@jhawley1995 Can you get it out at all? Like have you tried lightly tapping the pin from the left side to get it started? Also, have you tried hitting the butt stock on the table to better align the two halves before you try to get the pin out??
@jhawley1995 Oh, also, if you cannot pull the pin out by hand, I suggest pushing it out. Don't try to pry it out, you'll scratch up the surface on your weapon.
Good video, but what about the gas tube? Surely that needs to be cleaned. Can it be accessed from the dissassembly you showed us or does it need to be taken down further? Sweet gun by the way, bro, thanks for posting.
@MrDamascusman No, you don't want to take that out it won't build up any carbon. You can clean the outside near the front and rear where carbon can build but leave it be.
@MrDamascusman ......At this point it can be cleaned directly from disassembly. You may need to be creative with creating tools to get to the nooks and crannies. I'm quite sure it doesn't have to be 100% spotless as if in the military. Carbeurator cleaner spray or WD40 works excellent in cleaning it. A handful of q-tips WILL come in handy too. Hope this helps....Happy cleaning!
That is up to you and which you like better. No other way to tell but to take a look through each of them to see which you think you'll be faster with.
Yankee Hill Machine I believe. They came with my RRA AR-15, but I am pretty sure they were made and sold by YHM. Good company for any AR-15 accessory. My BIS is YHM as well. Like it better than the ARMS spring-loaded BIS since you don't need to change to the night sight/NBC peep in order to flip it down like you would with the ARMS one.
thank you sir. the bipod mount on my m1a is an yhm. yes they make great products. but im lost on what size im suppose to use mid length or carbine length? my upper is an lmt 16inch and i believe the handguards are about 7 inches.
7 inches should be Carbine length. Mine is a midlength, and mine is 9 inches. Most 16 in barrel uppers are carbines. Midlengths would specifically be advertised as midlengths, and full length handguards with 16 inch barrels are specifically named too. Carbine is like the "default." I picked Midlength to get the slightly longer sight radius.
is there a way to get rid of the buffer spring so you could have maybe a folding stock? This is sort of a stupid question but are there any parts you can buy that will make an AR more reliable and simpler like an AK?
The sig looks really nice. At this point im leaning towards an AK47 knockoff since i wont really be doing any competitive shooting or anything like that. I just need a cheap reliable gun thats fun to shoot, and one that i know will work in case i ever need it for self defense.
you can get rid of the buffer spring...there are conversion kits designed to create a "AK" style recoil system. More of a short stroke piston, much less of a direct impingement system. I think Rock River sells one of these kits.
...i need a new extendable buttstock...mine is messed up. I think its missing a part because i have to keep tightening the nut on the bottom because it keeps coming loose.
I actually may need a new buffer tube cuz i want it to be a six position, not a two position like it currently is? any recommendation to what stocks are nice? I will take a looka at the next gun show i go to
thanks for the vid!

Not really, you'll have to just get something else. I think the Sig 556 or the Robinson Arms XCR would interest you.

To go even cheaper on ammo get an AK style rifle that fires 5.45x39mm
LaRueDeeko 3 years ago
So like an AK-74 knockoff? I was under the impression that 5.45s aren't that much cheaper than 7.62
