In my opinion Ogg Vorbis is number one! Number two is WMA10 (better quality, but it's available only on Windows). The worst lossy audio codec is MP3 (very bad quality).
Another Question (Sorry If I'm bugging you now lol)
But would you favor WMA 9.1 at 96khz (and the max bitrate available for that sample rate) over 96khz 512kbps AAC Audio ?
And also would you rather keep the audio sample rate as high as possible up untill youtube uploading, then let youtube down sample to 44.1 , or just downsample to 44.1 for the video render ?
Wow, listening back the second sound definately sounds like it extends slightly higher in terms of frequency, maybe its just the way its attempting to re-create the lost highs? :s
I saw the order, maybe thought you would switch them around in audio to confuse us ;P
Question: Is it possible to use Atrac3plus audio with mp4 / (h.264) video?
Atm I can only upload mp4 video in vegas using AAC audio, if you listen to my latest video, you cna hear the reconstruction of higher freqs (i.e cymbals)
For all the posers that say that mp3 at 320k is the best.
You obvious never have tried OGG Vorbis. That shit is pure quality. also OGG Vorbis at 64kb is way fucking better than that mp3 shit.
So don't say shit if you don't know shit about encoding.

mp3 320kbps is always number one
FLAC before that but the file size is often rediculous.

FLAC is Lossless Audio Codec, this is Lossy Audio Compression Test :)

It's a real shame about youtubes audio situation =/
I spent time running them through tape machines and careful EQ to get i just right, then youtube messes it all up with its dreadful conversion =[
uberpirox 2 years ago
@uberpirox because youtube uses AAC LC even on his 720p mode. and AAC LC is old. HE AAC or HE AAC v2 are way better.

Second sound is uncompressed PCM (at 0:55, that one), I think anyway :p
Sounds like a higher cut off point and slightly richer, If I'm wrong I will actually just die,

Guess what? You are wrong.
First sound is uncompressed PCM :P
