They should have gotten Elijah Wood to be Huck, I always thought that Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Elijah Wood would get along well (that and Elijah is really the only Huck for me just like Jonathan is the only Tom for me :D). This was done two years after Huck Finn, but Brad Renfro is only a year younger than Wood so I don't think there would have been that much of a difference.

everyone go check out the Mark Twain Cave in Hannibal MO. IT's amazing. It is really cool hearing how Mark Twain came up with all the characters in his stories, they are all based on real people. He is Tom Sawyer, Becky was his child hood SWEET HEART and Injun Joe was actually a town doctor who was really kind but just was very scary looking. You guys should go it's amazing!!
