drop insert shit female vocals repeat of today...

  • haha! Skream looks so young here!

  • In a society that thrives on the stifling of the mind, body, and soul, dubstep is a relief, an outlet for expression, as i regain my sense of self and feeling. Is it an injustice to base all of my knowledge and reasoning on the sensual reaction to dubstep? I feel as if I'm returning to a primal state of being from an unfamiliar world. Dubstep isn't a need but a function to finding myself again.

I'm curious, what is dubstep to you?

  • @jamaicanmehappy7 same here I really find it a way to release stress, it's gets me to be my own self. It is also a way to connect to people from different areas, this is the type of music that isn't set to one particular group or race, you can say hipsters listen to this but it's more like a fad for them so they don't count.

  • @jamaicanmehappy7 that sounded kinda pretentious and stupid. its funny how you wrote an entire paragraph without actually saying anything at all.

  • @MistaMase102, i wasn't looking for any approval or negativity, i'm simply trying to understand other people's "physical listening experience."

  • @jamaicanmehappy7 you idiot, what they meant by the "physical listening experience" in the video is the sub bass. cus old skool dubstep tunes were really low frequencies that when you were in a rave, you could feel rather than hear. it wasnt anything to do with any arty farty spiritual crap.

  • @MistaMase102 hahaha....well this is both a world for arty farty spiritual crap...and point blank analysis.

  • @jamaicanmehappy7 riiiight, well youve got it all wrong, the physical listening experience theyre talking about in the vid is talking about literally that, the physical experience, you just went into some weird spiritual, in-depth emotional rubbish, you seemed to have got it all completely wrong and made yourself look like an idiot.

  • @jamaicanmehappy7 It's total shite that's what it is.

  • @MrGraffitiAmsterdam U made me LoL

  • Dear Drum and Bass heads,

    Garage started dubstep

  • It surprises me wherever I go on youtube to listen to dubstep there's always a mountain of comments about how america is ruining dubstep, or how american's shouldn't be listening to dubstep. Dear people, stop being such hipsters. If you don't like america, that's your choice, but you might try to connect with people that like the same things as you, no matter where they live, rather than make yourself look like an asshole.

  • UK: Dubstep, Holland: Hardstyle/Hardcore....America are you even trying?

  • @Rodhizzzle America: Skrillex. herp. derp.

  • @GodIsntReal777 Eehmm right...But it's not a kind of music :3

  • So they're the people responsible for destroying a generation with this fucking awful genre

  • @stefan1986 your opinion, and don't be so dramatic with 'destroying a generation'. Its just music man

  • this was posted over 5 years ago.... dubstep has come a long way since then. for the better

... not really into the tracks they're playing on this clip..

  • Norway salutes you!

  • This is awesome if you like free downloadable dubstep subscribe to my page!

  • It's a simple sound. That's why Teens like it... that's why they have ALWAYS liked these kinds of things for the last 30 years...

  • Comment removed

  • @arkangelio LOL Simple sound? Are you kidding me, dubstep is so complex when you actually listen to it properly and on a decent sound system. Try listening to Skream, Skrillex, Nero, Flux Pavilion, Mt Eden, Rusko and all the others I've missed out and try telling me it is a 'simple sound'.

Listening to Dubstep live is such an amazing experience it really is hard to describe, I wish I could do it more. A shame all the masters seem to like to tour in USA instead of where Dubstep originated from!

  • @TheLoneMercenary mate.... I don't even know if I should do this... at very best it's ''un-organized'' music which can be only seen as ''organized'' by teenagers, simply because their sense of ''organization'' has not developed yet. It's the same with Teen/very early 20's ''ears'' as well, again, not sonically developed enough yet. The elements that make up this music are few. One day you'll understand, but not now, so just enjoy it. Peace.

  • @arkangelio Lol you clearly don't understand this music genre... Your right about the organisation thing for teenagers, but that has nothing to do with appreciation for this genre. Dubstep is not unorganised, maybe for you it is cause there's no genre like dubstep out there, but there is very complex and well made dubstep out there. Offcourse there is some trash-dubstep songs, that only contain rough sounds, but you should investigate this genre a little more to understand dubstep.

  • @Jimirulez27 Hmmm? OK then, if you insist, I'll try to find out more about this 'complex' side to dubstep. BTW @ 3:58 the guy in the record shop said that ''this tune was the biggest...'' it sounded very, very simple... what are we talking here? Drums, Sub, Pad & FX by the way it sounded: The drums were simple, the sub was simple, the pad was 1 note and the FX melody was a simple arpeggio. It sounds so typical of todays easy to access (and use) music gear that teenagers have their hands on.

