This movie, along with many others, make me never want to help anyone. I can't believe society let this happen, oh wait, yes I can. It's a horrible world out there.
I think the director did a great job serving this up for us viewers to decide whether we feel compassion or disdain for Aileen.I don't excuse murder,especially after several of the real victims were just like the last here in the movie-just trying to help.Yet if anyone had the perfect mixture of abuse/tragedy to create a killing mind =AIleen.The abuse she suffered, all by the people who were supposed to protect her.Then she finds 1 person who loves her,she'd do anything to keep her-and she did!
I actually feel sorry for Aileen. She had to retreat to such a dark and cold place in her mind that she couldn't trust any man, even the peaceful guy who seemed to want to help her out. Some people are born monsters but others are turned into monsters by the dark world we make and live in.

@bradleypark1 I think she couldn't see straight at this point. The old man was claiming he won't report her, but in reality there is no way to believe he wouldn't go to the cops. She had gone too far and couldn't trust him to be quiet. She felt she had to keep killing to get rid of all the evidence and witnesses, even it is clear from her reaction when she shoots him that she HATES that she has to kill him. I still feel for both her and the old man.

I think she panicked. I think she had gotten used to killing people, and then killing more to cover her tracks, she just didn't know when to stop. i know the sketches were in the papers. they could've gotten away if they'd changed their appearance. and left the cop car. lee's girlfriend should have been charged for accessory, instead the cops cut her a deal. and she left scott free.
#1 this is a dramatization of what happened. #2she had no choice but too. she couldn't trust a complete stranger. 3# Lee new that if the she was in the news he'd just be another witness to help the police find them.
this is a good movie but i think they should have showed aileen's childhood so people would understand why she did what she did [for ppl who don't know, her dad raped her, other people raped her, her dad raped a boy and was placed in prison, and then killed himself, her mother abandoned her, and her grandparents kicked her out aat age 15. shes REALLY messed up and i feel so bad

yeah aileen was definitely a victim of abuse but in no way shape or form does that justify her taking others lives. especially the man at the beginning. look up aileen wuornos comes clean and you'll see that she really was a sick cold hearted person who admitted to killing 7 men in cold blood.

this is a good movie but i think they should have showed aileen's childhood so people would understand why she did what she did [for ppl who don't know, her dad raped her, other people raped her, her dad raped a boy and was placed in prison, and then killed himself, her mother abandoned her, and her grandparents kicked her out aat age 15. shes REALLY messed up and i feel so bad
