  • I'm not a big fan of them, but the guitar sequence is a bit reminiscent of Welcome Home Sanitarium by Metallica. It seems so to me anyway

  • this song is definition of haunting beauty

  • fantastic!

  • Sounds a bit like Love is Blindness in a few places

  • Dave"The Edge"Evans is the guitar player in U2 he is a genuis this is a emotional song it reminds me of my ex

  • this is one of the most beautiful instrumental-songs all over the world and all times.

please, let it stay here...for ever!!! thank you!

    greetings from germany.

  • i want more tracks like this one. what genre is it?

  • @t0f4st Little late, but I'd categorize it as new age.

  • Who the hell is Rowena!?

No, scratch that, I really don't care - she inspired a masterpiece :)

  • She was the carachter in a move called Captive, The edge did the soundtrack for it, welsh film as I understand, based on the story of Patty Hearst, and her abduction, becoming sympathetic to her captors, and in the end one of them. Bad acting, not much fluididty to the story, but most people got into it for the sole reason of the edge , its a pure work of GOD that soundtrack is.

  • Thanks mate, I've been listening to this piece of music for over ten years without knowing where it came from. Appreciate the background :)

  • @Gynie75 I got it when it first came out, wore the tape out, that was also what got me into sinnead oconnor. Long before the lion and the cobra. The movie was so bad, I dont think it will ever get a dvd release, Its really a shame to have such great music go unheard though. Just to explain Rowena, was a TOTAL BABE. Played by Irina Brooke

  • @guyphawkes

Bad movie indeed. I first got the soundtrack on vinyl (!) and then later went to see the movie with my girlfriend. We were - honestly - the only two people in the entire movie theatre, which of course meant we were able to sit wherever we wanted - and do whatever we wanted.

But that's a whole different story...

  • The beginning always reminds me of Metallica. :S Kinda like Fade To Black. Maybe it's just me.

  • @Ayersy87

no the do have some similarities. That's exactly what Ive thought.

  • Go to Amazon and type in [The Edge Captive] and you find the CD Soundtrack for only $7.99. Well worth it.

  • This song helps me think :)

  • I had this on vinyl, the soundtrack from the movie `Captive` and lost it somehow. First time hearing this in 15 years.Still as beautiful as ever.j

  • I got this compilation album with this on called senses a long time ago. But i can't find it in any more stores or on the internet for download

  • if you find it please let me know.i have been looking for it everywhere.

  • Look out for "the captive" soundtrack. this is from that 80's movie :)

  • anywere on the internet i can download this from

  • search for chillout torrents

  • i searched it up on yahoo... i dont kno what to look for, i assumed a torrent site but i found nothing :/

  • Sure I can send it, PM your Email

  • @theedge76 It's the first song on Michael Brook's soundtrack for Captive [1998]

  • This track is one of a kind. The best melancholic song ever in my opinion.

Glad someone posted this, but a deeper video would be better

  • its soo harmonising, beautiful track and i will always remember it. Its a simple arrangement and i think sometimes you have to strip away alot of the instruments to get a better sound. Music and audio setups are a journey for me and without it i'd be lost

  • love the aquostic guitar.amazing track.sounds great on here

  • thanks for posting this, i've been haunted by this song for 20 years....

  • Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!! What else would you expect from The Edge? EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!

  • love

  • I love the movie this came from. It was called Captive and featured Sinead Oconnors solo debut after singing backup for World Party. Oh, and Oliver reid gave an awesome performance as Rowena's father. Kind of loosely based on the Patty Hearst story.

  • please tell what's the name of this film, becauce Captive I don't found

  • ou sorry, i fonded :) Captive (1986)
