@SilentlySuffocating Ummm ... Let's see, you're 32 which would have made you a kid in 1990 :) I'm (sadly) 40 and was living in Manchester and Leeds in the early 90's - I thought the film was a fair take on that era - Jack O'Connell was very convincing - the film lacked a strong storyline but it was fun and the music was fab - brought back loads of mad memories for myself - not bad :))
Check out the official weekendermovie channel to watch WEEKENDER stars Jack O'Connell and Henry Lloyd-Hughes in a new music video to rave classic "Passion" by Gat Decor.
I know it's not in this video(I think), but there's a track in the films credits at the end. It starts when the Radio DJ puts on the track with his two mates... Just wondered if anyone knew it and could let me know?, cheers!
if peeps really want to get pedantic about this film .Its set in 1990 ? sonz of a loop da loop - far out wasnt released until 1991 ..tbh i dont care..good film either way :)
OMFG - when I was young me and my mates would sit around after raves talking about when a film about all this would come out and it has - a must-see for the teenage son!! Freedom to party :)
@sararose1000 who gives a fuck? its not about about current 20 pound notes its about music and the 90's scene god i hate fools who come on this and point out stupid little things like that...honestly.
Wow! how amazing is this gonna be! I can't wait for it! Makes me nostalgic for the old days before the corporations fucked our house scene up. I remember going to the M25 raves back in the day. So glad I got to experience it! Does anyone know what song is playing at 20 secs in?
The Weekender soundtrack is amazing and will be released at the end of August! Compiled by Terry Farley - Music Consultant to the film, it'll be a 3 CD package featuring 1 CD of the best tracks in the film including all the best mixes, 1 CD of further gems from the era all in the best mixes too and a bonus CD with an exclusive Terry Farley "continuous" mix. Plus a 12 page booklet featuring pics from the film. Watch out for the forthcoming "Move Your Body" remix coming too. It;s like 1990 again!
@MusicalObsessions Theres Sons of a loopa da loop, era far out released late 91 & gat decor passion not released until 92! This looks like Skins 1990 this! Not much thought gone into by looks!?
@andrewt008 I was living in Manchester in '90 - the film is spot on in some respects - it captures the mad atmosphere at those early raves and how dangerous the venues were - they should have made more of 'Madchester' - Inspirals, Roses, Mondays - blah blah blah - I thought Jack O'Connell resembled many a Mancunian lad of that time although his accent was a bit dodgy! Bland in bits - the tunes were lovely - some misplaced - they should have had 'Asmo - Jam the Dance' :))
What is the name of the song that starts at 0:58. Please tell me, I would be very grateful
