  • It is also certainly a way to happiness, not just to sanity. Definitely, Covey's quadrant tool is very effective & efficient. Thank you for the simple yet clear presentation :)

  • Excellent visual as to what is important. Furthermore, it can be a great help, just as Dr. Cross' suggests, to keep maintain your own sanity. We recently posted a story on JustJob's Academy where we discuss how to prioritize, and even manage your own boss. I hope the information adds to this video. - Erich

  • Hello, I'm looking for people to answer 6 questions on time management, any help would be great, thnx!

  • @GetGiftsForOffers Hi, I certainly tried your link but it didn't work. Have I missed something here? Cheers, Darryl

  • @drdarrylcross Try changing the \ to a /. And then it should work. Thank you!

  • I would rather lose ten dollars then lose ten minutes. Time is more valuable then money to me. If you lose a bit of money you can make it back. But if you lose time you're not going to get it back EVER. Thats why I think lessons like this are so vitally important.

  • @summer20105707 You're right. Nice point. Time is a gift. You don't ever get it back. So, we really need to use it wisely. Best regards, Darryl

  • I miss my classes in school .. :( thank you Dr.Darry You are my new online teacher!!

    The best!!

  • great info...delivered by another slurp-y speaker...those overly moist gaspy pauses...77% speakers do it...why? grrrrrrr...so annoying.......Martha Stewart also does...but hers is dry...yet gasp-y..........none this less....suffering through the noise after each pause...to glean info

  • I have failed my exams. Now i have realized that it is because i spent alot of time on 4th part

  • @miraxell Nice insight. What do you now need to do differently? How will you ensure that you now act differently? All the very best for the future journey, Darryl

  • Excellent! I deliver 1/2 to 1 day courses on Time Management and will certainly be incorporating this quadrant into my course.

Thanks for sharing a powerful and succinct video for a starting point... really makes a whole lot of sense!

  • @prudencemargaret Glad that it helped! All the best for that course. Hope it goes really well! Darryl

  • how did i get here from searching MGMT!?!?

  • Brilliant stuff. Ive heard a lot about the quadrant but not explaines as practically as this one. Also i totally agree with your comment about q2 being the most important. I find that q2 grows my business whereas the others do not.

  • @theongbros Yes, Q2 is a golden key. All the top business leaders that I coach all spend time in Q2 and usually it is "thinking" time. It might be a cup of coffee for 30 minutes a day at a local cafe or it might be an hour a week in the local library. But it's thinking time. It's invaluable. Cheers, Darryl

  • Ha. I love this guy

  • Thank you! you hit my brain starting moment of your lecture saying, Nelson mandela, and all other big icons of the world had same time like we do ! perfect point sir ! really appreciated!!!

  • @Dilanthaonline

Hi, thanks for your comment. Yes, I agree. It does help get life (and time) in perspective.

    Best regards, Darryl

  • @Dilanthaonline Thanks for your comments. Yes, it's all about how we use our time. All the very best for your journey. Darryl

  • Thanks Sir,

we behave like this every time our manager changes.

We put all our efforts together to move from I to II, once established, manager changes, and we are getting back to I.

Unfortunately this is not got for vibes on our working floor.

  • @kozzekozz

Hi, Sadly this is the way that it is in many work places. I guess the goal is to get to Quadrant II as fast as possible with any new manager. At least, you're able to identify which Quadrant that you're in.

    All the best, Darryl

  • thank you sir...

Thanks for taking time to comment

  • great job, with one comment: it's not Mr Covey idea, it's general Eisenhower's!

  • @MissKaidoz

Thanks! You're quite right, and the first to point this out. I've learnt something new!

    Best regards, Darryl

  • @drdarrylcross And I've learnt something from you and I have immediately used it during my workshop on "Time management" :) Fortunatelly these are international ideas, they work in Poland as well :) Thanks again.

  • This kind of video deserves more views, well done.

  • i want to kill you dr derryl

  • where would i put studying for exams after 6 days

  • wow thx i never thought about this like this

  • I want to thank you for this video and the presentation of this diagram, I find it really helpful and enlightening. When you put some thought to it, time is the ONLY capital we all bring to this world - that's why it is essential to learn how to use it wise. I really liked the comparison of the amount of hours in a week of a common man to Einstein's or Mandela's week. That's a striking revelation!

    Keep up the good work!

  • I love your diagrams! They really help to GET IT!!!

  • Simple but really informative and such a helpful time management tips..

  • @markfuller042 Thanks Mark. Glad that you found it helpful. Best Regards, Darryl

  • @ARom5000 Yes, it's important to try to make it simple; I think that in reality life probably is quite straightforward; it's just that we make it complicated.

All the best on your journey,

    Darryl

Thanks for your comments. And yes, it certainly helped me too when I first saw it years back. Keeps things more in perspective.

  • @drdarrylcross that is what we need. thanks for your videos

  • Great presentation. I've actually come across this concept on timemanagementcom but Dr. Cross' execution is much better. Thanks for sharing!

  • @athenah888

Thanks. I'm glad that it helped.

    Best regards,

    Darryl

  • @athenah888 Yes, this concept is certainly not original and I first saw it in Dr Stephen Covey's work, but I simply put it onto a framework and explanation that fitted for me and my clients.

  • Planning time! I will never forget it, thanks a lot!

  • lol lambton

  • Stephen Covey

  • Dear Darryl,

I had been listening to Stephen Covey's audiobook (7 Habits) specifically being concentrated on these four quadrants of effective time management. Watching your video on this same subject helped me clearly understand what Covey was trying to say. You have done a great job!

    -Akmal

  • Hi Akmal,

Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad that it assisted your understanding since Covey has a wealth of good things to say.

All the best on your journey!

    Darryl

  • Appreciate your effort Dr. !

  • Thanks for taking time to comment.

  • Excellent!

  • Thank you Sir! I am an MBA and was looking for some time management framework. Your video is simple yet striking. I have just drawn a replica on my draw board :) thanks again ! This matrix is going to stay for a long time with me.

  • Thank you. I wanted to share this video with my friend in Russia who doesn't know any English. Do you have a video translated to Russian?

  • My apologies, but I'm afraid that I don't have a video that has been translated into any other languages other than English at this stage. But thanks for the enquiry.

    Darryl Cross

  • Thanks for the feedback. In this day and age, most people are "time poor" so it's important to work out how we use that precious resource called time. Best wishes, Darryl

  • Thank you Dr. Darryl, good video that must watch

  • Hi,

Thanks for the comment. The more that I coach, the more that I see that a secret for living & for business is to set aside time to plan and to think. All the great leaders that I've studied seem to do this. I certainly challenge my clients to set aside such time (Quadrant 2) and it is showing dividends. Thanks again.

  • Very good, must watch and listen carefully, it will help you to improve your productivity.
