There used to be a funeral march song that lasted about 1min and 30 seconds. It started with a picture of a tree that looks scary, then a dead girl, then something else. I wanted that so badly, but I found it was removed. Do any of you know where I could find the vid here? Greatly appreciated.
He means cliched as it has worked its way into pop culture. It's the quintiseential death march in tv shows, movies, and even sports. Where do you think the WWE gor the Undertaker theme music from?
People need to shut the fuck up about what other people's INTERPRETATION needs. It's called an interpretation because music is written down to be embellished upon. A real musician knows that. This is by far the most expressive interpretation I've heard, Chopin would have loved it.

Pardon me, Timmy, I beg to differ. I believe that this piece was marvelously played. perhaps he hasn't the money for the 'correct' equipment? I do not believe that he needs it. It is quite obvious that it is all there and played exceptional. Decent work!
You don't really need a video camera for this. It isn't imperitave that we see your delicate little fingers dance across the keyboard. However, you really, *really* would do well to invest in some recording equipment that doesn't have that 'nails on chalkboard' effect. Your playing is excellent, and you scored 28,000 views even though your camera is crap. Imagine how popular you'd be if it wasn't so butchered by your electronics.
sorry shaz but i agree, the camera is giving it a echo effect, keeps making strange sounds at parts and even tends too skip out the sounds together; i don't mean this in a nasty horrid way. but apart from the camera difficulties you are pretty talented, well done =3
i rather think its because the camera is rather too close to the piano... and/or the room itself is small... so really it might not be the cameras fault
All you people who want to talk shit just shut up. I mean can you play this song? I doubt it. I've played this song and this person is doing great. The only problem is the video quality--it just makes the piano itself sound bad. Otherwise its great.
Hey! That's good!! As a grade 7 keyboard and 3 piano I know that would be hard. Stop criticising his piano and his playing, youtubers!! It sounds hard to play and all!!! And it is, B flat minor, hard key....
So shurrup and listen to the piano, even if he should consider buying a new one. If you have 2500 pounds o' dosh in your piggy bank buy a Clavinova series 6!!! ;D XD
everybody be nice!! >:( That probably took a long time to learn!!!!!! I liked it. I wish I could play that well. Sorry about all those other jerks :)
Look back at the arpegios in the second part of the piece, and continue to bring out the melody. These arpegios can require a few difficult reaches, but still aim for legato. Work for rubato and dynamic change! I heard very little of this!
This interpretation of the piece is in desperate need of the damper pedal; it should be written in your music. Try getting away from the plodding cartoonish march you're used to hearing, and really bring out the melody in the right hand as you make it more legato. You might try using a softer touch (bringing out the melody does not nessesarily mean to make it loud).
yeah, its unfortunate that the recording is so bad.
Just one thing since you havn't specified that you arn't looking for critical analysis - but don't you think you are playing it a little fast? Like it doens't have to be painstakingly slow but even 10 bpm slower is just so much more emotive - though i know for the middle part i can't stand going as slow as its supposed to be played >.<
That's the scherzo if I remember correctly isn't it? I haven't looked at that yet; although knowing Chopin it probably needs to go at quite a lick, I'm still developing my technique for playing huge liszt style chords with more proficientcy - this recording wasn't as fluent as it could have been, and this is only a largo.

How is it clichéd? Do you mean that its use to represent funerals and such in TV is clichéd?
