In my day there was only hardcore and grindcore and they were real sub genres: hardcore because the people into the "scene" were hardcore, the bands played 24/7/365 and they had a DIY ethic where they made their own gigs with their friends and toured with their own cash, Grindcore because it sounds like mutilation by an angle grinder... all these new -core suffixes are madeup by kids or magazines with no knowledge of anything or they have to make something up to keep their publications valid.