  • @arkangelio I agree that the dubste song @3:58 is very simple. But this video is from 2006, dubstep is much complexer now. Listen to 'KOAN sound' for example. I think they're the best dubstep producers right now cause of their unique style and excellent mastered tracks. Not everybody understands their music, but if you do it's just amazing.

  • And this too nice dirty dubstep mix!)) :

    /watch?v=wx684XRDTy0

  • Also nice mix!)) :

    /watch?v=kHoxMRCpnVw

  • watched this same video 5 years ago... its so sad whats happened to this sound

  • jesus was a mistake, dubstep was god's first planned child

when chuck norris is railing out random video hoes, the sound of dubstep is produced

and after charlie sheen finishes banging up 7 gram crack rocks, he dosent go into seizures, his body erupts into dubstep bass wobble

YOU HEARD IT FIRST, RIGHT HERE, WITH YOURS TRUELY

  • Dubstep is life changing!!!

  • Yeah goat stare straight away :D I love loefah <3

  • just started the video.. if Skream or Benga's name isn't mentioned in this documentary, it's not legit :)

  • @xPreTzeL ah but they are

  • i know that most of you hate it when new "unique" dubstep artists post links to their tracks under popular videos like this but did you even think about the reason for that? it's the modern music industry. nowadays, you dont get anywhere without good marketing and without a label there arent many ways to get your songs known. so please dont hate and if you want to, i'd be more than happy if you check out my latest single :) -> watch?v=f3ELXW75rcY

  • @FallofIcarusOfficial that tune is shit

  • Im a drummer and im going to start a dubstep band to play this live cos this kicks the ass out if it

  • unfortunately, it certainly does have a formula now *wait for the drop* *transformer sounds*

  • What does dub mean?

  • @GodsNotReal95 Dub is a genre similar to reggae

  • @D4rthVada oh. and dubstep is another step in that direction or what

  • @GodsNotReal95 Yeah dubstep takes large influence from dub and UK Garage/2Step

  • @D4rthVada i looked up 2step once and its really boring.... imo

  • THUMBS UP IF U HATE SKRILLEX

  • I think Dubstep is the only thing that actually makes me proud to be from England!

  • @KickAssMusicDaily come on England is so awesome!

  • @DubstepRuSSell Disagree mate! Its a shit hole!

  • the best days of real, pure, dubstep.... bring them back

  • @MrAugust12th gtfoutta here trend follower fuck

    Fucking hate hipsters posers

  • @MrAugust12th it's not really gone, it's just less seen, Emalkay is probably the only artist for me that is releasing decent, old feel tracks. Check out his latest track called 'massive'. It's different, but it feels simliar enough to the old feeling.

  • @MCKT2806 yea that riddems got the old dubstep feel to it

  • @MCKT2806 Skream?? Caspa?? they're still bringing out huge sounds. Caspa - Hot Shoe Shuffle, Skream - Exothermic Reaction........to name but a few

  • @alextheodossiadis94 yeah they are, but on the scale of what is coming out today, with the modern dubstep, with all transformer sounds and crap.

  • ahhhhhhh good ol bm soho

  • Just saying too that anti war dub is banging!

  • "Its amazing that more people arnt going crazy over this but its gonna happen i can feel it"

    UK

  • @JoeyyLOL Oh man, so true. Best comment *thumbs wildly*

  • @JoeyyLOL yeah......no.

  • @JoeyyLOL lmao

  • @JoeyyLOL HA HA. At least the guy referenced and thanked us!!

  • @JoeyyLOL TRUE

  • @JoeyyLOL if i recall correctly it was rusko who really started the whole "brostep" bullshit and got it moving. who is america by the way, cause i know sure as shit that producers in south texas didnt fuck up the genre. look up aaron pena or mexicans with guns then say that.

  • @JoeyyLOL Ever heard of Joe Nice? The AMERICAN DJ that has been pushing the scene in the US since 02'? America has fucked up dubstep quite a bit, but you are just being ignorant.

  • @JoeyyLOL Sorry yo <3

we did kinda invent the whole Eletronic music thing though

  • @ZooYBra it was germany...with kraftwerk

  • @ZooYBra lol. Maybe you should watch something like Kraftwerk and the Electronic Revolution before you just go and assume things. :)

  • @JoeyyLOL 2:25 nough said

  • @JoeyyLOL

    >implying dubstep was ever good

    >implying you're not a 13 year old boy

  • @JoeyyLOL Oh You're Welcome

  • @JoeyyLOL i don't think that's fair but whatever.

