ive had this phone for about 6 months now. ive dropped it QUITE a few times. it took an unheard of amount of drops before the screen cracked. other than that, i like it a lot. it reboots the entire OS unexpectedly constantly. is there a way to avoid that? it may be the fact that it's been dropped so many times...
can i get your opinion on something? I have a Samsung mesmerize and I've had tons of problems with it, I'm going to trade it and get a new smartphone. Whats the best option with us cellular? I want something reliable and well made that will run ne app i have, thanx
Got the merge now,,, had the mesmerize,,, MUCH better, The samsung had issues of locking up (battery had to be removed to get it to work) weekly and worse coverage. That said, he mesmerize did have a better display, but i need reliable over "pretty"
I have an htc desire and I saw the merg in the store the other day and I thought I would like to get it I like phones with keybords like that so I was wandering if their basicly the same sep for one has the slide keyborde
hi umm i have the mesmerize and i was wondering if its better then this phone over all cuz idk but i love the mmesmerize alote so please help just in general
well i cant realy decide between this one and the samsung mesmerize. my first choise was the samsung infuse on at&t, but mt mom said i had to stay on us cellular. im mostly going to text ,go on the web alot, and play apps like angry birds. SO i cant realy decide . Wich one do you suggest i buy?
@DxNinga103 I prefer the size and shape of the Mesmerize personally, plus it has a nice Super AMOLED screen. The Merge is a great phone but I don't really like hardware QWERTY keyboards and I'm not a big fan of HTC Sense.
Hello, I am looking to get a smartphone from us cellular and am debating between the HTC 7 pro and this. I want something thats best for social networking, browser, and widgets. Please reply back on your opinion. Thanks
@DelusionGB As far as the browser and social networking go both phones will be very similar but you don't really get widgets with the HTC 7 Pro. I've reviewed both devices on this channel and they are both very good
I might get my 1st android phone. I am currently a basic phone user. So I am currently comparing the HTC Wildfire S, Milestone X and this one. Which one you will suggest?
i dont know if you know but if just for reference. with pushing the home page twice to pull up where it shows all the different pages you can also finger pitch the screen like your trying to zoom
@snapplechick716 They are both going to be similar as far as performance goes. If you like widgets and wants a hardware qwerty go with the Merge. If you want something thinner with a larger screen go with the Milestone.
@jrd1998 They are practically the same phones except one runs WP7 and the other Android. I'm more partial to WP7 so that would be my pick. I suggest visiting a store and trying out both.
@TubbyGerman They are close in specs but I prefer the Desire simply because it does not have a hardware QWERTY keyboard. There is nothing wrong with the keyboard on the Merge, I am just partial to touchscreen keyboards more.
@mobitureblog between the merge and the samsung mesmerize, which one would you recommend? im going to be using my phone for a little bit of everything. ill be doing a lot on the internet, a lot of texting as well, a lot of use. basically the only thing i wont use on it is music. suggestions?
@mobitureblog is there any real noticeable speed diffference between the 2? i love the looks of the merge but the technologically, the mesmerize is more advanced. wish there was a way to put the screen, processor, and camera from the mesmerize into a merge. lol
@mobitureblog look at this i got this right from us cellulars website
"If you travel outside of North America frequently you can stay in touch with the HTC MergeTM, HTC's Global Ready Android phone. Connect to Wi-Fi Hotspots for data or purchase a prepaid SIM card for service with a carrier abroad. Simply insert the SIM card of the carrier into the device and you are ready to go with a local phone number"
@nicholasarden What I am saying is that this device will not work on GSM carriers here in the states, which is where I assumed most people watching this video would use it.
@mobitureblog i just got off the phone with uscc and they said that you can use the phone with a sim card in the us where the uscc service does not work
@mobitureblog Just a suggestion... Correct it does have a 800 mhz processor , but it is the second generation processor in it so it is faster than all the recent 1ghz phones. You say it's slower in your video. Good review otherwise though!
just a heads up : you said the merge has a 800 mhz processor, but it is the second generation qualcomm processor. It is faster than the standard 1 ghz processors like the mesmerize, etc. IT IS FASTER :)

@CDJurgens13 Thanks! I live in Oklahoma and it gets pretty hot here in the summer. Thankfully I'll be in San Diego the next few months so much cooler temperatures.
@COD4NoScopeBeast12 It's not horrible but definitely not the best. Handsets with HTC Sense on them tend to run down faster than Android phones without it.
