This is horribly sad. As bad as I feel for Elisabeth, there is a bit of dramatic justice. She abandoned Rudolf, and now he is gone from her. She refused Death, and now she is being refused. Which is how she 'matures' (she's, what, fifty, but that's not the point.).

God, this is one of the most sadest parts in the musical, it always breaks my heart. I hope, when it comes to Belgium next year, there'll be a dvd. I just love this musical, it's one of my favorites...
I was also really sad that when they released the DVD with the extras there were no subtitles on the show itself. I mean, yeah, it's great to be able to understand the extras, but... why would they not subtitle the show itself?

Oh my God... This is the first time I've seen this, and I was crying. I knew that Der Tod at one point refused her, but I'd never seen it.
