Didn't know much about MJ. What I did? Thriller, Moonwalker, and unfortunately the court trials. For the longest time, I thought he was an evil beast and creepy guy to children. I soon found out after he died that he was a swell guy, had some hits (some I hadn't even heard of) that was really good. For a while, I felt horrible for all the evil things I thought of him over the years. Dumb,I know, but it really bothered me.

I'm so happy I didn't go see this at the movies because I would have be singing and dancing in my chair this entire movie. I LOVED it! Human Nature is probably my all time favorite MJ song. Whats sad is this would have been the most kickass concert in history. Most concerts have mucisions just singing , dancing, or playing instruments, but Mike always add 100% more effort to everything.

The whole sensation that was made (such as the really* limited time for theater viewing) was all for the money. This movie actually would've been part of a new edition of maybe a re-release or even a new album by Michael Jackson. Lots of bands/artists does this, where they take an entire live set on camera and sell it on dvd with or after the album. But with Jackson dead it became a giant memorabilia for him on the big screen. It also prepared for more viewers and a bigger* deal.

If he wasn't dead we could have seen his concert in person or on TV and DVD like most of his other major performances, so the bulk of the footage may have still been used. And I know I would have wanted to see if MJ could really make a comeback.

i remember on the radio on mj 50th birthday, they where giving away an ipod with all of mjs songs on it, and they got 2 callers in the 3 hours they had.
my point exactly, this concert was supposed to be the comeback when he'd try to regain his image. Since he can't perform the actual thing live, releasing the footage like this was perfectly sensible. It's not like that made his birthday a national holiday or anything.
as far as more talented people thing; that's your opinion not mine (I have yet to see anyone that can do MJ moves as good as the original), but you're entitled to it so i won't bother debating it.
I know a MJ superfan (I couldn't stand MJ myself) who hasn't gone a day without listening to at least 10 MJ songs, and talks about him every day (no exaggeration), and he hated this. MJ was good, but he was far from a musical genius, and my friend was bored out of his skull.
This is it, was very entertaining show like movie, with great singing and dancing throughout. There is not much talking and it is really just about the music. I think that is the best way to remember Michael Jackson (whatever else he was), there is no denying his talent. The movie gave me a good sense of closure. Seeing Michael Jackson acting like the man I remember from the 1980s was well worth it.

Any ways i don't care if they are trying to make money off it, fact is that he is in debt, and its' the family who has to pay it off, okay it does not just disappear now he's dead. The whole sensation that was made (such as the really* limited time for theater viewing) was all for the money. This movie actually would've been part of a new edition of maybe a re-release or even a new album by Michael Jackson. Lots of bands/artists does this, where they take an entire live set on camera and sell it on dvd with or after the album. But with Jackson dead it became a giant memorabilia for him on the big screen. It also prepared for more viewers and a bigger* deal.

If he wasn't dead we could have seen his concert in person or on TV and DVD like most of his other major performances, so the bulk of the footage may have still been used. And I know I would have wanted to see if MJ could really make a comeback.
It's fine to be jealous of how famous he was, but u don't have to be an a-hole and talk down to people giving reverence to a dead celebrity that they enjoyed listening to for 30 years.

my point exactly, this concert was supposed to be the comeback when he'd try to regain his image. Since he can't perform the actual thing live, releasing the footage like this was perfectly sensible. It's not like that made his birthday a national holiday or anything.
as far as more talented people thing; that's your opinion not mine (I have yet to see anyone that can do MJ moves as good as the original), but you're entitled to it so i won't bother debating it.

I know a MJ superfan (I couldn't stand MJ myself) who hasn't gone a day without listening to at least 10 MJ songs, and talks about him every day (no exaggeration), and he hated this. MJ was good, but he was far from a musical genius, and my friend was bored out of his skull.

This is it, was very entertaining show like movie, with great singing and dancing throughout. There is not much talking and it is really just about the music. I think that is the best way to remember Michael Jackson (whatever else he was), there is no denying his talent. The movie gave me a good sense of closure. Seeing Michael Jackson acting like the man I remember from the 1980s was well worth it.

the first hour and 30 minuits were actually magical. (and i was one of the reluctant ones, as i did think it was a money grab)
but the last 30 minuites i was just saying to myslef "lets do man in the mirror, and be done with it."
i sugest that you see it on IMAX, seeing it in theaters is like watching the movie concert, the IMAX experience you IN the concert.
if you a fan of MJ watch it, If you thaught he was overrated watch it, if you dont know if your a fan watch it.
