No, the alleged Ashera is Serval X (Asian leopard cat X domestic) so technically that is still a Savannah because the Asian leopard cat X domestic = Bengal, then crossed with Serval = Savannah NOT Ashera. Look up Ashera cat scam on Wikepedia to read the whole story.
so, if they're the same cat, why the fuck don't they look alike? And if truly is a scam, who cares, don't buy one you prick. Someone with 25 grand to blow on a cat does not care.
@IMAdaniel They do look alike, unless you refer to the video that claims a cat is Ashera but shows an African Serval. ANY hybrid between Serval and domestic is a Savannah. Period. It could be Serval+Egyptian Mau, it could be Serval+stray kitty from the street. Plus there are different generations. As to "Ashera" there is one video here that claims it to be "Ashera" but shows an African Serval. In other videos, it looks like an F2 Savannahs. Google "Ashera cat scam".
Nope, they're the same kind of cat. The Savannah in this video is a growing kitten so he will get much bigger. There is no such thing as an Ashera cat. It's been proven by DNA.
Are you arguing with DNA tests? There are differences in looks between Savannah cats depending on who their domestic parent is, natural difference, and generation.
@jewelmarkess arguing? show me some quote and all also not all domestic cat are eligible ofr that type of briding, therefor their natural appearance can be so much different, show me a savannah with mian coon's hair and that will prove me wrong.
@TheSydh2o The DNA tests done on Ashera cats proved them to be Savannahs, how can you argue with that? Google "Ashera cat scam" or "murky background of Ashera and Allerca". Main Coon, it's not an allowed outcross, but just because something isn't allowed now, doesn't mean breeders didn't try it. Also, if you look up Savannah on the TICA website, you'll see that there are several domestic breeds allowed now including a DSH, but also that any cat descended from Serval+domestic is a Savannah.
@TheSydh2o What does "main coon style savannah" have to do with the fact that 1) there is a variety in Savannah cat looks based on the domestic partner and % of wild blood. 2) that Ashera is Savannah - the fact PROVEN BY DNA TESTS 3 years ago. I didn't say that Savannahs can look like ANYTHING, just that there is variety in looks. Your Main Coon stuff is a red herring. It doesn't change the fact that ANY cat that descended from Serval+domestic hybrid is BY DEFINITION (TICA) a Savannah.
@TheSydh2o Incidentally, do you think that kittens that don't have wild looks of a Savannah would be shown on breeder's web pages? As with any pedigreed cat, I'd imagine kittens that don't conform to breed standards are probably given as pets or something. Again given as many "Ashera" videos don't look like a main coon, but look very similar to an F2 savannahs (within normal variation), I think main coon reference is a complete red herring. I don't see how you can explain the DNA tests.
It was proven by DNA that the Ashera is exactly the same thing as a Savannah! There is no difference. Anything domestic bred to Serval is a Savannah PERIOD! Do your research, google Ashera cat vs. Savannah cat and read the whole story of how DNA proved both cats are one in the same.
@ChrifferProductions I heard that an "Ashera" is a cross-breed between a Serval and an Asian Leopard cat, not Bengal. In that case, it could very well be a separate genome identity.
The ashera cats are given more of a bubbly spot coat and savannahs are more just of a plain dot. and Most ashera's are hypoallergenic so good for people with allergies
@tylerboy247 "hypoallergenic" part has never been proven, it's just claims, completely unproven. Google "Ashera cat scam" also "murky background of Ashera and Allerca". The guy who sells them has a criminal record. He also sells TITAN Family Protector Dog - a supposedly super-trained German Shepherd for $80,000 as well as "Carradan skis" - skis for $18,000 that are supposedly made from materials never before used in skis. Gullible people believe unproven claims.

the thing is that ashera tend to look like a mini panther with cat trait, while the savannah has serval trail with big ears and sometimes gray

@TheSydh2o About main coon hair -- google "long haired Savannah", you'll be surprised what you'll find.
