  • a fuckin healthy marriage, to say the least. respect.

  • Can someone explain to me why 2 drummers ? I see more and more shows (allman brothers, Roy Hargrove and the RH factore) with what seams to be 2 simultaneously playing drummers.

  • The second drummer to the right is Derek's little brother. The boy is a great drummer. With SSR they have 2 drummers to get more feel into it all. Same with ABB, they have 2 drummers to get more rhythm. They also have 1 percussionist.

  • @louisbrillon i was wondering the same thing. i realized with Joe Bonamassa @ royal albert hall that you get a certain depth and tone to the music (assuming the drummers are as tight as you would hope) that just hits home. The combo creates a certain power that just makes the music hit home that much more. Inexplicable beauties of music need no questioning :)

  • Well said jonbernard3 and thanks for your answer ! My ears did not catch the depth yet (maybe it will come). I'm always wondering if the DVD plays only one drum track. The live mix may be different too. Anyway thanks again !

  • Whoops I didn't see that someone already answered your question, sorry!

  • Thanks anyway !

  • @louisbrillon because it's badass.

  • That's his younger bro Duane Trucks that plays with him sometimes.

  • Ive never heard any other musician get more feeling out of their instrument than dereck trucks does with slide guitar.

  • disagree...Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, Hendrix

  • god and goddess.. perfect match IMO.

  • I think i was probably just a bit to your right at this show.

  • i would have been a bit to the right of you then. and back a row or two.

  • man, i know this sounds cliche, but this guy reminds me so much of Duane.

i think he actually took this arrengement from the version of "The Weight" duane did with Aretha Franklin.

  • Duane is his hero. He was named for Derek from Derek and the Dominoes. It's not an accident. Thank God for Derek and Susan. I have seen each 3 times, but never together. They are the "real deal" as SRV would say

  • The real deal indeed! The first time I ever saw Derek accompany Susan in a live show (back in 2003) it was like the heavens parted and the light of God shone down on the stage. Simply astounding!

  • dont forget The Band was the original band to play this song i mean there guitarist wrote it

  • wow

  • I was there, and it definately kicked this much ass.
