Cropped ears has to do with dog fighting in some cases but having their ears cropped in no way makes them a fighting dog.
@Bananna1Man As a APBT owner I chose not to clip my dogs ears but am not going to judge anyone that does so (as long as they are young when it's done and done right) due to exactly what bannan1man said. Those floppy ears make it so the breeds ears get a lot of moisture and other things in there so that you are forced to clean them regularly. My dog is very clean and already has had 3 yeast infections in his ears so at times I wish I did clip them. But what's done is done. Too late now.
For the love of god LEAVE THEIR EARS ALONE they look tougher with ears, without they look abused, I know they are not but the only reason to clip their ears is if you intend to fight them. I know you love your dogs too much to do that. Maybe im wrong I know u chop tails cause they get brittel and split if you dont?
These look like staffordshire bull terriers (got a lot of muscle), mixed with a little bulldog (generally a more muscular and heavy dog). A pit bull is not every dog that looks slightly like a pit bull. Like I can't say a Chihuahua is in Italian Greyhound because they both are small and have the same tiny faces :3. Nor is an Afghan Hound a Greyhound when you shave them.
True APBT are not this big.those dogs are a mix between english bulldogs and american stafordshire terrier,and are called american bullys.you can call it a razors edge or a gotti line and charge thousands of dollars,and call it a pit bull.But in reality they are not true ABPT,they are a high bred and should not be called or advertised as an APBT.

It's 2012 about time to regulate these dangerous breeds. Anyone that is opposed to this is obviously a gangsta or trailer part trash. If you really love this incredibly UGLY breed, you would want only qualified owners and breeders for it. Background checks for buyers would cut out a hell of a lot of trash that buys these dogs. Some people crop their dogs ears to prevent infections and to improve hearing. The ear flap in some breeds traps moisture and dirt inside causing infection. It helps dogs to pinpoint sounds without the flap, it is used mainly for the style of breed, game dogs, or to prevent the ears from being injured in a fight while protecting a home. Cropped ears has to do with dog fighting in some cases but having their ears cropped in no way makes them a fighting dog.

@Bananna1Man As a APBT owner I chose not to clip my dogs ears but am not going to judge anyone that does so (as long as they are young when it's done and done right) due to exactly what bannan1man said. Those floppy ears make it so the breeds ears get a lot of moisture and other things in there so that you are forced to clean them regularly. My dog is very clean and already has had 3 yeast infections in his ears so at times I wish I did clip them. But what's done is done. Too late now.

These look like staffordshire bull terriers (got a lot of muscle), mixed with a little bulldog (generally a more muscular and heavy dog). A pit bull is not every dog that looks slightly like a pit bull. Like I can't say a Chihuahua is in Italian Greyhound because they both are small and have the same tiny faces :3. Nor is an Afghan Hound a Greyhound when you shave them.

True APBT are not this big.those dogs are a mix between english bulldogs and american stafordshire terrier,and are called american bullys.you can call it a razors edge or a gotti line and charge thousands of dollars,and call it a pit bull.But in reality they are not true ABPT,they are a high bred and should not be called or advertised as an APBT.

These are the UKC standards for an ABPT - The American Pit Bull Terrier must be both powerful and agile so actual weight and height are less important than the correct proportion of weight to height. Desirable weight for a mature male in good condition is between 35 and 60 pounds. Desirable weight for a mature female in good condition is between 30 and 50 pounds. Dogs over these weights are not to be penalized unless they are disproportionately massive or rangy. These aren't Pit Bulls.

@twokathon American Pit Bull Terrier comes from the original mix of the breed. The Bull Dog and the classic old world Terrier. Pit probably came in to play from their pit days but that rest is wrong. I don't believe they where used for bull baiting, boxers and bulldogs where a favorite for that sport. They are however used to take down large feral hogs.