  • ok another 1 what is dub maybe drum n bass + dance = dub

but what is 2 step maybe 1 step + another step = 2 step ahahhahahahhahahha

  • 2 step + Dub = Dubstep thats all the genres there is ha ha

  • Hey mates ! why not giving something new a shot? check out my dubstep song "Complete Destruction"

thumbs up so more people may see this :)

  • The american guy summed it up beautifully - 'it has a physicality, you feel the bass in your chest and the inside of your ear gets fuzzy'. A lot of new stuff -coughSkrillexcough- but not all, mind, focuses too much on the synth and high pitches rather than the bass and physical feel. The only physical feel in those sort of raves are the 15 year olds starting mosh pits. I do like Koan Sound, Gemini etc but nothing will come close to a Skream, Distance or Kryptic Minds rave - there it is pure bass

  • FUCK DUBSTEP....bunch of fag stuff.....listen to idm....stop waisting your gear....idiots

  • oh, i'm sorry my SPELLING isn't up to your standard your donkey fucking lordship.... its like you said yourself, you don't know my musical tastes, nor where i'm from.... can i fucking help the fact that we see genres here a little later than the rest of the world? FUCK NO! they are legends here, so at the end of the day, listening to you spout on about your hates, my 'dependancies' and YOUR opinion, seems to be a waste of time..that shut up enough for you?..........BOY :)

  • Whats really sad is that people are hugging onto old/core Dubstep like it wasn't going to change in the first place. Slow/Halfstep music has had it's day...times up. Sure some older tracks are pretty good, and sure some tracks today are crap (NOTE : KanjiKinetic...SUCKS), but to say 90% of today's stuff sucks just because you grew up on the old stuff is just like how your parents didn't understand YOUR choice of music and labeled it junk just because they didn't understand/like it...

  • @darkwiz666 No, old school dub step is definately not finished. It's just over run with the new school shit. The new stuff is aiight, but the old "darker" stuff will always be more real because it's literally a vibe, not a trend, and with the underground scene it's dark and gritty. Kids don't understand shit like that, not until you get out of school and truly understand the diversity that exists.

  • LISTEN NEW DUBSTEP TRACK Dj Bestixxx - Aurum

  • This video got me totally depressed. I've been a huge fan of dubstep for the past two years listening almost exclusively to the early stuff with some "dungeon sound" on the side. The images of dmz made my heart sink, can't believe I missed that. Whats even worse is that the scene is non-existent where I live and with the rise in popularity of brostep I doubt I'll ever be able to experience a proper dubstep gig. :'(

  • 07:30 wow he was dead on, dubstep blew up ever since '09

  • For those of you who are new to dubstep, here are some must-hear songs that show how diverse the genre is. Enjoy and welcome to the wonderful world of orgasms and overused comments.

    1. Skrillex - Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites

    2. Rhyno - Sentience

    3. Ellie Goulding - Lights (bassnectar remix)

  • @Darko28days064212 all of these are shocking. You must be American...I'm not trying to pick a fight i just couldn't let people think these three travesties were what dubstep is about. Unfortunately this type of music is probably at the forefront of dubstep presently, rapidly eliminating what it used to be. It's a real shame...skrillex can suck me off btw. most of his music is just really shit house.

  • @Darko28days064212 come on man!!! PLEASEEE STOP EMBARRASSING AMERICANS. skrillex? really? It fuckin sucks when ive listened to dubstep before it even crossed the pond and as soon as it gets over here it gets polluted with all these kids who think dubstep is some sort of heavy metal Electronic music. did you hear anything like those songs in this video? no because its real dubstep the scene went from skanking to moshing :(

  • @Darko28days064212 Fuck all that american shit (Skrillex and Bassnectar)

  • @JamsFTW thank you :)

  • @JamsFTW bar that shit isnt bad why do you have to hate

  • @Darko28days064212 i think you are new dubstep

  • You see I love UK Garage, but I can't stand Dubstep.

  • Us Brits do know how to make some banging music!

  • got sum different sounding dubstep on my channel.. chek it out yo!

  • I made a dubstep track using samples of them talking on here. Check out my page, its called "I can feel it" its in the intro after the pan flutes.

  • @Dubstepconcept Your Gay

  • Dub + UK Garage = Dubstep

People forget that 2Step is UK Garage, as well as 4x4. I don't know where people got the idea that D&B gave birth to Dubstep.

Another thing, just to make it clear too people that loves Dubstep.

Dub isn't Dubstep, get it right!

  • RELAXING DUBSTEP called "Buried in the Sand": -> /watch?v=Py47WtoWsKA

  • pitty about what its turned into recently

  • Funny, I know Joe Nice he is a cool dude. My friend was his MC back in the day. I was just watching random DubStep videos. B-More repping in the UK.
